As shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 4, the airbag 101 includes a main panel 21, a sub panel 40, a left panel 23, and a right panel 22. The left panel 23 and the right panel 22 are a pair of side panels that face each other in the vehicle width direction 5. The left panel 23 is an inner panel in the vehicle width direction 5, and the right panel 22 is an outer panel in the vehicle width direction 5.
In the main chamber 14, the outer peripheral portions of the left panel 23 and the right panel 22 and the pair of side edges on both sides of the strip-shaped main panel 21 are joined together by stitching or the like at linear joining portions 53 and 54. An expansion chamber is formed. The joint 53 is an example of a third joint that joins the left edge of the main panel 21 and the outer periphery of the left panel 23 so that the left edge of the main panel 21 circulates around the outer periphery of the left panel 23. is there. The joint 54 is an example of a fourth joint that joins the right edge of the main panel 21 and the outer periphery of the right panel 22 so that the right edge of the main panel 21 circulates around the outer periphery of the right panel 22. is there.
The left panel 23 has at least one vent hole 25, and the right panel 22 has at least one vent hole 24. The vent holes 24 and 25 are openings that allow the gas in the main chamber 14 to be exhausted outside the main chamber 14. 2, 3, and 4 show an example in which one vent hole is formed in each of the left panel 23 and the right panel 22.

<The manufacturing method of the airbag 101>
Next, an example of a method for manufacturing the airbag 101 will be described.
FIG. 5 is a plan view showing an example of each configuration before the sub panel 40 and the main panel 21 are joined. FIG. 5A is a plan view showing an example of the sub-panel 40. FIG. 5B is a plan view showing an example of the main panel 21. Both the main panel 21 and the sub panel 40 are a sheet-like base fabric.
The main panel 21 is an example of a strip-shaped main panel. For example, the left edge portion 34, the right edge portion 33, a pair of attachment end portions 26 and 27, an intermediate portion 30, and a pair of extending portions 31 and 32. And have.
The left edge portion 34 is one side edge portion in the width direction 8 of the main panel 21, and is an example of a first side edge portion in the width direction 8 of the main panel 21. The right edge portion 33 is the other side edge portion of the main panel 21 in the width direction 8 and is an example of a second side edge portion on the opposite side of the left edge portion 34 in the width direction 8. The left edge portion 34 and the right edge portion 33 each extend in the longitudinal direction 7 of the main panel 21 from the attachment end portion 26 to the attachment end portion 27.
The attachment end portion 26 is one end portion in the longitudinal direction 7 of the main panel 21. The attachment end 27 is the other end portion of the main panel 21 in the longitudinal direction 7, and is the end portion on the opposite side of the attachment end portion 26 in the longitudinal direction 7. For example, the attachment end portion 26 has a pair of attachment holes 86, and the attachment end portion 27 has a pair of attachment holes 87.
5B, the intermediate portion 30 is an example of a first intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction 7 of the main panel 21 and is located between the pair of extending portions 31 and 32. The pair of extending portions 31 and 32 are connected to both sides in the longitudinal direction 7 of the intermediate portion 30, and one extending portion 31 extends in the longitudinal direction 7 from the intermediate portion 30 toward the attachment end portion 26, and the other extending portion The portion 32 extends in the longitudinal direction 7 from the intermediate portion 30 toward the attachment end portion 27. The extending part 31 has an attachment port 11 into which the gas ejection part of the inflator 2 is inserted.
The intermediate portion 30 is wider than the pair of extending portions 31, 32 in the width direction 8 of the main panel 21, and the width L5 of the intermediate portion 30 is wider than the width L6 of the pair of extending portions 31, 32. The intermediate portion 30 is a portion that receives the head of the passenger in the passenger seat when the airbag 101 is inflated and deployed. Therefore, since the intermediate portion 30 is wider than the pair of extending portions 31 and 32 in the width direction 8, the head of the passenger in the passenger seat can be reliably received.
The left edge portion 34 of the intermediate portion 30 protrudes leftward with respect to the left edge portion 34 of the pair of extending portions 31 and 32, and the right edge portion 33 of the intermediate portion 30 is the right edge of the pair of extending portions 31 and 32. Projects to the right with respect to the portion 33. The left edge portion 34 of the intermediate portion 30 and the right edge portion 33 of the intermediate portion 30 have linear portions 36 that are parallel to each other, and the left edge portion 34 of the extending portion 31 and the right edge portion 33 of the extending portion 31 are parallel to each other. The left edge portion 34 of the extending portion 32 and the right edge portion 33 of the extending portion 32 have linear portions 38 that are parallel to each other.
The intermediate portion 30 protrudes on both sides of the left edge portion 34 and the right edge portion 33 with the same protrusion amount with respect to the pair of extending portions 31, 32, and the width L7 and the width L8 are equal to each other. The width L7 is the maximum distance between the center line 81 and the left edge portion 34 of the intermediate portion 30, and the width L8 is the maximum distance between the center line 81 and the right edge portion 33 of the intermediate portion 30. The center line 81 is a straight line that bisects the width L6, and passes through the center 80 of the circular attachment port 11, for example.
The left edge portion 34 and the right edge portion 33 each have a curved portion 39 between the intermediate portion 30 and the pair of extending portions 31 and 32. By providing the curved portion 39, even if the intermediate portion 30 is wider than the pair of extending portions 31 and 32, the joining operation of the left edge portion 34 and the outer peripheral portion 82 (see FIG. 8) of the left panel 23, And the joining operation | work of the right edge part 33 and the outer peripheral part 83 (refer FIG. 9) of the right panel 22 becomes easy. For example, as compared with the case where each of the left edge portion 34 and the right edge portion 33 has a right angle between the intermediate portion 30 and the pair of extending portions 31 and 32, the joining work by stitching or the like is facilitated.
The sub-panel 40 is an example of a sub-panel that is joined to the intermediate portion 30 and has a length in the longitudinal direction 7 shorter than that of the main panel 21. The length L1 of the sub-panel 40 in the longitudinal direction 7 is shorter than the length L3 of the main panel 21 in the longitudinal direction 7 and shorter than the length L4 of the intermediate portion 30 in the longitudinal direction 7. The shape of the sub panel 40 is, for example, an oval formed so that the length L2 in the width direction 8 of the sub panel 40 is longer than the length L1. The sub-panel 40 has a semicircular left outer edge portion 44 and a semicircular right outer edge portion 43.
FIG. 6 is a diagram illustrating an example of a joining process and a drilling process between the main panel 21 and the sub-panel 40. FIG. 6A is a plan view showing an example of a form in which the sub panel 40 and the main panel 21 are joined by the joining portion 51 and the holes 35 and 42 are provided. FIG. 6B is a cross-sectional view taken along a cross section BB in the form of FIG.
After the sub panel 40 is overlaid on the main panel 21, the intermediate part 41 of the sub panel 40 is joined to the intermediate part 30 of the main panel 21 by stitching or the like at the linear joint part 51. The intermediate portion 41 is an example of a second intermediate portion in the width direction 8 of the sub panel 40. The joint portion 51 is an example of an annular first joint portion that joins the intermediate portion 41 closer to the left edge portion 34 of the intermediate portion 30.
The length L11 in the longitudinal direction 7 of the joined portion 51 is longer than the length L12 in the width direction 8 of the joined portion 51. Since the length L11 is longer than the length L12, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3, and 4, it is possible to stably stand up the subchamber 16 at the time of expansion and deployment. When the shape of the joint portion 51 is oval, the sub-chamber 16 can be raised more stably.
The hole 35 is an example of a first hole provided in the intermediate portion 30 of the main panel 21 and provided inside the annular joint portion 51. The hole 42 is an example of a second hole provided in the intermediate portion 41 of the sub-panel 40 and provided inside the annular joint portion 51. The hole 35 penetrates the intermediate part 30, and the hole 42 penetrates the intermediate part 41. The number of each of the holes 35 and 42 may be one or plural. The outer shapes of the holes 35 and 42 are each circular, but may be other shapes other than circular.
The holes 35 and 42 are preferably formed after the intermediate portion 30 and the intermediate portion 41 are joined by the joint portion 51. Since the intermediate part 30 and the intermediate part 41 are joined by the joint part 51, the formation position of the holes 35 and 42 can be prevented from being shifted when the holes 35 and 42 are formed. The holes 35 and 42 are formed so as to overlap each other, so that the two holes 35 and 42 can be formed by a single drilling operation, and the gas flow from the main chamber 14 to the sub-chamber 16 is made smooth. (See FIG. 1).
FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating an example of a process of joining the outer edge portions of the sub-panel 40 together. FIG. 7A is a plan view showing an example of a form in which the left outer edge portion 44 and the right outer edge portion 43 are joined by the joint portion 52. FIG. 7B is a side view from the left side face 46 side of the form of FIG. FIG. 7C is a cross-sectional view taken along the line CC in the form of FIG.
The left side surface 46 and the right side surface 45 are folded back at the joint portion 51 so as to overlap each other, and then the left outer edge portion 44 and the right outer edge portion 43 are joined by stitching or the like at the linear and semicircular joint portion 52. . The joint portion 52 is an example of a second joint portion that overlaps and joins the pair of right outer edge portion 43 and left outer edge portion 44. Thereby, the semi-circular sub-chamber 16 is formed in the side view.
FIG. 8 is a plan view showing an example of the left panel 23. FIG. 9 is a plan view showing an example of the right panel 22. The left panel 23 is an example of a first side panel that is joined to the left edge 34 of the main panel 21. The right panel 22 is an example of a second side panel joined to the right edge portion 33 of the main panel 21. Each of the left panel 23 and the right panel 22 is a single base fabric formed in a rounded polygonal sheet.
The left panel 23 has an outer peripheral portion 82 joined to the left edge portion 34 of the main panel 21, and the outer peripheral portion 82 and the left edge portion 34 are joined to each other at corresponding joint locations A1, B1, C1, D1. (See FIGS. 7 and 8). In this way, the left edge portion 34 and the outer peripheral portion 82 are joined by sewing or the like so that the left edge portion 34 circulates around the outer peripheral portion 82.
The right panel 22 has an outer peripheral portion 83 joined to the right edge portion 33 of the main panel 21, and the outer peripheral portion 83 and the right edge portion 33 are joined to each other at corresponding joint locations E1, F1, G1, and H1. (See FIGS. 7 and 9). In this manner, the right edge portion 33 and the outer peripheral portion 83 are joined by stitching or the like so that the right edge portion 33 circulates around the outer peripheral portion 83.
Therefore, as described above, the sub-panel 16 and the main panel 21 are overlapped to perform the drilling operation, and then the sub-chamber 16 is easily formed by performing a simple bonding operation for bonding the outer edges of the sub-panel 40 to each other. it can. And the main chamber 14 joined to the sub chamber 16 so that gas can distribute | circulate can be easily formed by performing the simple joining operation | work which joins the side edge part of the main panel 21, and the outer peripheral part of a pair of side panel. Thus, the airbag 101 having the main chamber 14 and the sub chamber 16 can be easily manufactured.
Further, even if the passenger's head moves obliquely toward the center console 9 due to the inertial collision of the vehicle, the inflated airbag 101 receives the passenger's face at the intermediate portion 30 of the main panel 21. However, the side surface of the passenger's head can be received by the right side surface 45 of the sub-chamber 16.
<Configuration of Airbag 102>
FIG. 10 is a left perspective view showing an example of the form of the inflated and deployed airbag 102. FIG. 11 is a right perspective view showing an example of the configuration of the inflated and deployed airbag 102. FIG. The illustrated airbag 102 is an example of a passenger seat airbag when the passenger seat is located on the right side of the front row. A description of the same configuration as that of the above-described airbag 101 is omitted.
As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the airbag 102 includes a main panel 61, a sub panel 40, a left panel 93, and a right panel 92. The left panel 93 and the right panel 92 are a pair of side panels that face each other in the vehicle width direction 5. The airbag 102 is different from the above-described airbag 101 having the symmetric main panel 21 in that the strip-shaped main panel 61 is asymmetric.
<Method for Manufacturing Airbag 102>
Next, an example of a method for manufacturing the airbag 102 will be described. The description of the manufacturing process similar to that of the above-described airbag 102 is omitted.
FIG. 12 is a plan view showing an example of each configuration before the sub panel 40 and the main panel 61 are joined. FIG. 12A is a plan view showing an example of the sub-panel 40. FIG. 12B is a plan view showing an example of the main panel 61. The main panel 61 and the sub panel 40 are both a sheet-like base fabric.
The main panel 61 is an example of a strip-shaped main panel. For example, the left edge portion 74, the right edge portion 73, the pair of attachment end portions 26 and 27, the intermediate portion 70, and the pair of extending portions 71 and 72. And have.
The left edge portion 74 is one side edge portion in the width direction 8 of the main panel 61, and is an example of a first side edge portion in the width direction 8 of the main panel 61. The right edge 73 is the other side edge of the main panel 61 in the width direction 8 and is an example of a second side edge opposite to the left edge 74 in the width direction 8. The left edge portion 74 and the right edge portion 73 respectively extend in the longitudinal direction 7 of the main panel 61 from the attachment end portion 26 to the attachment end portion 27.
The intermediate portion 70 is an example of a first intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction 7 of the main panel 61 and is located between the pair of extending portions 71 and 72.
The intermediate portion 70 is wider than the pair of extending portions 71 and 72 in the width direction 8 of the main panel 61, and the width L25 of the intermediate portion 70 is larger than the width L26 of the pair of extending portions 71 and 72. The intermediate portion 70 is a portion that receives the head of the passenger in the passenger seat when the airbag 102 is inflated and deployed. Therefore, the area of the panel that can receive the head of the occupant can be increased.
The intermediate portion 70 protrudes larger than the left edge portion 74 toward the right edge portion 73, and the width L27 is larger than the width L28. The width L27 is the maximum distance between the center line 81 and the left edge portion 74 of the intermediate portion 70, and the width L28 is the maximum distance between the center line 81 and the right edge portion 73 of the intermediate portion 70. The intermediate portion 70 protrudes larger than the left edge portion 74 side protrudes toward the right edge portion 73 side, so that the passenger's head toward the center console 9 can be reliably received.
The point which has the straight part 36,37,38, the curve part 39, and the subpanel 40 is the same as that of the above-mentioned airbag 101. FIG.
FIG. 13 is a diagram illustrating an example of a joining process and a drilling process between the main panel 61 and the sub-panel 40. FIG. 13A is a plan view showing an example of a form in which the sub panel 40 and the main panel 61 are joined by the joining portion 51 and the holes 35 and 42 are provided. FIG. 13B is a cross-sectional view taken along the line DD in the form of FIG. The description of FIG. 13 is omitted by using the description of FIG.
FIG. 14 is a diagram illustrating an example of a process of joining the outer edge portions of the sub-panel 40 to each other. FIG. 14A is a plan view showing an example of a form in which the left outer edge portion 44 and the right outer edge portion 43 are joined by the joint portion 52. FIG. 14B is a side view from the left side 46 side of the configuration of FIG. FIG. 14C is a cross-sectional view taken along a section EE of the form of FIG. The description of FIG. 14 is omitted by using the description of FIG.
FIG. 15 is a plan view showing an example of the left panel 93. FIG. 16 is a plan view showing an example of the right panel 92. The left panel 93 is an example of a first side panel that is joined to the left edge 74 of the main panel 61. The right panel 92 is an example of a second side panel that is joined to the right edge 73 of the main panel 61. Each of the left panel 93 and the right panel 92 is a single base fabric formed in a rounded polygonal sheet shape.
The left panel 93 has an outer peripheral portion 84 joined to the left edge portion 74 of the main panel 61, and the outer peripheral portion 84 and the left edge portion 74 are joined to each other at corresponding joint locations A2, B2, C2, and D2. (See FIGS. 14 and 15). Thus, the left edge portion 74 and the outer peripheral portion 84 are joined by stitching or the like so that the left edge portion 74 circulates around the outer peripheral portion 84. That is, the joint portion 53 in FIG. 10 is an example of a third joint portion that joins the left edge portion 74 and the outer peripheral portion 84 so that the left edge portion 74 circulates around the outer peripheral portion 84.
The right panel 92 has an outer peripheral portion 85 joined to the right edge portion 73 of the main panel 61, and the outer peripheral portion 85 and the right edge portion 73 are joined to each other at corresponding joint locations E2, F2, G2, and H2. (See FIGS. 14 and 16). Thus, the right edge portion 73 and the outer peripheral portion 85 are joined by stitching or the like so that the right edge portion 73 circulates around the outer peripheral portion 85. That is, the joint portion 54 in FIG. 11 is an example of a fourth joint portion that joins the right edge portion 73 and the outer peripheral portion 85 so that the right edge portion 73 goes around the outer peripheral portion 85.
The main panel 61 is asymmetric with respect to the center line 81, and the length of the left edge portion 74 is such that the intermediate portion 70 protrudes more on the left edge portion 74 side than on the right edge portion 73 side. Longer than the length. Therefore, as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16, the peripheral length of the outer peripheral portion 84 is longer than the peripheral length of the outer peripheral portion 85.
Therefore, similarly to the airbag 101 described above, the airbag 102 having the main chamber 14 and the sub-chamber 16 can be easily manufactured. Further, even when the head of the occupant moves to the center console 9 obliquely due to an offset collision, the inflated airbag 102 receives the occupant's face at the intermediate portion 70 of the main panel 61. However, the side surface of the passenger's head can be received by the right side surface 45 of the sub-chamber 16.
As described above, the passenger airbag and the airbag apparatus including the passenger airbag have been described according to the embodiment, but the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment. Various modifications and improvements such as combinations and substitutions with some or all of the other embodiments are possible within the scope of the present invention.
For example, the airbag of the present embodiment may be applied to a passenger seat airbag when the passenger seat is located on the left side of the front row.
In the above-described embodiment, the sub-chamber is provided near the side panel on the inner side in the vehicle width direction, so that the head of the occupant moving in an oblique direction toward the center console 9 can be reliably received. However, the sub-chamber may be provided near the outer side panel in the vehicle width direction. Thereby, the sub-chamber can reliably receive the head of the occupant moving in the oblique direction toward the A pillar.
