표시장치
실시 예는 표시장치에 관한 것이다.
최근 다양한 전자 제품에서 디스플레이 장치에 표시된 화상에 손가락 또는 스타일러스(stylus) 등의 입력 장치를 접촉하는 방식으로 입력을 하는 터치 패널이 적용되고 있다.
이러한 터치 패널은 크게 저항막 방식의 터치 패널과 정전 용량 방식의 터치 패널로 구분될 수 있다. 저항막 방식의 터치 패널은 입력 장치의 압력에 의하여 유리와 전극이 단락되어 위치가 검출된다. 정전 용량 방식의 터치 패널은 손가락이 접촉했을 때 전극 사이의 정전 용량이 변화하는 것을 감지하여 위치가 검출된다.
저항막 방식의 터치 패널은 반복 사용에 의하여 성능이 저하될 수 있으며 스크래치(scratch)가 발생될 수 있다. 이에 의해 내구성이 뛰어나고 수명이 긴 정전 용량 방식의 터치 패널에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다.
상기 정전 용량 방식의 터치 패널은 터치 명령 입력이 가능한 유효영역과 상기 유효영역 외곽의 비유효 영역으로 정의된다. 상기 유효영역에 형성되는 전극패턴은 디스플레이 장치로부터의 광을 투과시킬 수 있도록 투명한 도전물질로 형성되고, 비유효영역에 형성되는 배선패턴은 도전성물질로 형성된다.
최근에는 벤디드, 폴더블 플렉서블 디스플레이 장치가 개발되었고, 상기의 디스플레이 장치의 구현을 위해서는 벤딩된 터치패널이 요구된다. 상기 터치패널이 벤딩되는 경우 상기 전극패턴 및 배선패턴에 크랙이 발생하거나, 커버 필름에 크랙이 발생하여 터치패널에 불량이 발생하는 문제점이 있다.
실시 예는 크랙을 방지할 수 있는 표시장치를 제공한다.
실시 예에 따른 표시장치는, 표시패널; 상기 표시패널 상에 위치하는 터치모듈; 상기 터치모듈 상에 위치하는 커버필름; 상기 표시패널과 터치모듈 사이에 위치하는 제1접착층; 및 상기 터치모듈과 커버필름 사이에 위치하는 제2 접착층을 포함하고, 상기 제1 접착층 및 제2 접착층은 상기 표시장치 대비 7% 내지 40%의 두께를 가진다.
실시 예에 따른 표시장치는 곡률을 가지는 경우에도 크랙을 방지하여 표시장치의 불량을 방지할 수 있다.

도 1 내지 도 3을 참조하면, 실시 예에 따른 표시장치(1)는 표시패널(10), 터치모듈(20) 및 커버필름(60)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 표시패널(10)은 화상을 표시하는 패널일 수 있다. 상기 표시패널(10)은 액정패널 또는 유기발광패널일 수 있다.
상기 표시패널(10) 상에는 터치모듈(20)이 위치한다. 상기 터치모듈(20)은 터치패널(30), 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 표시패널(10) 상에는 상기 제1 접착층(40), 터치패널(30) 및 제2 접착층(50)이 순차적으로 적층될 수 있다.

상기 기판(31)이 표시패널(10)에 부착되어 사용되는 경우 상기 기판(31)의 유효 영역(AA) 및 비유효 영역(UA)은 표시패널(10)의 표시영역 및 비표시 영역과 대응될 수 있다. 상기 표시 영역은 화상을 표시하는 영역이고 상기 비표시 영역은 화상을 표시하지 않는 영역이다. 따라서, 상기 기판(31)의 유효 영역(AA)은 광을 투과할 수 있는 영역으로 구성되어야 하고, 상기 기판(31)의 비유효 영역(UA)은 광을 투과하지 않는 영역으로 구성될 수 있다.
상기 기판(31) 상에는 패턴층(33)이 형성될 수 있다. 상기 패턴층(33)은 전극패턴(35) 및 배선패턴(37)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 전극패턴(35)은 상기 유효영역(AA) 상에 형성될 수 있고, 상기 배선패턴(37)은 상기 비유효 영역(UA) 상에 형성될 수 있다.

상기 배선패턴(37)은 제1 배선패턴(37a) 및 제2 배선패턴(37b)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 제1 전극패턴(35a)은 상기 제1 배선패턴(37a)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 상기 제1 전극패턴(35a)은 상기 제1 배선패턴(37a)과 일체로 형성될 수 있고, 상기 제1 전극패턴(35a)은 상기 제1 배선패턴(37a)과 별개로 형성될 수 있다.

또는, 상기 배선패턴(37)은 저항이 낮은 금속물질을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 배선패턴(37)이 저항이 낮은 금속물질을 포함하는 경우 크롬(Cr), 니켈(Ni), 알루미늄(Al), 백금(Pt), 금(Au), 텅스텐(W), 구리(Cu) 및 몰리브덴(Mo)으로 이루어지는 그룹으로부터 선택된 적어도 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 기판(31)은 광변환층일 수 있다. 상기 기판(31)이 광변환층인 경우 투과하는 광의 편광방향 및 위상을 변환시켜 출력할 수 있다.

상기 기판(31)이 편광판을 포함하는 경우 상기 기판(31)은 투과하는 광을 편광된 광으로 변환하여 출력할 수 있다. 상기 편광판은 투과축과 흡수축을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 편광판에 조사된 광은 투과축과 평행하는 방향으로 편광된 광을 투과하고, 나머지 광은 흡수하여 결과적으로 편광된 광을 출력할 수 있다.
상기 기판(31)이 위상차판을 포함하는 경우 상기 기판(31)은 투과하는 광의 위상을 변환하여 출력할 수 있다. 상기 위상차판은 입사되는 광을 λ/4 만큼 지연시키는 QWP(Quarter Wave Plate)일 수 있다. 상기 위상차판에 원편광이 입사되는 경우 이를 선편광으로 변환하고, 선편광이 입사되는 경우 이를 원편광으로 변환할 수 있다.
도시하지 않았지만, 상기 터치모듈(20)은 상기 터치패널(30)에 부착되는 광변환층을 포함할 수도 있다. 상기 터치패널(30)에 부착되는 광변환층 또한 편광판 및 위상차판을 포함하거나, 광변환층 또는 위상차판을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 터치패널(30) 상에는 상기 제2 접착층(50)이 적층될 수 있다.
상기 제2 접착층(50)은 상기 터치패널(30)과 커버필름(60) 사이에 위치할 수 있다. 상기 제2 접착층(50)에 의해 상기 터치패널(30)과 상기 커버필름(60)이 부착될 수 있다. 상기 제2 접착층(50)은 양면에 접착제가 도포된 형태로 제공될 수 있다.
상기 제2 접착층(50)은 광투명 접착제를 포함할 수 있다. 상기 터치패널(30)의 전면에 상기 제2 접착층(50)이 도포되어 상기 커버필름(60)이 부착될 수도 있고, 상기 터치패널(30)의 일부영역에만 상기 제2 접착층(50)이 도포되어 상기 커버필름(60)이 부착될 수도 있다.

제2 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 168um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 30um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 18%이고, 탄성률은 3298Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 124.0MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
제3 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 188um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 50um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 27%이고, 탄성률은 2947Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 135.9MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
제4 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 198um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 60um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 30%이고, 탄성률은 2798Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 141.9MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
제5 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 218um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 80um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 37%이고, 탄성률은 2542Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 153.7MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
제6 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 213um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 75um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 35%이고, 탄성률은 2601Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 150.8MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
제7 실험 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 213um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 75um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 35%이고, 탄성률은 2601Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 150.8MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체구성에는 크랙이 발생하지 않는다.
상기 제6 실험 예와 제7 실험 예에서의 접착층의 두께의 합은 동일하나, 상기 제6 실험 예에서는 상기 제1 접착층(40)의 두께를 25um로 형성하고, 상기 제2 접착층(50)의 두께를 50um로 형성하였다. 또한, 제7 실험 예에서는 상기 제1 접착층(40)의 두께를 50um로 형성하고, 상기 제2 접착층(50)의 두께를 25um로 형성하였다. 상기 제 6 실험 예 및 제7 실험 예를 통해, 상기 접착층의 두께의 합이 동일하다면, 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께비가 다르더라도, 동일한 탄성률과 폴딩 스트레스를 가지는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
제 1 내지 제4 비교 예는 크랙이 발생하였을 때의 접착층의 두께와 전체두께 대비 접착층의 두께를 나타낸다.
제1 비교 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 238um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 100um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 42%이고, 탄성률은 2328Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 165.6MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 어느 하나의 구성에서 크랙이 발생한다.
제2 비교 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 288um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 150um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 52%이고, 탄성률은 1924Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 195.4MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 어느 하나의 구성에서 크랙이 발생한다.
제3 비교 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 338um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 200um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 59%이고, 탄성률은 1639Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 225.1MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 어느 하나의 구성에서 크랙이 발생한다.
제4 비교 예는 상기 표시장치(1)의 전체두께(h)를 288um로 형성하고, 제1 접착층(40)의 제4 두께(d4) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 제5 두께(d5)의 합을 150um로 형성한 경우를 나타낸다. 이 때, 상기 표시장치(1) 전체두께(h) 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께는 52%이고, 탄성률은 1924Mpa, 폴딩 스트레스는 180.5MPa이다. 이 경우 상기 표시장치(1)의 어느 하나의 구성에서 크랙이 발생한다.
상기 표시장치(1)의 두께 대비 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께의 비가 7% 내지 40%일 때 크랙이 발생하지 않고, 조립 안정성이 향상될 수 있다. 상기 표시장치(1)의 두께 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께의 비가 7% 미만일 경우 상기 표시장치(1), 터치모듈(20) 및 커버필름(60)을 접착시키는 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 접착력을 보장할 수 없어 조립 안정성을 보장할 수 없다. 또한, 상기 표시장치(1)의 두께 대비 상기 제1 접착층(40) 및 제2 접착층(50)의 두께의 비가 40% 초과일 경우 비교 예와 같이 표시장치(1)의 구성에 크랙이 발생하여 불량이 발생할 수 있다.
도 4는 실시 예에 따른 터치모듈 및 표시장치가 적용된 디바이스에 대한 사시도이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 상기 디바이스(1000)에는 외부로부터 명령 입력을 위한 입력버튼(1100), 정지영상 및 동영상 촬영을 위한 카메라(1200) 및 음성을 출력하는 스피커(1300)가 형성될 수 있다.
상기 디바이스(1000)는 앞서 설명한 표시장치(1)를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 표시장치(1)는 모바일 폰, TV, 네비게이션 장치 등 다양한 제품에 적용될 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 터치모듈이 적용되는 장치로 표시장치를 예로 들어 설명하였으나, 본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 터치모듈이 적용되는 장치는 이에 한정되지 않고, 키패드, 노트북용 터치 패드, 차량용 터치 입력 장치 등 다양한 제품에 이용될 수 있다.
상기에서는 본 발명에 따른 실시예를 기준으로 본 발명의 구성과 특징을 설명하였으나 본 발명은 이에 한정되지 않으며, 본 발명의 사상과 범위 내에서 다양하게 변경 또는 변형할 수 있음은 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야의 당업자에게 명백한 것이며, 따라서 이와 같은 변경 또는 변형은 첨부된 특허청구범위에 속함을 밝혀둔다.
실시 예는 표시장치 분야에서 이용될 수 있다.

Claims (8)

  1. 표시장치에 있어서,
    표시패널;
    상기 표시패널 상에 위치하는 터치모듈;
    상기 터치모듈 상에 위치하는 커버필름;
    상기 표시패널과 터치모듈 사이에 위치하는 제1접착층; 및
    상기 터치모듈과 커버필름 사이에 위치하는 제2 접착층을 포함하고,
    상기 제1 접착층 및 제2 접착층은 상기 표시장치 대비 7% 내지 40%의 두께를 가지는 표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 표시장치는 폴딩 스트레스가 160Mpa이하인 표시장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서,
    상기 표시장치의 폴딩 스트레스는 하기의 수학식 1에 의해 정의되는 표시장치.

  4. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 표시장치의 탄성률은 2600Mpa이상인 표시장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 터치모듈은 광변환층을 포함하는 표시장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서,
    상기 광변환층은 편광판 또는 위상차 필름 중 어느 하나를 포함하는 표시장치.
  7. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 표시패널은 유기발광 표시패널인 표시장치.
  8. 제1항에 있어서,
    상기 제1 접착층 및 제2 접착층은 광투명 접착제를 포함하는 표시장치.
