- any number of logical channel IDs may be applied to the D2D BSR.
- the MAC layer has a function of mapping each logical channel to a MAC PDU, and uses a logical channel prioritization (LCP) procedure when a new transmission is performed.
- LCP logical channel prioritization
- the basic LCP procedure takes into account the priority of each logical channel and the transmission bit rate (Prioritized Bit Rate: PBR) that must be transmitted within a certain period corresponding to the QoS (Quality of Service) of the radio bearer.
- PBR Primary Bit Rate
- the RRC layer corresponding to each logical channel, has a parameter priority indicating that the priority is lower as the value is larger, a parameter priorityBitRate indicating priority bit rate (PBR), and a bucket size duration (Bucket Size Duration: BSD).
- PBR priority Bit rate
- BSD bucket Size Duration
- the terminal device 1 holds a variable Bj for each logical channel j.
- Bj is initialized to zero when the related logical channel is established, and a value (PBR ⁇ TTI duration) obtained by multiplying the PBR and the TTI period in the logical channel j is added for each TTI.
- PBR ⁇ TTI duration a value obtained by multiplying the PBR and the TTI period in the logical channel j is added for each TTI.
- the value of Bj does not exceed the bucket size, and when the value of Bj is larger than the bucket size of logical channel j, the value of Bj is set to the bucket size.
- the bucket size in a certain logical channel is equal to PBR ⁇ BSD.
- the terminal device 1 allocates resources to the logical channel according to the following procedure.
- Step 1 All logical channels with Bj> 0 are assigned in descending order of priority. When the PBR of a certain radio bearer is set to infinity, the terminal device 1 allocates resources to all transmittable data of the radio bearer before determining the PBR of the other lower priority radio bearer .
- Step 2 The terminal device 1 subtracts a value corresponding to the total size of the MAC SDU assigned to the logical channel j in Step 1 from Bj. However, Bj can take a negative value.
- Step 3 If there is a free resource, all logical channels are allocated in order of priority until there is no more logical channel data or uplink grants, regardless of the value of Bj. Allocation is made equally to logical channels of equal priority.
- the priority of the LCP procedure according to the present embodiment is as follows in descending order.
- BSR MAC CE excluding data padding BSR from C-RNTI MAC CE or UL-CCCH ⁇ D2D
- BSR MAC CE excluding padding BSR -PHR MAC CE or extended PHR MAC CE
- the D2D BSR MAC Allocation of CE can prevent a shortage of resources to allocate BSR MAC CE.
- the notification of the uplink BSR is necessary for the terminal device 1 to be allocated uplink resources from the base station device 3. Therefore, when the uplink BSR is not notified to the base station apparatus 3 due to the allocation of the D2D BSR MAC CE, SR processing is required for the uplink BSR, and the resource allocation of the uplink communication is delayed. The communication efficiency may be reduced.
- the priority of the D2D BSR MAC CE may be different from the viewpoint of giving priority to the MAC CE related to the uplink over the MAC CE related to the D2D.
- D2D BSR MAC CE may have a lower priority than PHR MAC CE or extended PHR MAC CE, or may have a lower priority than data from logical channels other than UL-CCCH.
- an arbitrary priority may be set between the BSR MAC CE by the padding BSR and the D2D BSR MAC CE by the padding BSR.
