Description

OWNER: SORMA S.p.A.
Description of the Patent for the Industrial Invention having title:
"CONTAINER FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTS".
Designated Inventor: Andrea Mercadini
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention concerns a container for fruit and vegetable products, such as potatoes, tubers, oranges, etcetera.
STATE OF THE ART
Many containers for fruit and^ vegetables have been proposed, which usually comprise portions of net that are welded together so as to define an area for housing products.
The net portions are often associated, for example through welding, to film on which there can be information concerning the product itself or nutritional values or concerning storage instructions, the expiry dates of the products or other kinds.
Moreover, net containers can also be provided with a protection sheet or absorbing sheet for the fruit and vegetable products, such a sheet being generally housed inside the net, possibly anchored in some point of the net .
However, the anchoring of the sheet to the net container, if foreseen, is. , generally weak and can break in use, especially in the case in which the products contained inside the bag are heavy.
Consequently the protecting sheet or the sheet for absorbing possible juices that are released from the fruit and vegetable products can move or become folded and no longer carry out its protective and/or absorbing function correctly.
PURPOSES OF THE INVENTION
The purpose of the present invention is thus that of devising a new container, like a bag for fruit and vegetable products.
Another purpose of the present invention is that of providing a new container that is provided with one layer for absorbing and/or protecting from bumps that is fixedly anchored to the container.
Yet another purpose of the present invention is that of providing a new container that is provided with one layer of absorbent material and/or material for protecting against bumps that is connected in a fixed manner to the wrapping of the container, which can also be used to strengthen the container itself.
This task and this purpose are achieved with the container for fruit and vegetables products according to the attached claim 1. The container for fruit and vegetables products comprises at least one closed net wrapping for storing the products and at least one layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps, the net wrapping having a first wall, a second wall and two sides, the first and the second wall each comprising a face, which in use is external and a face, which in use is internal, the net wrapping moreover comprising a first end and a second end each defined between respective end portions of the first wall and of the second wall, the net wrapping being closed at its ends through respective welding portions, the at least one layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps having a first end segment and a second end segment, at least one from the first end segment and the second end segment being fixed to the net wrapping between one end portion of the first wall and an end portion of the second wall.
According to one version of the present invention, the net wrapping and/or the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps at the respective fixing area are not flat, but have a configuration that is substantially corrugated or undulated, so that the contact surface between them is greater than that between two both substantially flat contact portions. According to another version of the.. resent invention, the first end segment is fixed through welding between a first end portion of the first wall and a first end portion of the second wall, whereas the second end segment is fixed through welding between the other, or second, end portion of the first wall and the other, or second, end portion of the second wall.
The dependent claims refer to preferred and advantageous embodiments of the invention.

figure 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the container for fruit and vegetables products according to the present invention;
figures 2 and 3 are views from behind and from the side of the container of figure 1;
figures 4 and 5 illustrate enlarged details of the container of figure 1;
figure 6 is a side view with transparent parts of a container according to one version of the present invention;
figure 7 is a side view with transparent parts of a .container according to another version of the present invention;
figures 8 and 9 are views in an enlarged scale of a detail of the bag of figure 7.
EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
With reference to figures 1 to 8, attached -here, reference numeral 1 wholly indicates a container for fruit and vegetables products, according to the present invention .
The container 1 for fruit and vegetable products A comprises at least a net wrapping 2 that is closed for storing fruit and vegetables A. The net wrapping 2 can be made in synthetic material.
The net wrapping 2 comprises a mesh structure having a plurality of strands, which may or may not be intertwined, defining or delimiting openings or windows between them.
The container 1 further comprises at least one layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps 3. The layer of absorbent material can be for example made in sponge material or in any case in material that is capable of absorbing the fluids released by the products contained in the container.
Concerning now the layer for protecting against bumps, this can be made from soft material, for example a material .of the cellular cushioning type, ..such as Bubble Wrap®, and it can be capable of protecting the products inside the container from accidental bumps. According to other versions of the present invention, the material that is capable of absorbing the fluids, can also simultaneously be a material that is capable of damping bumps, for example the aforementioned sponge material, moreover also the cellular cushioning type material can be coupled to a material that is capable of absorbing the fluids, which is of the paper or sponge type or of another suitable material.
The net wrapping 2, for example having a body that is substantially tubular shaped, includes a first wall 4, a second wall 5 and two sides 6 and 7.
The first wall 4 and the second wall 5 each comprise a face, which in use is external 4a, and a face, which in use is internal 4b. The internal faces 4b and 5b, together with the internal faces of the sides 6, 7 delimit the area for receiving or housing 2a the products A.
The net wrapping 2 further comprises a first end 8 and a second end 9 each defined between respective end portions of the first wall 4 and of the second wall 5. The net wrapping is, moreover, closed at its ends 8, 9 through respective welding portions. Concerning now, the layer of absorbent material and/or the material for damping bumps 3, this has a first end segment 3a that is fixed, for example, through welding to the net wrapping between a first end portion 4c of the first wall 4 and a first end portion 5c of the second wall 5, as well as a second end segment 3b that is fixed, for example, through welding, to the net wrapping 2 between the other or second end portion 4d of the first wall 4 and the other or second end portion 5d of the second wall 5. For example, only one of the end segments 3a and 3b is fixed between respective end portions 4c, 4d, 5c, 5d of the walls 4 and 5.
The layer of absorbent material and/or- material for damping bumps 3 or rather the portion 3c for connecting a first end segment 3a and a second end segment 3b, extends inside the receiving area 2a, in use, in particular against or in contact with the internal face 5b of the second wall 5.
The layer of absorbent material and/or the material for damping bumps 3 can extend from one side to the other of the container substantially for a length equal to the second wall 5, although it can be slightly narrower than the latter.
According to one version of the present invention illustrated in figure 6, the net wrapping 2 and/or the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps 3 at the respective fixing or welding area are flat.
In particular, it should be noted' that, as mentioned above, the end segment 3a is in the middle of the end portions 4c and 5c of the walls 4 and 5, the end segment 3b is in the middle of the end portions 4d and 5d of the walls 4 and 5, in such a way the end segments 3a and 3b promote a resistant fixing or welding of the ends 8 and 9 of the net wrapping 2, because they improve the contact with the net.
According to one version of the present invention illustrated in figure 7, the net wrapping 2 and/or the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps 3 at the respective fixing or welding area are not flat, but can have a substantially corrugated and undulated configuration.
According to the aforementioned version with the welding · in a substantially corrugated or undulated configuration, the contact surface between the wrapping 2 and the layer 3 is greater than that between two contact portions that are both substantially flat.
Even the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps 3 at the area for fixing or welding to the net wrapping 2 can have a substantially corrugated configuration,, so as to comprise, arched portions in relief 3d alternating with arched portions in recess 3e.
The portions in relief 3d and the arched portions in recess 3e extend, for example, from one side to the other of the container 1, or of the net wrapping 2, or in any case transverse, or perpendicular to the direction from one end 8 to the other end 9.
According to one version of the present invention, the arched portions in relief 3d delimit convexities facing a respective end portion 4c, 4d of the first wall 4 and concavities facing a respective end portion 5c, 5d of the second wall 5, whereas the arched portions in recess 3e delimit concavities facing a respective end portion 4c, 4d of the first wall 4 and convexities facing the respective end portion 5c, 5d of the second wall, so as to have a fixing area with a greater surface than a fixing area lying entirely on a same plane .
According to another version of the present invention, the arched portions in relief 3d shape-couple and are welded with respective recessed or projecting portions of the first end portions 4c, 4d, 5c, 5d, whereas the arched portions in recess 3e shape-couple and are welded to respective recessed or projecting portions of the second end portions 4c, 4d,. 5c, 5d.
Basically, a container, according to the version that is illustrated in figures 7-9, has two end bands TBI, TB2 at the ends 8, 9, in which first transversal areas TZl are foreseen that are substantially curved ■ in a direction or with a concavity facing the front or the back of the container, which are alternated with second curved transversal areas TZ2 in an opposite direction or with a concavity facing the back or the front of the container.
Each first transversal area TZl comprises an arched portion in relief 3d which is shape-coupled on one side with a recessed portion or projecting portion of an end portion 4c or 4d and on the other side with a recessed portion or projecting portion of an end portion 5c or 5d, whereas each second transversal area TZ2 comprises a recessed arched portion 3e which is shape-coupled on one side with a recessed portion or projecting portion of an end portion 4c or 4d and on the other side with a recessed portion or a projecting portion of an end portion 5c or 5d.
The arched portions in relief 3d and/or the arched portions in recess 3e can comprise U-shaped portions (see figure 8), V-shaped portions (see figure 9) or substantially curved portions. According to one version of the present invention, the container 1 also comprises a shaped-band 11, for example made in synthetic material, which is fixed, for example welded to the external face 4a of the first wall 4 of the container.
The band 11 can be fixed exclusively to the first wall 4, whereas the second wall 5 of the container may be free or not engaged or not in contact with the band 11. According to another version of the present invention, the shaped band 11 is fixed to the external face 4a of the first wall of the net wrapping only at both the ends 8, 9.
The band 11 (figure 1) can include at least one first end portion 11a and at least one second end portion lib, which are intended or suitable for being associated with a respective end 8, 9 of the net wrapping 2, as well as a narrower intermediate portion 11c for connecting the first end portion 11a to the second end portion lib.
The intermediate portion 11c is in particular suitable for making a gripping handle for the user to grip, in such a way making it possible for the packed fruit and vegetable products to be clearly visible, as well as to be easily transported.
The shaped band 11 can be fixed to the wrapping substantially as described with reference to the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps .
According to the version illustrated in figures 7-9, the wrapping 2 and/or the band 11, at the respective fixing area have a configuration that is substantially corrugated or undulated, so .that the contact surface between them is greater than that between the two both substantially flat contact portions.
Moreover, the band 11 at the area for fixing or welding to the net wrapping can comprise portions in relief lid that are alternated with recessed portions lie, for example, from one side to the other of the container or of the wrapping or in any case transverse or perpendicular to the direction from one end 8 to the other 9.
Concerning this, the portions in relief lid define concavities facing the end portions 4c, 4d, 5c, 5d of the container or bag 1, whereas the portions in recess lie define convexities facing the end portions 4c, 4d, 5c, 5d of the container 1, so as to have an area for fixing to the wrapping 2 that has a greater surface than the fixing area entirely lying on a same plane and also to have fixing portions that are shaped so as to increase the stability and the fastness of the fixing... For such., a purpose, the portions in relief lid and/or the portions in recess lie can comprise U-shaped portions (see figure 8), V-shaped portions (see figure 9) or substantially curved portions of the band or label.
The portions in relief lid of a band or label component 11 can be, in use, shape-coupled with and welded to respective portions in recess of an end portion 4c, 4d of a first wall 4 of the wrapping 2, whereas the portions in recess lie of a band or label can be, in use, shape-coupled with and welded to respective projecting portions of an end portion 4c, 4d of a first wall 4 of the wrapping 2.
According to one version of the present invention, the recessed or projecting portions of an end portion 4c, 4d of a first wall 4 of the wrapping 2, on one side, shape, couple with the arched portions in relief 3e or in recess 3d of the layer 3 and, on the other side, with the portions in relief lid or in recess lie of a band component or label 11, whereas the recessed or projecting portions of one end portion 5c or 5d of a second wall 5 of the wrapping 2 shape couple the arched portions in relief 3e or in recess 3d of the layer 3. Basically, if there is a band 11, then it will have for example portions in relief lid that are part of each of a first transversal area TZ1 and recessed portions lie each in a respective second transversal area TZ2. Of course, the band 11 could also be fixed to the wrapping like in conventional containers and therefore without there being the provision described just now.
For example, between the band 11, or rather between the intermediate portion 11c and the external face 4a of the first wall 4 (see figures 6 and 7), there is a gap G.
In a container according to one version of the present invention, the layer of absorbent material and/or material for damping bumps 3 is fixed in a stable manner to the wrapping, thanks to the provision according to which it is foreseen for there to be an area for fixing the layer 3 between the ends of the net wrapping, or rather, between the ends of the first wall 4 and the second wall 5 that does - not lie on a single plane, but that can have portions in relief and in recess, for example that are housed or engaged, in respective portions of the wrapping.
A greater contact surface is thus obtained with portions that are suitably shaped so as to improve the anchoring or fixing with respect to conventional containers .
Moreover, also the band 11 is fixed in a stable manner to the wrapping 2. and for example only outside the. first wall 4, thanks to a provision similar to that foreseen for the layer 3.
In order to obtain a container according to the present invention and the packing of fruit and vegetable products A, a net is provided, in which the products A to be packed are supplied, the net is welded so as to enclose the products and the net is cut. During such steps the layer 3 is inserted in the net wrapping.
In order to obtain the container, the ends of the layer 3 are arranged between the ends or end portions of the walls 4, 5 of the wrapping and are fixed to them through welding.
More in detail, the method can comprise arranging or providing a flat type net, for example drawn from a storing reel, arranging the net around a tubular element with overlapping side edges, welding the net at such edges so as to give it a tubular structure, supplying the products A to be packed, welding the net so as to close the products A and then cutting the net in such a way making the closed net wrapping 2.
Alternatively, a net already of the tubular type can be also directly provided, which is also stored in a respective reel.
According to one version of the present invention, a container or rather the.. end bands TBI, TB2 thereof can be obtained with step for welding or heat-sealing the layer 3 to the wrapping 2, so as to obtain a sequence of portions in relief that are alternated with recessed portions, for example through a welding group comprising a pair of semi bodies or jaws that can move together or apart and each having a respective abutment surface intended to abut against the other through welding of the end bands of the wrapping, as well as the welding or heat-sealing between them of one layer 3.
The abutment surfaces can have welding portions with configurations having portions in relief, for example V-shaped or U-shaped portions alternating with recessed portions, for example V or U-shaped portions, so as to give the same configuration to the end portion (s) of the wrapping 2 and of the layer 3 during welding.
The present invention has been described according to preferred embodiments, but equivalent variants can be conceived without departing from the scope of protection offered by the following claims.
