기존에 일반인이 대리인을 찾을 때는 "변리사", "변리협회", "법무법인", "특허사무소" 등의 단어로 포털 사이트 입력창에 입력하거나, 전화번호부의 등재된 정보를 찾게 된다. 또는 기존에 거래해온 대리인, 또는 지인의 소개로 알게 된 대리인을 선택하게 된다. 이 경우, 각 대리인은 각자의 활동영역과 전문분야가 다르기 때문에 일반인은 신뢰성에 있어서 고민을 하게 된다. 본 발명에 의하면, 사용자에게 지식재산 대리인을 검색할 수 있도록 하고, 보다 효율적인 지식재산 대리인 정보를 제공하는 방법 및 시스템을 제공한다는 장점이 있다. 본 발명에 따른 지식재산 대리인 검색 방법은 검색 질의를 수신하는 단계, 수신된 검색 질의에 따른 지식재산 대리인 정보를 선행자료에서 검색하는 단계, 상기 검색된 지식재산 대리인 정보를 제공하는 단계에 의한다.
