Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fuel rail (delivery pipe) for supplying high-pressure fuel supplied from a fuel pressurizing pump such as an electronic fuel injection type automobile engine through a fuel injector (injection nozzle) that directly injects the fuel into a cylinder of the engine. More particularly, the present invention relates to a terminal seal structure for a fuel rail for a gasoline direct injection engine having an injection pressure of about 20 to 70 MPa in a type in which fuel is directly supplied from a rail to an injector.
- a fuel rail for a gasoline direct injection engine of this type for example, in a fuel rail having a main pipe and a plurality of branch pipes, through holes for receiving the branch pipes are formed on the outer wall of the main pipe.
- the through hole has an annular wall projecting outward and inward of the main pipe, and each branch pipe is structured to be fixed to the annular wall, and the branch branch pipe is connected to the body portion which is a pressure accumulating vessel.
- fuel rails and the like that are configured to be connected directly or via a branch joint fitting (nipple), and a structure in which an injector connection socket is directly attached to a rail body made of a pipe or other tubular body.
- a fuel rail having a structure in which an injector connection socket is directly attached to a rail body made of a pipe or the like, for example, a pipe or the like to which pressurized fuel from a high-pressure fuel pump is supplied
- a fuel rail in which an injector holder and a fixing bracket are directly attached to a rail body comprising: a cylindrical body pipe to which pressurized fuel from a high-pressure fuel pump is supplied; A plurality of sockets connected to the main body pipe and connected to a fuel injection valve controlled to be opened and closed by a control unit, and a plurality of mounting stays integrally fixed to the main body pipe for attaching the main body pipe to the engine And a high-pressure fuel delivery pipe for a direct injection engine (see Patent Document 2).
- the above-described conventional fuel rail for a gasoline direct injection engine has the following problems. That is, in the conventional fuel rails for various gasoline direct injection engines, the rail body made of a pipe or the like has a structure in which one end or both ends are closed, and the terminal rail structure is, for example, FIG. As shown in an enlarged view in FIG. 7, a structure in which end caps 112 ⁇ / b> A and 112 ⁇ / b> B are joined to the opening end of a cylindrical main body pipe 111 by brazing is generally used. On the other hand, recently, due to the high pressure in the gasoline direct injection system, the strength of the end caps 112A and 112B that close both ends of the main body pipe 111 has become a problem.
- brazing portions 113A and 113B receive the force generated when the main body pipe 111 is deformed in the radial direction (inflates outside the tube body). Since it becomes the weakest part in strength, there is a problem that it is difficult to cope with the high pressure in the gasoline direct injection system.
- brazed portions 113A and 113B are in direct contact with the fuel (pressure medium), if there is a non-uniform portion of the shape in the brazed portion, the brazed portion is likely to be damaged due to stress concentration.
- the body pipe 111 is threaded to directly fasten the body pipe 111 and the end caps 112A and 112B, there is a problem that the body pipe 111 needs to be thickened.

- An object of the present invention is to provide a terminal seal structure for a fuel rail for a gasoline direct-injection engine that can simplify the structure and cope with a high pressure end cap without increasing the thickness of the main body.
- the fuel rail terminal seal structure for a gasoline direct injection engine has a structure in which when the internal pressure is applied to the rail body, the brazing part does not receive the force generated in the radial direction of the rail body.
- the attachment portion has a structure that does not contact fuel (pressure medium), and the gist thereof is a fuel rail having a structure in which one end or both ends of a rail body made of a tube are closed by an end cap, and the tube end of the rail body is A collar made of a short cylinder and having a male thread on the outer peripheral surface is joined to the outer periphery of the rail by brazing, and the surface facing the tube end opening of the rail body contacts the tube end opening end surface.
- a cap nut type end cap having a projecting portion for sealing is screwed to the collar and fastened, and the end force is generated by the axial force generated by tightening the cap nut end cap. It is characterized in that no configured to seal protrusion of the cap is sealed in pressure contact with the open end of the rail body.
- the present invention provides a sealing method for the rail body and the cap nut type end cap, wherein the sealing protrusion of the bag nut type end cap has a trapezoidal cross section so that the inner surface of the tube end opening of the rail body It is preferable to adopt a method in which a portion that contacts the side edge is a tapered surface, and the taper surface of the seal projection is pressed against the inner surface side edge of the rail body for sealing.
- the present invention provides, as another sealing method of the rail body and a cap nut type end cap, a tapered surface that expands the inner surface of the tube end opening of the rail body outward, and the cap nut is formed on the tapered surface. It is a preferable aspect to employ a method in which the tip end edge of the seal projection of the shaped end cap is pressed and sealed. Further, as another sealing method for the rail body and the cap nut type end cap, an annular protrusion is formed on the pipe end opening end surface of the rail body, and the annular protrusion is used as a tip end surface of the sealing protrusion of the cap nut end cap. A method in which the annular protrusion is formed on the sealing protrusion of the cap nut-type end cap and the annular protrusion is pressed against the tube end opening end surface of the rail body and sealed. This is a preferred embodiment.
- the present invention also provides a fuel rail having a structure in which one end or both ends of a rail body made of a tube body are closed by an end cap, and is formed of a short cylindrical body on the outer periphery of the tube end portion of the rail body.
- a bolt-shaped end cap having a seal projection that abuts against the tube end opening end on the surface of the rail body facing the tube end opening. Are screwed and fastened to the collar, and the sealing protrusion of the end cap is pressed against the opening end of the rail body and sealed by the axial force generated by tightening the bolt-shaped end cap. It is characterized by what has been done.
- the rail body and the bolt-type end cap are sealed by a taper surface that expands the inner surface of the pipe end opening of the rail body outwardly. It is preferable to adopt a method in which the front end portion of the projecting portion for sealing of the bolt-shaped end cap is pressed against the surface and sealed.
- a fuel rail terminal seal structure for a gasoline direct injection engine includes a collar joined to the outer periphery of a pipe end of a rail body by brazing, and a cap nut-type end cap that is screwed to the collar and fastened.
- the cap nut end cap is sealed against the tube end opening end of the rail body by the axial force generated by tightening the cap nut end cap.
- the brazed part does not receive the force generated when the rail body deforms in the radial direction (swells outside the tube).
- Compressive stress is applied to the deformation of the rail body, which is advantageous for fatigue failure, can sufficiently cope with the high pressure of the system, and the brazed part is fuel (pressure medium) Due to the non-contact structure, even if there are uneven parts in the brazed part, it will not cause damage due to stress concentration, ensuring the stability and reliability of the seal at the end of the rail body. Furthermore, it is possible to minimize the thickness of the rail body so that it is not necessary to increase the thickness, and when brazing other parts (injector socket, bracket, etc.) to the rail body. Since the replacement of the atmosphere gas in the rail body proceeds smoothly in the furnace, there are effects such as good brazing.

- the fuel in the fuel tank is transferred to the fuel introduction pipe via the pipe and the fuel pump, flows from the fuel introduction pipe to the main rail, and is injected into the fuel tank (not shown).
- the main rail 1 is provided with a plurality of sockets (not shown) that allow the injector to be connected to the peripheral wall portion. For example, four sockets are provided at desired intervals in the case of a four-cylinder engine, and six sockets are provided in the case of an in-line six-cylinder engine.
- 1 is a rail body
- 2 is a collar
- 3 is a cap nut type end cap. That is, the end seal structure of the fuel rail for a gasoline direct injection engine according to the first embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is a tube of the rail body 1 having a cylindrical inner peripheral wall surface 1-1a having a flow passage 1-1 therein.

- the cross-sectional shape of the sealing protrusion 3-1 of the cap nut-type end cap 3 is trapezoidal, and the inner edge 1-1b of the tube end opening of the rail body 1 is used.
- the part which contacts with the taper surface 3-1a is used, and the taper surface 3-1a of the seal protrusion 3-1 is pressed against the inner surface side edge 1-1b of the rail body 1 for sealing. It is.
- the cap nut type end cap 3 screwed and fastened with the collar 2 is tightened, the cap nut type end cap 3 is tightened.
- the tapered surface 3-1a of the sealing protrusion 3-1 of the end cap is brought into pressure contact with the inner surface side edge 1-1a of the tube end opening of the rail body 1, thereby opening the opening end of the rail body 1. Is sealed. Therefore, in the case of this fuel rail end seal structure for a gasoline direct injection engine, the brazing portion 2-2 has a radius of the rail body 1 that is generated when an internal pressure is applied to the flow passage 1-1 of the rail body 1.
- the brazed portion 2-2 Since the compressive stress acts on deformation in the direction (bulging outward of the tube), the brazed portion 2-2 has excellent fatigue fracture resistance and is added to the flow passage 1-1 of the rail body 1. It is possible to cope with the increased internal pressure. In addition, since the brazed portion 2-2 has a structure that does not contact the fuel (pressure medium) in the rail body 1, even if a non-uniform portion of the shape exists in the brazed portion, it is damaged due to stress concentration.
- the taper surface 3-1a of the sealing protrusion 3-1 of the end cap is made to flow through the tube of the rail body 1 by the axial force generated by tightening the cap nut type end cap 3.
- this terminal seal structure is a system in which a cap nut-type end cap 3 is screwed to the collar 2, and is not a system in which the cap nut-type end cap 3 is directly screwed to the rail body 1, so that the rail body 1 is thick. There is no need to make it.

Abstract
