실시예는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 위치를 조정할 수 있는 보정렌즈에 의해 사용자의 시력에 맞춰 영상을 선명하게 볼 수 있는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이에 관한 것이다.
헤드 마운티드 디스플레이(Head Mounted Display : HMD)는 사용자의 양안에 근접 착용하여 영상을 볼 수 있도록 된 장치로서, 개인적으로 착용할 수 있고, 크기가 작으면서도 넓은 시야각의 화면을 제공할 수 있는 장점 때문에 그 이용이 확산되고 있다.
그리고, 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이는 LCD나 CRT와 같은 디스플레이 장치에 표시되는 영상을 광학계에 의해 확대시켜 사용자에게 보여주는 장치이다. 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이는 눈과 매우 가까운 위치에 영상 스크린이 위치하기 때문에 매우 짧은 거리에 촛점을 맞추어야 할 뿐만 아니라 눈에 피로감을 주지 않도록 하기 위하여 매우 정밀한 광학 장치들이 요구된다.
종래의 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이가 한국공개특허 제10-2013-0037344호에서 개시되어 있는데, 종래의 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이는 입력되는 이미지 신호를 표시하는 착용형 디스플레이 시스템에 있어서, 이미지 신호를 확대하는 대물 렌즈와, 대물 렌즈를 통해 확대된 이미지 신호를 소정 각도로 회절시키는 회절 격자와, 회절 격자에 의해 회절된 신호를 전파시키는 도파로와, 도파로를 통해 전파된 이미지 신호의 상을 맺어 사용자가 볼 수 있도록 하는 접안 렌즈를 포함함으로써, 표시할 이미지를 굴절렌즈에 의해 1차로 확대하고 접안렌즈에 의해 2차로 확대한 고배율의 이미지를 얻을 수 있고, 사용자의 시계를 최대한 확보할 수 있게 해 주는 효과가 있다.
그러나, 안경을 착용한 사용자가 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 착용할 경우 착용감이 불편하거나 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이만을 착용할 경우 영상을 선명하게 볼 수 없는 문제점이 있다.
실시예는 상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 안출된 것으로, 사용자의 시력에 맞춰 보정렌즈의 위치를 조절할 수 있는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 제공하고자 한다.
상기와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 실시예는 광원; 상기 광원의 광축 상에 배치되는 렌즈부; 상기 렌즈부와 이격되어 배치되는 영상 표시부; 및 상기 영상 표시부와 이격되어 배치되고, 상하면의 중앙부에 돌출부가 배치되는 보정렌즈를 포함하고, 상기 돌출부가 관통하여 상기 보정렌즈가 이동하는 경로를 형성하는 제1 홀이 상기 광축과 나란한 방향으로 배치되는 바디; 상기 제1 홀을 관통한 상기 돌출부와 결합되는 적어도 하나의 제2 홀이 배치되고, 상기 바디를 둘러싸고, 상기 광축과 나란한 방향으로 이동하는 보정렌즈 위치 조절부; 및 상기 바디에 연결되어 배치되는 영상 뷰잉부를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 제공한다.

상술한 바와 같은 실시예에 의하면, 보정렌즈의 위치를 조절하여 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 사용자의 시력에 맞게 영상을 선명하게 볼 수 있는 효과가 있다.
또한, 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 안경을 쓰지 않고 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이만을 착용하여 영상을 볼 수 있으므로 착용감을 개선하여 사용자의 불편함을 해소해 줄 수 있는 효과가 있다.

이하 상기의 목적을 구체적으로 실현할 수 있는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 첨부한 도면을 참조하여 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도 1은 실시예에 따른 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 나타내는 사시도이고, 도 2는 도 1의 A-A' 단면을 나타내는 단면사시도이며, 도 3은 실시예에 따른 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 나타내는 분해 사시도이다.
도 1 내지 도 3을 참조하면, 본 실시예에 따른 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이(1000)는 광원(110), 렌즈부(120), 영상 표시부(130) 및 보정렌즈(140)를 포함하는 바디(100), 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200) 및 영상 뷰잉부(300)를 포함한다.
바디(100)에는 광원(110), 렌즈부(120), 영상 표시부(130) 및 보정렌즈(140)가 나란히 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 광원(110)은 바디(100)의 일단에 배치되어 후술할 영상 표시부의 디스플레이 소자의 백라이트 역할을 할 수 있다. 아울러, 광원(110)은 LED(Light Emitting Diode), CCFL(Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light) 등을 포함하는 램프로 구비되어 램프의 광량에 따라 영상의 휘도를 조절할 수 있다.
또한, 렌즈부(120)는 광원(110)의 광축 상에 배치되고, 광원의 빛 진행방향 전방에 위치하여 광원(110)으로부터 출사된 빛을 모아 높은 조도로 영상 표시부(130)를 투과할 수 있다. 그리고, 렌즈부(120)는 제1 렌즈(122)와 제2 렌즈(124)를 포함할 수 있으며, 제1 렌즈(122)와 제2 렌즈(124)는 적어도 하나의 구면렌즈 또는 적어도 하나의 비구면렌즈 중 선택된 렌즈의 조합으로 구성될 수 있다.
아울러, 영상 표시부(130)는 광원(110)의 광축 상에 배치되면서 렌즈부(120)와 이격되어 배치되고, 영상(image)를 구성하는 빛을 출사하는 역할을 한다. 그리고, 영상 표시부(130)는 디스플레이 소자(134)와, 디스플레이 소자(134)가 실장되는 기판(132)을 포함할 수 있다. 실시예에서, 디스플레이 소자(134)는 광원이 결합되는 투과형 LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)가 구비되었으나, 광원이 필요없는 OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diodes) 등과 같은 다양한 장치 또는 소자로 구현될 수 있다.
그리고, 보정렌즈(140)는 영상 표시부(130)와 이격되어 배치되고, 바디(100)에 연결되어 배치되는 영상 뷰잉부(300)와 영상 표시부(130) 사이에서 이동할 수 있다.
여기서, 보정렌즈(140)는 음의 굴절능을 가지며, 영상 표시부(130)와 영상 뷰잉부(300) 사이에서 보정렌즈(140)의 위치를 이동시켜 영상 표시부(130)로부터 제공되는 영상이 사용자의 시력에 맞게 선명한 영상이 전달되도록 영상 초점의 위치를 조절할 수 있다.
그리고, 보정렌즈(140)가 영상 뷰잉부(300)와 영상 표시부(130) 사이에서 이동할 수 있는 구조를 자세히 설명하면 다음과 같다.
도 4a는 실시예에 따른 보정렌즈 위치 조절부를 나타내는 사시도이고, 도 4b는 실시예에 따른 보정렌즈 위치 조절부를 나타내는 분해 사시도이다.
도 4a와 도 4b를 참조하면, 보정렌즈(140) 상하면의 중앙부에 돌출부(142)가 배치될 수 있는데, 돌출부(142)는 보정렌즈(140)의 상면에 형성되는 제1 돌출부(142a)와 보정렌즈(140)의 하면에 형성되는 제2 돌출부(142b)를 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)는 상하 대칭되는 위치에서 원기둥 형태로 형성될 수 있다.
또한, 돌출부(142)가 관통하여 보정렌즈(140)가 이동할 수 있는 경로를 형성하는 제1 홀(150)이 바디(100)에 형성될 수 있는데, 제1 돌출부(142a)가 관통하는 제1-1 홀(150-1)과 제2 돌출부(142b)가 관통하는 제1-2 홀(150-2)이 바디(100)의 상하면에 각각 형성될 수 있다.
여기서, 제1-1 홀(150-1)과 제1-2 홀(150-2)은 광축과 나란한 방향(바디의 길이방향)으로 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 제1-1 홀(150-1)과 제1-2 홀(150-2)에 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)가 이동할 수 있도록 제1-1 홀(150-1)과 제1-2 홀(150-2)의 폭은 각각 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)의 직경보다 넓게 형성될 수 있다.
상술한 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)가 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)와 결합하여 보정렌즈(140)의 위치를 이동시킬 수 있는데, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)는 바디(100)를 둘러싸고, 광축과 나란한 방향으로 이동함으로써 보정렌즈(140)의 위치를 조절할 수 있다.
그리고, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)는 '┌┐'의 단면형상을 갖는 상부 프레임(210)과 '└┘' 의 단면형상을 갖는 하부 프레임(220)을 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상부 프레임(210)의 내측 폭은 바디(100)의 너비와 같게 형성되어 상부 프레임(210)이 바디(100)의 측면과 상부면의 일부를 감싸도록 배치되고, 바디(100)의 하부면과 상부 프레임(210)의 측면을 감싸도록 하부 프레임(220)이 배치될 수 있다.
아울러, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)는 상부 프레임(210)과 하부 프레임(220)을 결합시키는 결합유닛(230)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
여기서, 결합유닛(230)은 상부 프레임(210)의 양측면 하단부에 배치되는 결합 돌출부(232)와 결합 돌출부(232)에 대응되도록 하부 프레임(220)의 양측면에 형성되는 결합홀(234)을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 결합 돌출부(232)는 상부 프레임(210)의 측면에 대하여 상방향으로 경사지도록 형성될 수 있고, 이와 같이 형성된 결합 돌출부(232)의 경사면을 따라 하부 프레임(220)의 결합홀(234)에 결합 돌출부(232)가 쉽게 결합될 수 있다.
그리고, 결합 돌출부(232) 상단면의 두께는 하부 프레임(220)의 측벽 두께와 대응되도록 형성되어 결합 돌출부(232)가 결합홀(234)에 끼워짐과 동시에 결합 돌출부(232)의 상단면과 결합홀(234)의 윗면이 맞닿으면서 상부 프레임(210)과 하부 프레임(220)이 결합될 수 있다.
또한, 결합 돌출부(232)와 결합홀(234)이 결합되었을 때, 결합 돌출부(232)가 결합홀(234)로부터 이탈되지 않도록 하부 프레임(220)에는 상부 프레임(210)의 하단면이 맞닿는 걸림 단턱(224)이 배치될 수 있다. 아울러, 상부 프레임(210)에는 하부 프레임(220)의 측벽 두께와 대응되는 높이로 제2 걸림 단턱(214)이 배치될 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같은 결합유닛(230)은 결합 돌출부(232)가 결합홀(234)에 끼워지면서 상부 프레임(210)과 하부 프레임(220)이 결합되는 구조이나 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
한편, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)에는 제1 홀(150)을 관통한 돌출부(142)와 결합되는 적어도 하나의 제2 홀(212, 222)이 배치될 수 있다.
그리고, 제2 홀(212, 222)은 상부 프레임(210)에 형성된 제2-1 홀(212)과 하부 프레임(220)에 형성된 제2-2 홀(222)을 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 제2-1 홀(212)과 제2-2 홀(222)에 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)가 각각 결합될 수 있는데, 제2-1 홀(212)과 제2-2 홀(222)은 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)의 평면형상 및 크기에 대응되도록 형성되어 제2-1 홀(212)과 제2-2 홀(222)에 제1 돌출부(142a)와 제2 돌출부(142b)가 끼움결합될 수 있다.
따라서, 도 1 내지 도 4b에 도시한 바와 같이 보정렌즈(140)가 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)에 결합되어 바디(100)에 배치되는 제2 홀(212, 222)을 따라 광축과 나란한 방향으로 영상 표시부(130)와 영상 뷰잉부(300) 사이에서 보정렌즈(140)의 위치를 조절할 수 있다.
또한, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)를 이동시켜 사용자의 시력에 맞도록 보정렌즈(140)의 위치를 조절한 뒤, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)가 바디(100) 상에서 밀리지 않도록 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)에는 밀림 방지 부재(240)가 더 포함될 수 있다. 그리고, 밀림 방지 부재(240)는 광축 방향과 나란한 방향으로 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 일단과 타단에 각각 배치되고, 밀림 방지 부재(240)는 고무재질로 구비될 수 있다.
이러한 밀림 방지 부재(240)는 사용자가 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)에 일정 힘을 가하면 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)가 이동할 수 있지만, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 이동을 멈춘 경우 바디를 따라 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)가 미세한 거리로 밀리는 것을 방지해 줄 수 있다.
실시예에서는 밀림 방지 부재(240)가 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 일단과 타단에 링형태로 구비될 수 있으나 밀림 방지 부재의 재질이나 형태는 이에 한정하지 않는다.
아울러, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)는 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)를 바디(100)에 고정시키는 고정유닛(250)을 더 포함할 수 있다.
그리고, 고정유닛(250)은 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 일측면에 배치되는 제3 홀(252)과 제3 홀(252)에 결합되는 고정핀(254)을 포함할 수 있다.
실시예에서 제3 홀(252)은 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 상부 프레임(210) 상면 일측에 배치되고, 제3 홀(252)에는 나사선이 형성되어 볼트로 구비되는 고정핀(254)이 제3 홀(252)에 나사결합될 수 있다.
따라서, 사용자의 시력에 맞게 보정렌즈(140)의 위치가 조정되면 고정핀(254)의 하단면이 바디(100)의 상단면을 가압하도록 제3 홀(252)에 고정핀(254)을 나사결합하여 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)를 바디(100)에 고정할 수 있으며, 이러한 고정유닛(250)의 구조는 이에 한정하지 않는다.
한편, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)는 사용자가 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)를 이동시킬 때, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)로부터 사용자의 손이 미끄러지지 않도록 미끄럼 방지부(260)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 그리고, 미끄럼 방지부(260)는 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)의 상하면에 광축 방향과 수직한 방향으로 형성되는 복수의 선형 홈(262)을 포함할 수 있다. 그러나, 보정렌즈 위치 조절부(200)를 이동시킬 때 미끄럼 방지부(260)가 사용자의 손이 보정렌즈 위치 조절부로부터 미끄러지지 않게 할 수 있는 구조라면 이에 한정하지는 않는다.
또한, 바디(100)에는 보정렌즈(140)가 배치되는 위치에 단차면(160)이 형성될 수 있고, 보정렌즈(140)의 양측 가장자리가 단차면(160)을 따라 이동할 수 있다.
그리고, 영상 뷰잉부(300)는 바디(100)에 연결되어 배치될 수 있다. 또한, 영상 뷰잉부(300)는 보정렌즈(140)에서 제공되는 영상의 광축 각도를 변경하여 반사하는 보정미러(도시되지 않음)를 포함할 수 있다.
상술한 바와 같이 보정렌즈(140)가 영상 표시부(130)와 영상 뷰잉부(300) 사이를 이동하면서 사용자의 시력에 맞게 영상의 초점 거리를 조정해 줄 수 있다.
도 5a는 사용자가 근시안일 경우 보정렌즈의 위치를 나타내는 도면이고, 도 5b는 사용자가 원시안일 경우 보정렌즈의 위치를 나타내는 도면이다.
도 5a와 도 5b를 참조하면, 사용자가 근시안일 경우, 초점이 망막에 맺히지 못하고, 망막의 앞쪽에 맺히게 되므로 보정렌즈(140)를 영상 표시부(130)로부터 영상 뷰잉부(300) 쪽으로 이동시켜 영상의 초점 위치를 조절함으로써 영상의 초점이 망막에 맺힐 수 있도록 해 준다.
한편, 사용자가 원시안일 경우, 초점이 망막에 맺히지 못하고, 망막의 뒤쪽에 맺히게 되므로 보정렌즈(140)를 영상 뷰잉부(300)로부터 영상 표시부(130) 쪽으로 이동시켜 영상의 초점 위치를 조절함으로써 영상의 초점이 망막에 맺힐 수 있도록 해 준다.
상술한 바와 같이, 실시예에 의하면 영상 표시부와 영상 뷰잉부 사이에 배치되는 보정렌즈의 위치를 조절하여 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 사용자의 시력에 맞게 영상을 선명하게 볼 수 있고, 또한, 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 안경을 쓰지 않고 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이만을 착용하여 영상을 볼 수 있으므로 안경과 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 함께 착용해야 하는 불편함을 해소하여 착용감을 개선시킬 수 있다.
이상에서 실시예를 중심으로 설명하였으나 이는 단지 예시일 뿐 본 발명을 한정하는 것이 아니며, 본 발명이 속하는 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 실시예의 본질적인 특성을 벗어나지 않는 범위에서 이상에 예시되지 않은 여러 가지의 변형과 응용이 가능함을 알 수 있을 것이다. 예를 들어, 실시예에 구체적으로 나타난 각 구성 요소는 변형하여 실시할 수 있는 것이다. 그리고 이러한 변형과 응용에 관계된 차이점들은 첨부된 청구 범위에서 규정하는 본 발명의 범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.
발명의 실시를 위한 형태는 전술한 "발명의 실시를 위한 최선의 형태"에서 충분히 설명되었다.
실시예는 사용자의 시력에 맞춰 보정렌즈의 위치를 조절할 수 있어 시력이 좋지 않은 사용자가 안경을 쓰지 않고 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이만을 착용하여 영상을 볼 수 있으므로 착용감을 개선한 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이를 구현할 수 있다.

- 광원;상기 광원의 광축 상에 배치되는 렌즈부;상기 렌즈부와 이격되어 배치되는 영상 표시부;상기 영상 표시부와 이격되어 배치되는 영상 뷰잉부;상기 영상 표시부와 상기 영상 뷰잉부 사이에 배치되는 보정렌즈;상기 광축과 나란한 방향으로 배치되고, 상기 광원, 상기 렌즈부 및 상기 영상 표시부가 순차적으로 배치되는 바디; 및상기 바디를 둘러싸고, 상기 영상 표시부와 상기 영상 뷰잉부 사이에서 상기 보정렌즈의 위치를 이동시키는 보정렌즈 위치 조절부를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제11 항에 있어서, 상기 보정렌즈의 상하면에 돌출부가 배치되고,상기 돌출부는 상기 바디에 상기 광축과 나란한 방향으로 형성되는 제1 홀을 관통하여 상기 제1 홀을 따라 이동하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제11 항에 있어서, 상기 렌즈부는제1 렌즈와 제2 렌즈를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제13 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 렌즈와 상기 제2 렌즈는 적어도 하나의 구면렌즈를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제13 항에 있어서, 상기 제1 렌즈와 상기 제2 렌즈는 적어도 하나의 비구면렌즈를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제11 항에 있어서, 상기 보정렌즈는 음의 굴절능을 가지는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제11 항에 있어서, 상기 보정렌즈 위치 조절부는 상기 보정렌즈 위치 조절부를 상기 바디에 고정시키는 고정유닛을 더 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제17 항에 있어서, 상기 고정유닛은상기 보정렌즈 위치 조절부의 일측면에 배치되어 나사선이 형성된 제3 홀; 및상기 제3 홀에 나사결합되는 고정핀을 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 광원, 상기 광원의 광축 상에 렌즈부, 영상 표시부 및 보정렌즈가 순차적으로 배치되는 바디;상기 보정렌즈와 이격되어 배치되고, 상기 바디와 연결되어 배치되는 영상 뷰잉부;상기 바디를 둘러싸고, 상기 보정렌즈의 위치를 이동시키는 보정렌즈 위치 조절부; 및상기 보정렌즈 위치 조절부는 미끄럼 방지부를 포함하는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
- 제19 항에 있어서, 상기 미끄럼 방지부의 상하면에는 상기 광축 방향과 수직한 방향으로 복수의 선형 홈이 형성되는 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이.
