Abstract
A screw compressor (100), provided with: an electric motor (4); a screw rotor sharing an axis of the electric motor (4), and being driven by the electric motor (4); a casing accommodating the electric motor (4) and the screw rotor, and comprising: gas channels (4a, 4b), arranged along a portion of the outer circumference of the electric motor (4) on one side with respect to a specific virtual plane which includes the axis, so that gas leads to the screw rotor side from the opposite side of the screw rotor with respect to the electric motor (4); a protruding portion (30), arranged at a position facing the electric motor (4) on one side with respect to a virtual plane of an inner wall face of the casing and on a downstream side of the gas channels (4a, 4b), and protruding from the inner wall face; a suction port (6), arranged within the casing on one side with respect to a virtual plane and downstream of the protruding portion (30), and guiding gas passing through the electric motor (4) to the screw rotor. The screw compressor (100) prevents the temperature of portions of a coil from rising, increasing the reliability of the screw compressor.
