pHメーターは、あらかじめpH4.01、6.87、9.21のpHメーター校正液にて校正する。センサーからの出力変動が5秒間で0.1mV以内に安定した点を、その抽出溶液のpHとする。 The oral tobacco composition of the present invention can include an embodiment having a pH of about 8 to about 9. Such a pH range is preferable from the viewpoint of the preservability of the oral tobacco composition and the release of the flavor into the oral cavity.
The pH is measured by the following method.
Collect 400 mg of oral tobacco composition, add 4 mL of pure water, and extract by shaking for 60 minutes.
-The temperature of the extract is adjusted in a closed container until it reaches room temperature in a laboratory controlled at room temperature of 22 ° C.
-After harmonizing, the lid is opened, and the measurement is started by immersing the glass electrode of a pH meter (METTLER TOLEDO: Seven Easy S20) in the collected liquid.
The pH meter is calibrated beforehand with pH meter calibration solutions of pH 4.01, 6.87, and 9.21. The point where the output fluctuation from the sensor is stabilized within 0.1 mV in 5 seconds is defined as the pH of the extraction solution.

In order to test the water retention of the oral tobacco composition of the present invention, the following experiment was conducted.
<Raw material>
Tobacco powder (Those that passed through lamina (deboned leaves) (2.0) mm mesh, those that passed through 1.2 mm mesh of stem (medium bone))
Powdered kelp (thickness passed through 0.25mm mesh)
Square cut kelp (cut into 1mm square)
<Preparation of composition>
A sample in which the tobacco powder is 100% by weight, a sample in which the above-described kelp raw material (powdered kelp or corn cut kelp) is mixed with the tobacco powder so as to be 5% by weight, 10% by weight, 15% by weight, A sample containing 100% by weight of kelp was prepared.
<Preparation of SNUS>
A SNUS pouch (nonwoven fabric) was sealed by containing 0.3 g of the above composition.
Three pouches of each SNUS (0.34 g) prepared above were immersed in excess ion-exchanged water. After 30 minutes, the entire bag was pulled up into the air, placed on a Kimwipe, placed on a 250 g weight from the top, and allowed to stand for 1 minute. And the mass M was measured. The mass at that time was compared with that of 100% by weight of tobacco powder.
The results are shown in Table 1 and FIG. The composition of Table 1 is a weight ratio.
From FIG. 1, compared with SNUS containing 100% by weight of tobacco powder particles, SNUS containing kelp raw material improved water retention. The water retention was almost equal between the powder kelp and the square cut kelp.

About these samples, sensory evaluation was performed about five test subjects about the external scent before eating of a sample, the taste fragrance in eating, and a texture. The specific contents of sensory evaluation are as follows.
(1) Items related to incense before eating: Cigarette-like scent, kelp scent (2) Items related to taste scent during eating: strength of taste, total stimulation / gum pain, sweetness, kelp scent, spiciness , Bitterness, saltiness (3) Items related to texture: fit when held between gums and lips, thirst
The result of sensory evaluation is shown in FIG. From the results shown in FIG. 2, as the content of powdered kelp was increased, the smell and scent of kelp increased and the fit in the oral cavity was also improved.
On the other hand, as the content of powder kelp was increased, total irritation / gingival pain, hotness, bitterness, saltiness and dry mouth decreased.
In FIG. 2, the sensory value 3 was used as a reference (the above-mentioned control example).
From these results, it is considered that the relaxation of the flavor peculiar to tobacco raw materials is caused by the combination of seaweed kelp. In addition, it is considered that the improvement of the fit in the oral cavity results from the improvement of water retention and the gelation of kelp.
