- the AP module has a power control function, and changes the state of the AP module to a sleep state, an active state, or the like.
- the communication module is connected to the AP module, and can instruct the AP module about power control. For this reason, the communication module can indirectly control the state of the AP module based on reception from another communication device.
- the communication device 100 may receive transmission data from another communication device 200 illustrated in the left diagram of FIG. Further, the communication module can transition the state of the AP module of the communication device 100 from the sleep state to the active state based on reception from the other communication device 200. Then, the AP module in the active state can cause the communication apparatus 100 to perform audio output, for example, as illustrated in the right diagram of FIG.
- the communication module of the communication apparatus 100 changes the state of the AP module to the active state every time it is received from another communication apparatus 200, it is difficult to reduce power consumption.
- the communication module changes the state of the AP module to the active state when receiving from a specific other communication device 200.
- the AP module state cannot be changed to the active state, and the communication environment including the unspecified other communication device 200 changes. It is difficult to make the AP module perform processing according to the situation. Therefore, the communication module of the communication device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure changes the state of the AP module when information obtained by reception from any other communication device 100 changes.
- the user holds the communication device 100, and another communication device 200 can be added to the umbrella owned by the user. Also, the other communication device 200 transmits data related to its own information, for example. - FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating a schematic functional configuration of the communication device 100-1 according to the first embodiment of the present disclosure.
- the communication device 100-1 includes a communication module 110-1 and an application processor module 120 (hereinafter also referred to as an AP module 120), as shown in FIG.
- the communication module 110-1 includes a communication unit 112, a determination unit 114, a storage unit 116, and a control unit 118.
- the communication unit 112 receives transmission data from another communication device 200. Specifically, the communication unit 112 scans radio waves transmitted from the other communication device 200 and only receives transmission data from the other communication device 200 without performing communication connection with the other communication device 200. I do.
- the communication unit 112 can passively scan in the advertising channel according to the specification of Bluetooth Low Energy (hereinafter also referred to as BLE), and can receive an advertising packet transmitted from another communication device 200.
- BLE Bluetooth Low Energy
- the communication unit 112 may acquire additional information from the other communication device 200 when receiving transmission data from the other communication device 200.
- the communication unit 112 performs an active scan in accordance with the BLE specification, and when an advertising packet is received from another communication device 200, the communication unit 112 sends a SCAN_REQ packet to the other communication device 200 that has transmitted the advertising packet. Can be sent. Then, the other communication device 200 that has received the SCAN_REQ packet transmits a SCAN_RES packet storing additional information of the other communication device 200 to the communication device 100-1, and the communication unit 112 transmits the SCAN_RES packet. Can be received.
- the communication unit 112 may be set not to transmit the SCAN_REQ packet to the other communication device 200 according to the BLE specification. Good.
- the communication part 112 may scan intermittently. In this case, power consumption can be further reduced.
- the determination unit 114 determines the presence / absence of a change in presence information composed of identification information of other communication devices 200 that can communicate with each other around the communication device 100-1. Specifically, the determination unit 114 determines that the presence information has changed when there is reception from another communication apparatus 200 related to the identification information not included in the presence information. In addition, the presence information changes when a predetermined time elapses from the previous reception from the other communication device 200 related to the identification information included in the presence information without further reception from the other communication device 200. It is determined that Further, details of the determination process of the determination unit 114 will be described with reference to FIGS. 3A and 3B.
- FIG. 3A is a diagram illustrating an example of an operation based on the presence information of the communication device 100-1 according to the present embodiment.
- FIG. 3B illustrates another operation based on the presence information of the communication device 100-1 according to the present embodiment. It is a figure which shows the example of.
- the determination unit 114 stands by until there is reception from another communication device 200 by the communication unit 112. For example, as shown in the left diagram of FIG. 3A, when there is no other communication device 200 capable of communication around the communication device 100-1, and no advertising packet is received from the other communication device 200, the determination unit No determination process 114 is performed. Note that the AP module 120 may be in a sleep state.
- the determination unit 114 determines whether the identification information of the other communication device 200 is included in the presence information stored in the storage unit 116. Make a decision. For example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 3A, when the communication device 100-1 is moved into the transmission range R1 of another communication device 200 and an advertising packet is transmitted from the other communication device 200, the communication The advertising packet is received by the unit 112. Then, the determination unit 114 determines whether the presence information includes identification information unique to the other communication device 200, for example, a communication device such as Public Device Address included in the advertising packet. The identification information may be generated by the communication unit 112.
- the determination unit 114 controls information indicating that the presence information has changed. Notification to the unit 118. For example, if it is determined that the identification information of the other communication device 200 illustrated in the right diagram of FIG. 3A is not included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the presence information has changed. To do. Then, the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state by the control unit 118 that receives the notification, and, for example, a voice output as illustrated in the right diagram of FIG. 3A is performed by the control of the communication device 100-1 of the AP module 120. Done.
- the determination unit 114 adds identification information of another communication device 200 determined not to be included in the presence information to the presence information. Note that information such as the reception time is associated with the identification information, and the determination unit 114 updates information such as the reception time of the identification information.
- the determination unit 114 does not notify the control unit 118 of information. For example, as illustrated in the left diagram of FIG. 3B, when an advertising packet is received from another communication device 200 related to the identification information included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 determines whether the other communication device 200 It is determined that the identification information is included in the presence information, and information is not provided to the control unit 118. The determination unit 114 updates information such as the reception time of the identification information. Further, since the information notification is not performed to the control unit 118, the AP module 120 may be in a sleep state.
- the determination unit 114 periodically determines whether or not a predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time associated with the identification information for each identification information included in the presence information. For example, the determination unit 114 can periodically determine whether a predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time of the advertising packet associated with the identification information included in the presence information.
- the predetermined time can be set in accordance with the transmission interval of the advertising packet. For example, since the transmission interval of the advertising packet is 20 msec to 1 sec, the predetermined time can be set longer than 1 sec.
- the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the presence information has changed. For example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 3B, from the reception time when the communication device 100-1 is moved outside the transmission range R1 of the other communication device 200 and associated with the identification information of the other communication device 200. When it is determined that a predetermined time has elapsed, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the presence information has changed. Then, the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state by the control unit 118 that receives the notification, and for example, the audio output is performed as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 3B by the control of the communication device 100-1 of the AP module 120. Done.
- the determination unit 114 deletes the identification information determined to have passed a predetermined time from the reception time from the presence information. Information such as the reception time associated with the identification information can also be deleted.
- the storage unit 116 stores information obtained by reception from the other communication device 200. Specifically, the storage unit 116 stores presence information including identification information of other communication devices 200, a reception time associated with the identification information, and other information obtained by reception. For example, the storage unit 116 may store Public Device Address included in the advertising packet as identification information of the other communication device 200, and may store the time when the advertising packet is received as the reception time.
- the identification information may be a combination of a Random Device Address and a decryption key.
- the control unit 118 controls the state transition of the AP module 120. Specifically, the control unit 118 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the active state based on the determination result of the presence / absence of a change in the presence information by the determination unit 114. For example, when information indicating that the presence information has been changed is notified from the determination unit 114, the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to change the state to the active state. In addition, the control unit 118 does not instruct the AP module 120 to make a state transition when information indicating that the presence information has changed is not notified from the determination unit 114.
- control unit 118 transitions the state of the AP module 120 to the active state when it is determined that the presence information has changed. For this reason, it is possible to cause the AP module 120 to perform processing in accordance with changes in the communication environment.
- the AP module 120 controls the operation of the communication device 100-1 as a control module. Specifically, the AP module 120 controls software such as application software and system software of the communication apparatus 100-1 and hardware such as a display unit, a sound output unit, and a vibration output unit. The AP module 120 controls its own power supply. Specifically, the AP module 120 transitions its own state to a sleep state that is a process halt state or an active state that is a processable state.

- the communication device 100-1 stands by until it is received from another communication device 200 (step S302). Specifically, the communication unit 112 performs scanning for reception from the other communication device 200, and the determination unit 114 waits until reception from the other communication device 200 is received by the communication unit 112.
- the communication apparatus 100-1 determines whether the identification information of the other communication apparatus 200 that has received is not included in the presence information (step S304). Specifically, when the communication unit 112 receives from the other communication device 200, the determination unit 114 determines whether the identification information of the other communication device 200 is not included in the presence information.
- the communication device 100-1 adds the identification information of the other communication device 200 that has been received to the presence information. (Step S306). Specifically, when it is determined that the identification information of the other communication device 200 related to reception is not included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 adds the identification information of the other communication device to the presence information and receives the information. Information such as time is associated with the identifier, and information such as the reception time is stored in the storage unit 116.
- the communication device 100-1 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the active state (step S308).
- the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to change the state from the sleep state to the active state when information indicating that the presence information has changed is notified from the determination unit 114.
- the AP module 120 changes its state from the sleep state to the active state.
- the communication device 100-1 determines whether the presence information includes identification information related to another communication device 200 for which a predetermined time has elapsed since the previous reception (step S402). Specifically, the determination unit 114 determines, for each identification information included in the presence information, whether a predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time associated with each identification information.
- the communication apparatus 100-1 identifies the identification information after a predetermined time has elapsed since the previous reception. Is deleted from the presence information (step S404). Specifically, the determination unit 114 deletes the identification information whose predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time from the presence information. Information such as the reception time associated with the identification information can also be deleted.
- the process ends.
- the communication device 100-1 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the active state (step S406). Specifically, since it is substantially the same as the process of step S308 in FIG.
- the communication device 100-1 includes the AP module 120 that controls the operation of the communication device 100-1. Also, it is determined whether or not there is a change in information obtained by reception from another communication device 200. If it is determined that the information obtained by reception has changed, the communication module 110-1 that controls the state transition of the AP module 120 Is provided. For this reason, when the change of the communication environment occurs, the state of the AP module is changed, so that the operation of the communication apparatus 100 can be controlled according to the change of the communication environment while suppressing power consumption.
- the communication device 100-1 receives from the other communication device 200 related to the identification information that is not included in the presence information including the identification information of the other communication device 200 that exists in the vicinity of the communication device 100-1. If there is, it is determined that the presence information has changed, and the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state. For this reason, it is possible to increase the operation opportunity of the AP module while suppressing power consumption by changing the state of the AP module 120 to the active state in a situation where the processing of the AP module 120 may be required. Become.
- the communication device 100-1 determines that a predetermined time has passed since the previous reception from the other communication device 200 related to the identification information included in the presence information without further reception from the other communication device 200. Then, it is determined that the presence information has changed, and the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state. For this reason, even when other communicable communication devices 200 disappear, the AP module 120 can be activated to further increase the operational opportunities of the AP module 120 while suppressing power consumption. It becomes.
- the communication module 110-1 has reception strength information of another communication device 200, and when the reception strength changes, the reception strength information of the other communication device 200 changes. And the state of the AP module 120 may be changed to the active state.
- the communication unit 112 detects the reception intensity of the radio wave related to reception from the other communication apparatus 200, and the determination unit 114 refers to the reception intensity information to determine the reception intensity related to the other communication apparatus 200. It is determined whether the change has occurred across the threshold. When it is determined that the reception intensity has changed across the threshold, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the reception intensity information has changed, and the control unit 118 that receives the notification is active to the AP module 120.
- FIG. 6A is a diagram illustrating an example of an operation based on reception intensity information of the communication device 100-1 according to the first modification example of the present embodiment
- FIG. 6B relates to the first modification example of the present embodiment
- 12 is a diagram illustrating another example of an operation based on reception intensity information of the communication device 100-1.
- the determination unit 114 waits for reception from the other communication device 200 by the communication unit 112, and when the communication unit 112 receives from the other communication device 200 Then, it is determined whether or not the identification information related to the other communication device 200 is included in the presence information. For example, as shown in the left diagram of FIG. 6A, when the communication device 100-1 is moved into the transmission range R1 of another communication device 200 and an advertising packet is transmitted from the other communication device 200, the communication The advertising packet is received by the unit 112. Then, the determination unit 114 determines whether the identification information of the other communication device 200 is included in the presence information. Note that the AP module may be in a sleep state.
- the determination unit 114 When it is determined that the identification information of the other communication device 200 is not included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 adds the identification information to the presence information, and is detected in the reception intensity information associated with the identification information. Store the received strength. Furthermore, the determination unit 114 determines whether the detected received intensity is equal to or greater than a threshold value.
- the reception intensity threshold value may be a predetermined value or a value that is changed by setting.
- the determination unit 114 When it is determined that the detected reception intensity is not equal to or greater than the threshold, the determination unit 114 does not notify the control unit 118 of information. For example, when a radio wave having a reception intensity equal to or higher than the threshold is received in the range of the transmission range R2 of the other communication device 200 as illustrated in the left diagram of FIG. 6A, the communication device 100-1 is located outside the communication range R2. Therefore, the determination unit 114 determines that the detected reception intensity is less than the threshold value, and does not notify the control unit 118 of information. Therefore, the state of the AP module can remain in the sleep state.
- the reception intensity changes from less than the threshold value to the threshold value or more.
- the determination unit 114 further detects the reception intensity and the reception intensity associated with the identification information.
- the reception strength of information and the threshold are compared, and it is determined whether the reception strength has changed across the threshold. For example, after the communication unit 112 receives an advertising packet from another communication device 200 within the transmission range R1 and outside R2 shown in the left diagram of FIG. 6A, the communication device 100-1 is moved, and the communication unit 112 is An advertising packet from another communication device 200 can be received within the transmission range R2 shown in the right diagram of FIG. 6A.
- the determination unit 114 receives the detected reception strength and the reception strength information. The strength and the threshold are compared, and it is determined whether the reception strength has changed across the threshold.
- the determination unit 114 When it is determined that the reception intensity has changed from less than the threshold to greater than or equal to the threshold, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the reception intensity information has changed. Further, the determination unit 114 updates the reception intensity of the reception intensity information to the detected reception intensity.
- the reception intensity of the reception intensity information is a reception intensity that is less than a threshold for reception outside the transmission range R2 shown in the right diagram of FIG. 6A, and the communication device 100-1 can be located within the transmission range R2. In this case, the reception intensity of the received radio wave is equal to or greater than the threshold value because the position of the communication device 100-1 is within the transmission range R2.
- the determination unit 114 determines that the reception intensity has changed from less than the threshold to greater than or equal to the threshold, notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the reception intensity information has changed, and detects the reception intensity of the reception intensity information. Update to strength.
- indicates the state transition to an active state to AP module 120.
- the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to change the state from the sleep state to the active state, and the AP module 120 that receives the instruction changes its state to the active state, for example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 6A.
- ⁇ Reception strength changes from above threshold to below threshold
- the determination unit 114 does not notify the control unit 118 of information
- the reception strength is updated to the detected reception strength. For example, when the communication unit 112 receives an advertising packet a plurality of times within the transmission range R2 of another communication device 200 as illustrated in the left diagram of FIG. 6B, the determination unit 114 changes the reception intensity across the threshold. Therefore, the determination unit 114 updates the reception intensity of the reception intensity information to the detected reception intensity, but does not notify the control unit 118 of information. Therefore, the AP module 120 can remain in the sleep state.
- the determination unit 114 When it is determined that the reception intensity has changed from the threshold value to less than the threshold value, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the reception intensity information has changed. Further, the determination unit 114 updates the reception intensity of the reception intensity information to the detected reception intensity. For example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 6B, after the communication unit 112 receives the advertising packet within the transmission range R2 of the other communication device 200, the communication device 100-1 is moved, and the communication unit 112 moves within the transmission range. Advertising packets may be received within R1 and outside R2.
- the determination unit 114 determines that the reception intensity has changed from the threshold value to less than the threshold value, notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the reception intensity information has changed, and detects the reception intensity of the reception intensity information. Update to reception strength.
- control part 118 which receives the said notification instruct
- FIG. 7 is a flowchart conceptually showing a process when the reception intensity information of the communication apparatus 100-1 in the first modification example of the present embodiment changes.
- the communication device 100-1 waits for reception from another communication device 200 (step S502), and when there is reception from the other communication device 200, the communication device 100-1 has received it. It is determined whether or not the identification information of the other communication device 200 is included in the presence information (step S504). Specifically, since it is substantially the same as step S302 of the first embodiment, a description thereof will be omitted.
- the communication device 100-1 adds the identification information of the other communication device 200 that has been received to the presence information. Then, the received intensity is stored (step S506). Specifically, when it is determined that the identification information of the other communication device 200 that has received is not included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 adds the identification information to the presence information and is detected by the communication unit 112. The received reception strength is stored in the reception strength information associated with the identification information.
- the communication device 100-1 determines whether the reception intensity is equal to or higher than a threshold (step S508). Specifically, the determination unit 114 determines whether the reception intensity detected by the communication unit 112 is greater than or equal to a threshold value.
- the communication device 100-1 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the active state (step S510). Specifically, when it is determined that the reception intensity is equal to or greater than the threshold, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the reception intensity information has changed, and the control unit 118 causes the AP module 120 to enter the active state. Instructs state transition. Upon receiving the instruction, the AP module 120 changes its own state from the sleep state to the active state.
- the communication device 100-1 determines whether the reception intensity has changed from less than the threshold to greater than or equal to the threshold (step S512). Specifically, the determination unit 114 compares the reception strength detected by the communication unit 112, the reception strength of the reception strength information associated with the identification information, and a threshold, and the reception strength changes from less than the threshold to more than the threshold. Judgment is made.
- the communication apparatus 100-1 updates the reception intensity information of the other communication apparatus 200 that has received (step S514), and performs the process of step S510. Do. Specifically, when it is determined that the reception intensity has changed from less than the threshold to greater than or equal to the threshold, the determination unit 114 updates the reception intensity of the reception intensity information to the detected reception intensity.
- the communication apparatus 100-1 determines whether the reception intensity has changed from above the threshold to below the threshold (step S516). Specifically, the determination unit 114 compares the reception intensity detected by the communication unit 112, the reception intensity of the reception intensity information associated with the identification information, and a threshold value, and the reception intensity changes from the threshold value to the threshold value. Judgment is made.
- the communication device 100-1 When it is determined that the reception intensity has changed from the threshold value to less than the threshold value, the communication device 100-1 performs the process of step S510 after performing the process of step S514.
- the communication device 100-1 updates the reception strength information of the other communication device 200 that has received the signal (step S518). Specifically, since the process is substantially the same as the process of step S514, description thereof is omitted.
- the communication module 110-1 has the reception strength information of the other communication device 200, and when the reception strength changes, the communication module 110-1 It is determined that the reception intensity information has changed, and the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state. Therefore, it is possible to control the state transition of the AP module 120 based on a finer positional relationship between the communication device 100-1 and the other communication device 200 than when processing based on the presence information. Further, the power consumption can be reduced by reducing the number of times the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the active state, compared to the case where the process is performed based on the presence information.
- the determination unit 114 has described an example in which the presence or absence of a change in the communication environment is determined based on the reception strength information.
- the determination unit 114 combines the presence information and the reception strength information to change the communication environment. You may determine the presence or absence of.
- the control unit 118 is notified of information indicating that the communication environment has changed, and the control unit 118 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the active state. Instruct. In this case, it is possible to further increase the operation opportunities of the AP module 120 accompanying changes in the communication environment while suppressing power consumption.
- the determination unit 114 has been described as an example of determining whether or not the reception intensity has changed across the threshold value. However, the determination unit 114 determines whether or not the change amount of the reception intensity exceeds the change amount threshold value. You may judge. For example, the determination unit 114 calculates the amount of change in the received strength from the detected received strength and the received strength of the received strength information. If the calculated amount of change is equal to or greater than the change amount threshold, the received strength has changed. Is determined. The determination unit 114 determines that the reception intensity has not changed when the calculated change amount is less than the change amount threshold. In this case, when the communication device 100-1 is not moved so much, the state of the AP module 120 is not shifted to the active state, and power consumption can be suppressed.
- the communication module 110-1 may transition the state of the AP module 120 to the inactive state when it is determined that the presence information has changed. For example, when the identification information of another communication device 200 is not included in the presence information when the identification information of the other communication device 200 is deleted from the presence information, the communication module 110-1 changes the status of the AP module 120. Transition to inactive state. Specifically, first, the determination unit 114 deletes the identification information determined to have passed a predetermined time from the previous reception time from the presence information. After deleting the identification information, the determination unit 114 determines whether any identification information is included in the presence information.
- FIG. 8 is a diagram illustrating an example of the operation of the communication device 100-1 according to the second modification of the present embodiment.
- the determination unit 114 determines whether the identification information of the other communication device 200 is included in the presence information. When it is determined that the identification information of the other communication device 200 is not included in the presence information, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the presence information has changed. The control unit 118 that receives the notification instructs the AP module 120 to change the state to the active state. For example, as shown in the left diagram of FIG. 8, the communication device 100-1 is located in the transmission range R1 of the other communication device 200, so that the communication unit 112 receives the advertising packet from the other communication device 200. .
- the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information that the presence information has changed. Further, the determination unit 114 adds the identification information of the other communication device 200 to the presence information. Then, the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to transition to the active state, and the AP module 120 transitions its own state to the active state. For example, the AP module 120 in the active state can cause the communication device 100-1 to output audio as shown in the left diagram of FIG.
- the determination unit 114 periodically determines whether a predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time associated with the identification information for each identification information included in the presence information, and determines a predetermined time from the reception time.
- the identification information determined to have passed has been deleted from the presence information. For example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 8, the communication apparatus 100-1 is moved outside the transmission range R ⁇ b> 1 of the other communication apparatus 200 and is determined in advance without receiving from the other communication apparatus 200.
- the determination unit 114 determines that a predetermined time has elapsed from the reception time associated with the identification information of the other communication device 200. Then, the determination unit 114 deletes the identification information of the other communication device 200 from the presence information.
- the determination unit 114 determines whether any identification information is included in the presence information. For example, as shown in the right diagram of FIG. 8, when there is no other communication device 200 capable of communication in the vicinity of the communication device 100-1, the identification information is not included in the presence information by deleting the identification information. Therefore, the determination unit 114 determines that the identification information is not included in the presence information.
- the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the presence information is empty, and the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to transition to the inactive state.
- the control unit 118 that is notified by the determination unit 114 that the presence information is empty can instruct the AP module 120 to make a state transition to the sleep state.
- the AP module 120 that receives the instruction can transition its own state to the sleep state.
- the inactive state may be a deep sleep state or a non-activated state in which power consumption is further reduced compared to the sleep state.

- the communication device 100-1 changes the state of the AP module 120 to the inactive state (step S608). Specifically, the determination unit 114 notifies the control unit 118 of information indicating that the presence information is empty, and the control unit 118 instructs the AP module 120 to change the state to the inactive state.
- the communication module 110-1 when the communication module 110-1 deletes the identification information of the other communication device 200 from the presence information, the communication module 110-1 includes the other communication device 200 in the presence information.
- the identification information is not included, the state of the AP module 120 is changed to the inactive state. For this reason, when the AP module 120 is unlikely to be processed, the AP module 120 is shifted to an inactive state, thereby optimizing the operation timing of the AP module 120 and further reducing power consumption. Is possible.
