- the meter ID of the electricity meter consists of 11 digits. If the number of each unit is expressed as 4 bits, it is converted to 44 bits. For example, suppose that there is an electricity meter with a meter ID of 37250000089. If each number of the meter ID is expressed by 4 bits and converted into hex, the number is 0x3, 0x72, 0x50, 0x00, 0x00, and 0x89. Since the converted hexadecimal number is 44 bits, it can be mapped in the form of an EUI-48bit MAC address. However, since the seventh and eighth bits of the EUI-48bit OUI have special meanings, as shown in Fig. 4, the first 4 bits are put in the first number, and the next 4 bits are set to u and g bits. Leave blank for and map in sequence.
- MAC address is used individually in one subnet, so u and g bits are each set to 0. That is, if the 11byte Meter ID is 37250000089, a 6byte MAC address 0x307250000089 (OUI part: 0x307250, NIC part: 0x000089) may be formed.
- the converted address maintains the u and g bit settings of the EUI-48bit system irrespective of the meter ID information, so it can communicate with existing communication technologies such as Ethernet without problems.
- the meter If there is a power meter or another system connected to the local network to which the present invention does not apply, there is a possibility that a MAC address collision problem may occur. If the meter is requested to change the MAC address due to a collision, it refuses to change its own MAC address so that the MAC address of the other modem that caused the collision is changed. However, if its MAC address must be changed, it uses the x and y bits left for collision and expansion.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating a method of generating a second MAC address according to the present invention.
- the method for generating the second MAC address uses the second MAC address generator of the address generating apparatus 100 of the intelligent remote meter reading system described above.
- RFC2464 proposes a method of converting an EUI-64bit to an existing EUI-48bit addressing system. Accordingly, when the EUI-64bit MAC address generation is required, the present invention converts the Meter ID-based EUI-48bit MAC address into an EUI-64bit MAC address based on RFC2464.
- the conversion method is to insert a 0xFFFE (16b bit) value in the middle of the existing EUI-48bit MAC address, increase the bit size to 64 bits, and change the u bit from local to universal.
- meter ID is 37250000089. Based on this address, form an EUI-48bit MAC address of 0x307250000089 using the method described above, and change this value back to an EUI-64bit MAC address. It can form a -64bit MAC address.
- EUI-48bit MAC address As well as EUI-48bit MAC address can be formed based on Meter ID.
- FIG. 8 is a diagram illustrating a method of generating a first IP address according to the present invention.
- the method for generating a first IP address uses the first IP address generator of the address generating apparatus 100 of the intelligent remote meter reading system described above.
- the 16-byte address scheme of IPv6 is divided into an 8-byte Subnet prefix and an 8-byte interface ID.
- Subnet Prefix which consists of the actual hierarchical addressing system, is divided by ISPs by country and organization, and is specifically assigned to each institution and organization according to domestic policy.
- the subnet prefix of IPv6 is fixed as a predetermined appointment, and the interface ID is given to each meter differently. Therefore, the present invention proposes a method of intuitively setting an interface ID using a meter ID as a first technique related to IP.
- Each number of 11 bytes of Meter ID of the electricity meter is represented by 4 bits and converted to hexadecimal to generate 44 bits. If you add 20bit 0 before the generated 44bit value, a 64bit number equal to the interface ID is generated. In this way, the generated 64-bit number is used as the interface ID of the actual IPv6.
- FIG. 9 is a view for explaining a method of generating a second IP address according to the present invention.
- the method for generating a second IP address uses the second IP address generator of the address generating apparatus 100 of the intelligent remote meter reading system described above.
- IPv6 has its own support for obtaining MAC addresses through the Neighbor Discovery Protocol.
- the interface ID itself is set to the Meter ID-based EUI-64bit address described above, the MAC address is also known through the IP address, so that the gateway ID can be used even in the present invention.
- FIG. 10 is a diagram for describing a process of managing an address of a wattmeter
- FIG. 11 is a diagram for explaining a process of managing an address of a wattmeter according to the present invention.
- a server first requests information of a power meter 3 from a data concentrator.
- the data concentrator since the data concentrator does not know the IP address of the electricity meter 3, it transmits the meter ID in broadcast.
- the electricity meter 3 since the electricity meter 3 is its Meter ID, it wants to respond to it, but does not know the MAC address of the data concentrator, so it requests the MAC address of the data concentrator through ARP.
- the data concentrator then sends its MAC address to wattmeter 3.
- the electricity meter 3 requires a complicated procedure of transmitting its IP using the received MAC address.
- the server first calculates the IP address and MAC address of the electricity meter 3 by using the address generation device of the intelligent remote meter reading system described above, and then calculates the subnet prefix of the data concentrator. In addition, communication with the meter is possible.
- the address generation device and method of the intelligent remote meter reading system generate a MAC address and an IPv6 address based on a meter ID, so that a server administrator can easily grasp the remaining addresses using only the meter ID to access the electricity meter. You can easily obtain the information you need.

Description
(APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING ADDRESS OF INTELLIGENT REMOTE READING SYSTEM)에 관한 것으로, 보다 자세하게는 원격검침 시스템의 최상위 주소 체계인 Meter ID를 기반으로 IP 주소 및 MAC 주소를 생성하는 지능형 원격검침 시스템의 주소 생성 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것이다.

| Ex) 37 | Ex) 25 | Ex) 0000089 |
도 2를 참조하여 설명하면, 앞에 3bytes는 제조사를 의미하는 OUI(Organizationally Unique Identifiers)이며, 뒤에 3bytes는 제조사에서 부여하는 아이디를 의미하는 NIC(Network 인터페이스 Controller)이다.
