Abstract

The present invention provides a method of developing waxy starch cassava varieties which are homozygous recessive (wxwx), having improved starch properties and lower cyanide content without genetic modification. The present invention also provides starches from cassava varieties with improved properties, as well as the industrial applications of the starches.
