Definitions
- levers are simple mechanisms consisting of a rigid body, usually in the form of bar (rod) with negligible weight, over which three forces Act (Fulcrum, Active force and Resistive Force) and that can rotate around a fulcrum, perpendicular to the reference system, i.e. the Earth's surface.
- Levers can be ordered on Classes, depending on the position of the Rod on the Fulcrum.
- Class 1 called Balance
- the fulcrum is positioned between the application point of the active force on the lever rod and the point of resistive Force, which opposes the force active on the same rod.
- the principle underlying this type of leverage is the subject of this document. We develop a whole new Model, based on the principle of Balance lever, as described above.
- This method has the advantage that we can adjust mechanical equilibrium of the mechanism described above, opening up the two long rods with free ends bearing the shared Effort weight with a convenient angle, which can be a right angle, and with the free ends of the long rods spaced at distances towards the central axis or principal mechanism, so that the mechanism to be in stable equilibrium in relation to the reference grid, that is the Earth's surface.
- this mechanism will resemble a triangle in the Euclidean geometry, in which the long Rod shall play the role of Triangle's Altitude and which is now already being cut into two longitudinal Rods of ECCENTRIC BALANCE, caring at their free ends the equally shared Effort weight, but the forces manifest themselves in this mechanism are: Effort divided into two sides and positioned at the ends of isosceles triangle thus formed, Load positioned at the top of the triangle, in meeting point/embedding with short rod, two long rods and the Fulcrum at the other end of the short Rod, whereas the two long rods plays the role of sides in the triangle.
- Effort's Arm Length is equal to half the projected Altitude of the initial triangle, described above, because we believe to be half of the total length of the arms of the two Forces - Effort and Load, and we believe that the leading edge angle is open enough to be in mechanical equilibrium mechanism of rotation vertically and horizontally in relation to the reference grid the Earth's surface, which is thus consider the angle in question as being at right angle, to be convenient on our intended proof. So we consider the triangle described above as isosceles right triangle and also the sides, respectively the long rods in this mechanism, are open at the same distance from the central axis of the mechanism.
- the ALTITUDE of this triangle initially calculate the trigonometric point of view, as being equal to the numeric value of the cosine of the angle between the long Rods described here above, multiplied by the length of one of the two long rods, length always remains constant, as well as the shared Effort weight applied to the long Rod's free ends:
- AH cos 0.5 a x AB
- AH is the isosceles triangle formed altitude, with the two long rods considered sides triangle
- AB is the length of one of the long rods, respectively the length of the side of the triangle, and a is the measure of angle BAC.
- Torque amount of kinetic momentum transferred / time required to transfer
- Torque ⁇ Fr
- the plus sign or minus sign indicates whether the Torque tends to create motion clockwise or counterclockwise, and we can define r as a point on the arc of a circle positioned described one of the long Rods approaching synchronously relative to the central axis of the mechanism.
