Abstract
The invention relates to a vehicle protection support which has been developed to avoid losses of life caused by collision of low ceilinged vehicles with particularly commercial vehicles with a high frame during an accident. The operation principle of the invention is based on triggering a bar system located in the car chassis via sensors during the accident.
Description
DESCRIPTION
A VEHICLE PROTECTION SUPPORT
Technical Field
The invention relates to a vehicle protection support which has been developed to avoid losses of life caused by collision of low ceilinged vehicles with particularly commercial vehicles with a high frame during an accident. The operation principle of the invention is based on triggering a bar system located in the car chassis via sensors during the accident.
Prior Art At the present time, high incidence of losses of life during accidents and prevention of these losses are the primary public problems.
As passenger vehicles have low ceilings, these vehicles may get under the other vehicle during their collision with particularly commercial vehicles with a high frame. There are air bags triggered by sensors located in the vehicle in order to prevent this event which results in death of both the driver and the passenger from being occurred. However this solution is not enough.
Moreover, a frequently encountered problem is that the driver and passengers may get injured by getting stuck in the car, or even may die due to collapse of the ceiling of an overturned vehicle. Brief Description of the Invention
The object of the invention is to trigger at least four bars located in the vehicle chassis via sensors during an accident and to enable a life barrier which is created by these bars to prevent the passenger car from getting under the commercial vehicle with a high frame. The invention aims to reduce death and injury rates in the accidents and also to prevent collapse of the overturned vehicle ceiling.
Detailed Description of the Invention
The vehicle protection support formed to achieve the purposes of this invention is illustrated in the accompanying figures, in which:
Figure-1 is a view illustrating the operation of the vehicle protection support of the invention during an accident.
Figure-2 is a detailed view of the bar forming the vehicle protection support of the invention.
Figure-3 is a view of bars forming the vehicle protection support of the invention on the chassis. The parts forming the vehicle protection support of the invention are numbered as follows in the accompanying figures:
1. Bar
2. Lock
3. Protecting arm
4. Outer chamber
5. Propulsion System
6. Chassis Connection
7. Chassis
The vehicle protection support of the invention is made of a durable material such as titanium, carbon, fiber, steel, iron and aluminum and consists of at least four bars (1).
Each bar (1) is formed by the integration of the outer chamber (4), the protecting arm (3), the propulsion system (5) and the lock (2) parts.
The protecting arm (3) contained in the outer chamber (4) is activated via the propulsion system (5) during the accident. The propulsion system (5) is triggered according to the information from the sensor. The trigger system (5) is designed such that it may be operated by gas, air or spring. There are locks (2) on the chamber (4) wall in order to avoid returning of the protecting arm (3) back to its place when it exits the outer chamber (4).
The bar (1) may be attached to the vehicle chassis (7) via the chassis connection (6).
These bars (1) are sized according to the physical characteristics of the vehicle (vehicle weight, height between the bonnet and the ceiling, etc.) to which they will be applied.
The vehicle protection support, the operation principle of which has been described, prevents the vehicle from getting under a higher vehicle and avoids collapse of the ceiling during overturning by the activation of the protecting arms (3) in the case of collision.
