Description
LEVELING ADAPTOR
Technical Field
Present invention relates to a leveling adaptor eliminating dimensional variances at the front and rear posts of trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage, with a view to ensuring common use of the bulkhead, front post and rear post. Background of the Invention
Semi-trailers that are currently available in the market do not have such a feature. The current state of the art solves problems caused by the inner net by adjusting the level with the holes on a special angle bracket in the front post area. No spacer is provided on rear posts, thus rear posts are affected from variations of the inner net. Currently the height of rear posts, in particular, vary depending on the inner net used, leading to fabrication of posts in various dimensions, negatively affecting stock management and stocking space.
Currently, dimensional differences between post assemblies and bulkhead arising from variations in dimensions of inner net due to customer demands lead to following disadvantages;
- Manufacturing of front-rear posts and bulkheads in different types
- Additional material and labor costs
- Using up more stocking space thus reducing free stocking space
- Varying unit costs
- Increased labor costs
- Need for additional stocking space in the warehouse for each individual component in a different size, reducing free stocking space.
Currently, no spacer or any other system is available in the market that eliminates these disadvantages or minimizes the extent of impact caused by said variations.
A literature screening revealed similar applications for leveling adaptors, eliminating dimensional variances at the front posts and front bulkhead in the front and rear posts at the rear of trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage, arising from variations
in dimensions of inner net due to customer demands, with a view to ensuring common use of the bulkhead, front post and rear post.
Utility model bearing application number TR2013/15076 relates to a middle post locking system on trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage, fitted with a roof raising system, that helps the weight of the load to be supported by side posts located between the platform and the roof when the truck is on the move and particularly during cornering, preventing up and down movement of the upper part of the side post, inserted into the side post to extend and contract the length of the side post and to allow the side post to move up and down, and allows the side post to lock at a desired level.
Patent certificate bearing number EP1637375B1 relates to a mechanism for raising or lowering the roof of the body of a commercial vehicle, that is supported by corner posts in particular, incorporating a slide located in the upper post area, containing a lifting device connected to the roof, moving up and down, an extension adjacent to the slide, a buffer between the lifting device and the extension, with a mechanical mechanism located under the extension and attached to the lifting device directly or indirectly, with a vertical movement. Consequently, improvements are made with regard to leveling adaptors eliminating dimensional variances at the front and rear posts of trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage, with a view to ensuring common use of the bulkhead, front post and rear post. Thus new structures are needed to eliminate above mentioned disadvantages and to provide solutions to current systems. Objective of Invention
Present invention relates to leveling adaptors eliminating dimensional variances at the front and rear posts of trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage, with a view to ensuring common use of the bulkhead, front post and rear post, meeting all the above requirements, eliminating all disadvantages and introducing additional advantages.
Primary objective of present invention is to use the same type of front and rear posts and bulkheads for inner nets that are positioned at certain intervals with a view to ensuring common use of such components.
Another objective of present invention is to reduce unit costs by common use or front and rear posts.
One other objective of present invention is to facilitate stock management and reduce the need for stocking space both within and outside the premises by minimizing variations in front and rear posts.
A further objective of present invention is to facilitate parts installation and tracking by reducing the number of parts to be tracked.
Another objective of present invention is to manufacture a leveling adaptor from composite polymer based materials, metals and metal alloys.
A further objective of present invention is to use an inner net leveling adaptor between the roof and the posts with a view to eliminating the need to manufacture front posts, rear posts and bulkhead assemblies in different sizes, by making sure that posts and bulkheads are not affected from variations of the inner net, in order to use same sizes of posts and bulkheads for various inner nets. Thus the need to make modifications to front and rear posts and bulkheads for different inner nets is eliminated.
The leveling adaptor constituting the subject of present invention incorporates a retaining sheet securing front post, rear post and bulkhead to the roof rail and a mounting gap to insert the leveling adaptor to the front post, rear post and the bulkhead. Diagrams Describing Invention

Detailed Description of Invention
Present invention is a leveling adaptor (A) eliminating dimensional variances at the front posts (2) and rear posts (3) of trailers, semi-trailers and trucks that are used for road haulage due to customer demands, with a view to ensuring common use of the bulkhead (8), front post (2) and rear post (3) incorporating a front leveling adaptor (10) and a rear leveling adaptor (1 1 ) securing the front post (2), bulkhead (8) and rear post (3) to the roof rail (5). Mounting gaps (20) are provided on front leveling adaptor (10) and rear leveling adaptor (11 ).
On the other hand it incorporates a minimum of one fastener (30) securing the leveling adaptor (A) to the front post (2), rear post (3) and bulkhead (8) detachably and multiple supports located in the mounting gap (50) of the front leveling adaptor (10) and the rear leveling adaptor (11 ). It also incorporates mounting tabs (40) with a connection gap (41 ) on
front leveling adaptor (10) and rear leveling adaptor (1 1 ). Additionally a lug (12) is located on rear leveling adaptor (11 ).
Diagram-3 provides a sketch of the leveling adaptor (A). Accordingly, the leveling adaptor incorporates a front leveling adaptor (10) securing the front post (2), bulkhead (8) and rear post (3) to the roof rail (5). Mounting gaps (20) are provided to secure the leveling adaptor (A) to the front post (2), rear post (3) and bulkhead (8). There is a minimum of one fastener (30) securing the leveling adaptor (A) to the front post (2), rear post (3) and bulkhead (8) detachably.
As seen in Diagram-1 , the trailer used for road haulage incorporates a vehicle platform (1 ) constituting the main body of the trailer and carrying the components that form the trailer as well as the cargo. There are multiple front posts (2) on the vehicle platform (1 ) at the front of the trailer, positioned across each other, carrying the roof of the trailer. Front posts (2) are secured to the bulkhead (8) supporting the roof rail (5). There are multiple rear posts (3) on tat the rear of the trailer, positioned across each other, carrying the roof of the trailer.
