Definitions
- busbars In the field of automotive electrics and electronics, in particular in connection with the electrification of the motor vehicle consumers are increasingly used for the operation of high currents are required. In order to keep the losses as low as possible, the necessary electrical conductors may only have a low resistance. This can be achieved on the one hand by correspondingly large cross-sections, which, however, is expensive due to the correspondingly high material cost, or by a correspondingly high conductivity. Because of its properties, copper is still the first choice here. These conductors, often referred to as busbars, are usually made of sheet copper and must be connected to each other or to other copper objects such as press-fit pins.
- Riveting, brazing or welding may be considered as connecting technique, whereby the high thermal conductivity of copper is disadvantageous during welding since the weld does not become warm enough thereby.
- From DE 199 10 787 Al it is known to screw such copper sheets together, but holes are provided in a conventional manner in the parts to be joined the busbars possibly with pre-cut thread. However, this means an additional step and also these holes must be made with low tolerances, so that the connections of the copper sheets are accurate.
- this connection technique is only used for aluminum-steel connections.
- the problem is solved by an arrangement with two copper plates, which are connected to each other via a screw connection, wherein the screw was screwed directly into the copper sheets, without screw holes were provided.
- the object is also achieved by a method for producing a connection of two copper sheets by means of a screw in which the screw is screwed directly into the copper sheets, without screw holes are provided.
- the screw technology widely used in the backend production of motor vehicle electronics can be used, without having to use the disadvantages of screwing with nut and correspondingly provided holes in the copper sheets or threads to be provided in the holes.
- a high current carrying capacity with low contact resistance at the connection point is achieved by the high heating of the copper at the screw-in point and the resulting flowability.
- At least one of the copper sheets consists of Cu-ETP.
- This highly conductive copper material is particularly soft and therefore poorly suited for conventional bonding techniques.
- the screw has a matched to the copper material thread geometry.
- the screwing is under Schutzgasatmo ⁇ sphere. As a result, an insulating oxide formation on the surface of the copper sheets can be prevented.
- protective gases for example, argon or carbon dioxide come into question.
- the screwing takes place on a resilient support.
- the screw of Figure 1 shows a screw for connecting two copper sheets.
- the screw of Figure 1 has a screw head 1 with preferably internal drive.
- the screw head diameter must be adapted to the internal drive to be used, e.g. 2.5 mm for Torx plus.
- the screw material as well as the internal drive must be designed for very short rotational speeds of 4000 revolutions per minute and higher.
- the screw has at its screw head 1 with respect to ⁇ opposite end starting from the screw tip 6 up to a gauge section 4 is a flow punch forming zone 5, which is formed in the example illustrated as a square, tapering starting from the gauge section up to the screw tip.
- a short Ge ⁇ windeformzone 3 followed by the supporting thread 2 follows.
- Such a screw is pressed with high contact pressure according to the invention against a load-bearing support at high speed against the copper sheets to be joined, causing the screw-in heats and begins to flow and the screw can cut their own thread.
- the thereby achievable positive connection there is a low current transfer resistance, which is of great advantage in high ⁇ current connections.
- tolerances of the individual lead frames to each other are not as critical as in a through hole, since the screw forms the hole itself.

Description
Beschreibung
