- Said internal recesses comprise a surface inclined in the longitudinal direction of the rail that narrows towards the free end of the flange, that is, towards the end of the flange intended to accommodate the end part of the rail. In this way the internal recess decreases in depth towards the free end thereof.
- the flange object of the invention therefore provides a greater grip on the rail as well as minimizing the possibility that a high pulling force of the rail causes the rail to escape from the flange. This is due to the fact that the configuration of the flange has the effect that the greater the pulling force, the greater the interlocking of the flange in the rail, exerting more pressure on it. In addition, the aforementioned effect of the interlocking on the rail allows the flange to have a greater load capacity compared to another type of drag flange.
- the configuration of the flange allows that, although wear of the gripping element occurs, as this is movable and the surface of the recessed housing is inclined, this wear would be absorbed by the displacement of the gripping element in the longitudinal direction.
- the drive flange object of the invention joins at one of its ends the track throwing machine and by its free end grabs the first rail that is being unloaded from the rail train. It is also an object of the invention that the flange comprising two support elements so that by means of one of them it joins a rail section and by the other it joins another rail section adjacent to the first.

More specifically, the surface (18) adapted to be in contact with the base of the head (2) of the rail (1) is the knurled surface.
- the exemplary embodiment shown in Figure 2 refers to the case where the drag flange (10) comprises two support elements (30, 40) that house both grip elements (14). In this way the drag flange (10) is adapted to join two consecutive rail sections (1). More specifically, the support elements (30, 40) are located in symmetrical arrangement with respect to a transverse axis so that one of the support elements (30) would be adapted to embrace a first rail (1) and the other support element (40) it would be adapted to embrace a second lane (1) located in line with the first (1).
- a drag flange (10) as disclosed in Figure 2 would also be suitable for joining the draft machine to the first section of rail (1) provided that the draft machine comprised a connection for the connection with the flange (10) a small rail section (1).
- the connection to the pulling machine could be carried out with a bolt so that the drag flange (10) would have a single support element (1 1, 12).
