Description
SAFETY BELT WITH AN ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGER ON A SEAT OF A TRANSPORT MEANS SUCH AS A VEHICLE, A PLANE
Object of Invention
[001] The object of the invention is a safety belt with a discharger of static electricity from a user on a seat of a transport means such as a vehicle, a plane.
Technical Problem
[002] The technical problem that is solved by the invention is how to conceive such safety belt on a seat of a transport means, preferably a car, that will provide, while in use, for an automatic constantly controlled electrostatic discharge from a user, for instance a driver or a passenger, without the user doing anything in order to achieve the electrostatic discharge or even knowing that the safety belt performs this task the whole time, even while the user steps out of the vehicle.
Prior Art
[003] The inventors are not acquainted with a car safety belt provided with electrostatic discharge.
[004] Some rare empiric research and medical explanations about the activity of static electricity on a human have shown there are negative effects on respiration, heart beat and consequently the whole human body. In fact, every person feels discomfort during a sudden electrostatic discharge from the body, so there is a need for an electrostatic discharger from a human body in the field of car use.
[005] There are known electrostatic dischargers from a car in the form of an elastic electric strip-like discharger arranged at a front part of the car and in contact with the ground that discharges static electricity from the car but not from the person who creates it himself through friction of his clothes sliding against the upholstery of the
seat. So this accessory does not provide for a person's controlled discharge while getting out of the car and does not provide for constant discharge while driving. The person in the vehicle remains loaded with static electricity which, as shown by experiments, has a negative effect on a person as mentioned above.
[006] The invention is derived from patent application WO2013109196 (Benko, Lazovski, Porcaro), in which a device for a controlled electrostatic discharge from a human body is disclosed. The device can be used anywhere, also in a car. Among others, this device is characterised in that it must be arranged at a car's part that is in contact with the driver or passenger, for instance a steering wheel, a gearshift lever, a door handle and the like. It has been shown that a person can get charged with static electricity from the material of the seat upholstery and the clothes even the very moment when getting out of the vehicle as considerable friction appears between person's clothes sliding against the seat's upholstery and consequently the person gets charged with static electricity and uncomfortably discharged in an uncontrolled manner while stepping out of the car and then contacting the car again, for instance when grabbing the door handle for closing the door or other electrically conductive objects in the vicinity.
Solution to the Technical Problem
[007] The described technical problem is solved by a safety belt of the invention. A connection of a safety belt and an electrostatic discharger derives from the nature of use of the safety belt, with which a driver or a passenger is in constant contact during a ride. A user thus gets discharged all the time and permanent detrimental situation of a charged person is herewith done away with. When a person is getting out of the car, the safety belt is one of the last parts of the car, with which the person remains in longest contact. In fact, a person getting out the car is exposed to the longest automatic discharge. If the person gets somewhat charged after having removed the safety belt, this quantity of static electricity is too low to cause painful discharge once the person gets out and then touches the car again when closing the door for instance.
[008] The present invention is characterised in that the strip of the car's safety belt is provided with an electrically conductive layer that is in permanent contact with the user of the safety belt, wherein the electrically conductive layer is connected in series via an assembly for a controlled electrostatic discharge in persons according to the above-mentioned application WO2013109196, preferably according to its second or third embodiment, to the car's bodywork.
[009] The essence of the invention will be explained in more detail in the continuation by way of an embodiment with reference to the enclosed drawings representing in
Fig. 1 front view of a three-point safety belt of the invention integrated at a seat and at a bodywork;
Fig. 2 detail of a device for a controlled electrostatic discharge on a safety belt provided with an electrically conductive layer.
[0010] A car's safety belt with an electrostatic discharger from a user comprises a strip 2 that is fastened to a bodywork 1 in several points by means of a fastening means 3, and a lock 4 that is slidingly arranged on the belt 2 and coupled, while the safety belt is in use, with a corresponding element 5 fastened to the bodywork 1.
[0011] The strip 2 is provided at least on one side, preferably on both sides, with an electrically conductive layer 6. The layer 6 is electrically connected in series to the bodywork 1 via an assembly 7 for controlled electrostatic discharge.
[0012] The layer 6 is part of the fabric of the strip 2 from electrically conductive filaments 8. The electrically conductive filaments 8 can be interwoven in any pattern. The pattern of the layer 6 can only have a functional nature in terms of electrical conductivity, however, it can be provided with an aesthetic or any other message.
[0013] The assembly 7 for controlled electrostatic discharge comprises a device 9 according to patent application WO2013109196, wherein the assembly 7 connects in
series the layer 6 and an electric conductor 10 that is electrically connected to the bodywork 1.
[0014] The assembly 7 combined with the use of the device 9 according to the second and third embodiments of patent application WO2013109196 has the device 9 connected in an electrically conductive way between two metallic plates 11, wherein one plate is electrically connected with the layer 6 and the other is connected via the electric conductor 10 with the bodywork 1.
[0015] In special circumstances that are previously measured and which are anticipated to create a relatively low quantity of static electricity, the safety belt of the invention can be embodied without the special assembly 7 for controlled electrostatic discharge as the layer 6 is sufficient in such event to lag the discharge.
[0016] It goes without saying that a person skilled in the art can design other embodiments based on being acquainted with the essence of this invention without circumventing the characteristics of the invention defined in the appended claims.
