Description

Side airbag device
The present invention relates to a side airbag device in which an airbag is deployed on the side of a vehicle seat.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a side airbag device that protects a side portion of an occupant seated on a seat by deploying and inflating an airbag between the occupant and a side body member (for example, a side door) when a vehicle collides with the side, etc. (For example, Patent Document 1).
The passenger seated on the seat has a shoulder closer to the side door than the chest or waist. For this reason, in the conventional side airbag device disclosed in Patent Document 1, an airbag is used in which the side portion of the shoulder portion is deployed before the chest portion.
The conventionally proposed side airbag device generally protects the shoulder located near the side door more appropriately because the airbag is deployed to the side of the shoulder before the chest. Can do.
By the way, in a side collision from diagonally forward, a large impact is applied from the side of the occupant to the diagonally forward side, and the impact on the occupant may increase. In the conventionally proposed side airbag device, although the airbag is deployed to the side of the shoulder before the chest, it can be adequately protected against a side collision from obliquely forward. There is no possibility.

In order to achieve the above object, a side airbag device of the present invention according to claim 1 is provided in a vehicle seat, wherein the airbag is deployed between an occupant and a side body member. The airbag is arranged to face the first base fabric, the first base fabric constituting the left and right side portions in the vehicle width direction, and constitutes the other side surface portion in the vehicle width direction, A second base cloth that forms an expansion chamber between the first base cloth and an upper cloth that is joined to the upper edges of the first base cloth and the second base cloth to form an upper surface portion; The upper cloth is characterized in that the width in the vehicle width direction on the vehicle front side is wider than the width in the vehicle width direction on the vehicle rear side.
In the present invention according to claim 1, an upper cloth is formed which is joined to the upper edges of the first and second base cloths to form an upper surface portion, and the upper cloth is in the vehicle width direction on the vehicle front side with respect to the vehicle rear side. Since the width of the air bag is wide, the upper end portion of the airbag can be made flat, and in a state where the deployment width is sufficiently obtained without increasing the height direction, the portion from the oblique front to the side of the occupant And the side body member can be deployed. For this reason, a passenger | crew's side part can be protected more appropriately including the side collision from diagonally forward.
The side airbag device of the present invention according to claim 2 is the side airbag device according to claim 1, wherein the upper cloth of the airbag is folded along a fold line extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. It is temporarily fixed by the temporary fixing member which fractures | ruptures with the expansion | deployment pressure of a bag.
In the present invention according to claim 2, since the upper cloth is folded by a fold line extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and temporarily fixed by the temporary fixing member, the upper cloth extends between the occupant and the side body member during the airbag deployment process. After that, the temporary fixing member is broken and completely developed by the development pressure. For this reason, the airbag provided with the upper cloth whose width in the vehicle width direction on the vehicle front side with respect to the vehicle rear side can be reliably deployed between the occupant and the side body member.
The side airbag device of the present invention according to claim 3 is the side airbag device according to claim 2, characterized in that the temporary fixing member of the upper cloth is a temporary stitching portion by a cord-like member. To do.
In the present invention according to claim 3, the folded state of the upper cloth can be temporarily fixed by performing temporary sewing with a cord-like member (thread, thin string, etc.) to form a temporary sewing portion. When performing temporary stitching, it is possible to perform temporary stitching in the longitudinal direction by individually stopping at each position, or to perform temporary stitching in the longitudinal direction by alternately stopping with a single thread member.
The side airbag device of the present invention according to claim 4 is the side airbag device according to claim 3, wherein the temporary stitching portion of the temporary fixing member is different in the width of the seam in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. It is characterized by being.
In the present invention according to claim 4, the deployment state of the airbag deployment process can be controlled by varying the width of the seam in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
The side airbag device of the present invention according to claim 5 is the side airbag device according to claim 4, wherein the temporary stitching portion of the temporary fixing member has a width of a seam on the front side of the vehicle. The entire side airbag device will be described with reference to FIGS.
As shown in FIG. 1, a vehicle 1 is provided with a passenger seat 2 that is a vehicle seat, and a side airbag device 5 is provided on the side door 4 side (side body member side) of the seat back 3 of the passenger seat 2. Is provided. The vehicle to which the side airbag device of the present invention is applied is not limited to the passenger car shown in FIG. 1, and the vehicle seat is not limited to the passenger seat 2. For example, the present invention can be applied to a rear seat of a one-box vehicle. In this case, a panel member constituting a vehicle body provided with a window or the like may be applied as the side body member.
2 and 3, the airbag 11 is deployed between the side surface of the occupant 6 and the side door 4 by the operation of the side airbag device 5 of the seat back 3 of the passenger seat 2. Thereby, even if the collision object 7 enters and the side door 4 is deformed, the occupant 6 is protected by the airbag 11. The expansion chamber 10 of the airbag 11 includes a first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6 a of the occupant 6, a second expansion chamber 13 corresponding to the chest 6 b of the occupant 6, and a third corresponding to the waist 6 c of the occupant 6. And an expansion chamber 14.
Although the specific configuration will be described later, the airbag 11 has a width in the vehicle width direction on the front side (left side in FIG. 2) of the vehicle 1 in the plan view when deployed, and the rear side (right side in FIG. 2). ) Is wider than the width in the vehicle width direction. As described above, the airbag 11 is deployed in the order of the first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6a, the third expansion chamber 14 corresponding to the waist 6c, and the second expansion chamber 13 corresponding to the chest 6b.
Thereby, the airbag 11 can be deployed in a more accurate state with respect to the protection of the occupant 6. Since the airbag 11 is wider in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle 1 than on the rear side of the vehicle 1, the air between the side door 4 and the portion of the occupant 6 from the diagonally front side to the side surface. The bag 11 can be deployed. For this reason, the side surface portion of the occupant 6 can be more appropriately protected including a side collision from an oblique front.
The configuration of the airbag 11 will be specifically described with reference to FIGS.
The airbag 11 is opposed to the first base fabric 16 and the first base fabric 16 that form side surfaces on one side of the left and right sides in the vehicle width direction (in the illustrated example, the side door 4 side of the vehicle 1; see FIG. 1). A first side cloth 16 is formed between the first side cloth 16 and the first side cloth 16 to form the expansion chamber 10 between the left and right sides in the vehicle width direction (in the illustrated example, the vehicle interior side of the vehicle 1; see FIG. 1). Two base fabrics 17 are provided.
The first base fabric 16 and the second base fabric 17 have substantially the same shape, and are joined together at the periphery to form a bag shape. Further, the first base fabric 16 and the second base fabric 17 have sufficient height and front / rear length so as to protect the side surface of the occupant 6, and in particular, up to the shoulder 6a, chest 6b, and waist 6c of the occupant 6. And the front and rear lengths covering the shoulder 6a and waist 6c of the occupant 6.
The upper edges of the first base fabric 16 and the second base fabric 17 are joined by the upper fabric 18, and the upper surface portion is formed by the upper fabric 18. Since the upper cloth 18 is provided, the upper end portion of the airbag 11 can be made flat, and the deployment width can be sufficiently secured without increasing the height direction of the airbag 11. Thereby, for example, the deployment of the curtain airbag from above is not hindered.
A first partition cloth 21 is provided in the expansion chamber 10 below the upper cloth 18 of the airbag 11, and a first expansion chamber 12 is formed in the expansion chamber 10 between the first partition cloth 21 and the upper cloth 18. . A second partition cloth 22 is provided in the expansion chamber 10 below the upper cloth 18 (below the first expansion chamber 12), and a second expansion cloth is provided between the second partition cloth 22 and the first partition cloth 21. A chamber 13 is formed.
Notches 21b and 22b through which an inner tube (described later) passes are provided at the same position in the vertical direction of the inflator (described later) behind the first partition cloth 21 and the second partition cloth 22, respectively. Yes.
The second partition cloth 22 is provided with holes 23 (three places), and the third expansion chamber 14 is formed in the expansion chamber 10 below the second partition cloth 22. The second expansion chamber 13 and the third expansion chamber 14 are partitioned by the second partition cloth 22, and the gas can freely flow through the holes 23.
The first base cloth 16 corresponding to the first expansion chamber 12 is provided with a first vent hole 12a, the first base cloth 16 corresponding to the second expansion chamber 13 is provided with a second vent hole 13a, The first base fabric 16 corresponding to the third expansion chamber 14 is provided with a third vent hole 14a. The deployment speed of the airbag 11 is adjusted by the first vent hole 12a, the second vent hole 13a, and the third vent hole 14a.
The upper cloth 18 and the first partition cloth 21 have substantially the same shape, and the width H1 in the vehicle width direction on the front front end side (left side in the figure) of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1) is the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1). ) At the rear rear end side (right side in the figure) of the vehicle width direction H2 is made wider (H1> H2). That is, the upper cloth 18 and the first partition cloth 21 are formed so as to gradually become wider toward the front.
In this embodiment, the upper cloth 18 and the first partition cloth 21 have substantially the same shape, but only the upper cloth 18 has a width H1 in the vehicle width direction on the front front end side (left side in the figure) of the vehicle 1. However, as long as it is wider than the width H2 in the vehicle width direction on the rear rear end side (right side in the figure) of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1), the first partition cloth 21 is the same as the second partition cloth 22. A substantially rectangular shape may be used. In other words, it is sufficient if the width of the upper cloth 18 in the vehicle width direction is a wide-angle shape that becomes wider as it goes forward.
Since the upper cloth 18 and the first partition cloth 21 having a wider width H1 in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1) than the rear side of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1) are used, The first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6a (see FIG. 2) can be the airbag 11 having a wide width in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1).
The inner tube 26 provided on the rear side of the vehicle 11 (see FIG. 1) of the airbag 11 extends in the vertical direction along the rear end of the airbag 11, and the inner tube 26 has an upper end portion. An inflator 25 having a gas blowing part 25a is provided. The inflator 25 is provided so as to be covered (contained) with a cylindrical inner tube 26, and the inner tube 26 extends in the vertical direction of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1). An upper outlet 26 a is provided on the upper side of the inner tube 26, and a lower outlet 26 b is provided on the lower side of the inner tube 26.
The upper outlet 26 a of the inner tube 26 is disposed at a position corresponding to the first partition cloth 21, and the lower outlet 26 b of the inner tube 26 is disposed downward facing the third expansion chamber 14.
Although details will be described later, the first partition cloth 21 is folded in a valley fold along a fold line 21a extending in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1), and the folded portion 21c (fold line 21a) of the first partition cloth 21 in the valley fold state. Is provided below the upper outlet 26 a of the inner tube 26. Then, the first partition cloth 21 is opened in the width direction by the deployment of the airbag 11, so that the opened first partition cloth 21 is positioned above the upper outlet 26a of the inner tube 26, and the upper outlet 26a is the second outlet. The expansion chamber 13 also communicates.
In addition, it is also possible to fold the 1st partition cloth 21 in the mountain fold (tack fold) with the broken line 21a extended in the front-back direction of the vehicle 1 (refer FIG. 1). In addition, although mentioned later, although the upper cloth 18 and the 2nd partition cloth 22 were demonstrated in the state folded by the valley fold, the upper cloth 18 and the 2nd partition cloth 22 are similarly mountain-folded (tack) It is also possible to fold.
In the side airbag device 5 described above, when the side collision is detected, the inflator 25 is activated, and gas is ejected from the gas blowing portion 25a facing the front side of the vehicle. When the gas is ejected from the inflator 25, the airbag 11 is deployed between the occupant 6 (see FIG. 3) and the side door 4 (see FIG. 3). Note that the upper outlet 26a has a shape in which the inflator 25 is notched forward corresponding to the gas outlet 25a.
The state of deployment of the airbag 11 will be specifically described with reference to FIGS.
When the side surface of the vehicle 1 collides with the colliding object 7, the collision detection device detects the collision, and the control device in the vehicle determines whether the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed. When it is determined that the airbag 11 is inflated and deployed, an activation signal is sent to the inflator 25, and the inflator 25 is activated.
As shown in FIGS. 6 (a) and 7 (a), the upper cloth 18, the first partition cloth 21, and the second partition cloth 22 are folded in valleys in the width direction symmetrically about the center line P, respectively. In particular, when the airbag 11 is folded, the folded portion 21 c of the first partition cloth 21 is disposed below the gas blowing portion 25 a of the inflator 25. Moreover, since the hole 23 of the 2nd partition cloth 22 is also folded, it is in the state which is not opened.
Then, when the inflator 25 is operated and gas is ejected from the gas blowing part 25a (the initial stage of gas ejection), the gas flows into the first expansion chamber 12 from the upper blowing port 26a of the inner tube 26 toward the front. Since the folded portion of the first partition cloth 21 in the valley folded state is arranged below the upper outlet 26a of the inner tube 26 (because it is blocked from the second expansion chamber 13), the upper portion of the inner tube 26 The gas ejected from the outlet 26 a flows only into the first expansion chamber 12. At the same time, gas flows into the third expansion chamber 14 from the lower outlet 26 b of the inner tube 26.
As shown in FIGS. 6B and 7B, the gas is continuously blown from the gas blowing portion 25 a of the inflator 25, so that the folded first partition cloth 21 is opened in the width direction and the inner tube 26. The first partition cloth 21 is positioned on the upper side of the upper blowout port 26 a, and the upper blowout port 26 a communicates with the second expansion chamber 13 so that gas is blown into the second expansion chamber 13. At the same time, the gas inside the third expansion chamber 14 flows into the second expansion chamber 13 from the hole 23 of the second partition cloth 22.
Thus, the airbag 11 includes a first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6a of the occupant 6, a third expansion chamber 14 corresponding to the waist 6c of the occupant 6, and a second expansion chamber 13 corresponding to the chest 6b of the occupant 6. Will be expanded in the order. In other words, the first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6a of the occupant 6 is opened by the upper outlet 26a, the third expansion chamber 14 corresponding to the waist 6c of the occupant 6 is opened by the lower outlet 26b, and the first partition cloth 21 is opened. The notch 21b and the second divider cloth 22 of the first partition cloth 21 are opened by the opening of the first partition cloth 21 and communicated by the hole 23, and the gas flows into the notch 21b and the hole 23 to correspond to the chest part 6b of the occupant 6. The second expansion chamber 13 is opened.
For this reason, at the time of a side collision, after protecting (restraining) a place where the occupant 6 has a relatively high resistance, the chest 6b having a relatively low resistance can be protected more appropriately.
In this embodiment, the holes 23 are provided in the second partition cloth 22 (in three places). However, the holes 23 may be provided in the first partition cloth 21 and the holes may not be provided in the second partition cloth 22. Is possible. That is, the 1st partition cloth 21 and the 2nd partition cloth 22 in a present Example may be reverse, and the structure which provides the hole 23 is not restricted to the structure of a present Example.
In the side airbag device 5 described above, since the first expansion chamber 12 corresponding to the shoulder 6a is the airbag 11 having a wide width in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle 1, the shoulder of the occupant 6 when deployed. When the gap between the portion 6 a and the side door 4 is narrow, the airbag 11 may not reach the front side from the shoulder portion 6 a of the occupant 6. Therefore, first, the airbag 11 (especially the first expansion chamber 12) having a wider width is advanced toward the front, and the width direction is inflated with a time lag so as to pass through the shoulder 6a of the occupant 6 and appropriately It is necessary to develop. For this reason, the deployment of the airbag 11 is controlled so as to extend to the front side before it is further opened in the width direction.
That is, the upper cloth 18 that is valley-folded (or tuck-folded) is temporarily fixed by a temporary fixing member. For this reason, the airbag 11 is extended between the passenger | crew 6 and the side door 4 in the expansion | deployment process, Then, a temporary fixing member fractures | ruptures with expansion | deployment pressure, and it expand | deploys completely. For this reason, the airbag (first expansion chamber 12) having a width in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle wider than the rear side of the vehicle can be more appropriately deployed between the occupant 6 and the side door 4. it can.
The deployment state of the airbag 11 in the side airbag device 5 described above will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 8 shows a detailed situation of the upper cloth, FIG. 8 (a) shows a state where the folded state is temporarily fixed by a temporary stitching portion, and FIG. 8 (b) shows a state where the folding is partially opened (while the airbag is being deployed). ). FIG. 9 shows a plane for explaining the deployment state of the airbag with respect to the occupant. FIG. 9A shows the start of deployment, FIG. 9B shows the deployment process, and FIG. 9C shows the deployment completed. is there. FIG. 10 shows a plane for explaining the state of the airbag with respect to the occupant at the time of a side collision.
A temporary fixing member of the upper cloth 18 will be described with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 8A, the temporary fixing member of the present embodiment is constituted by a cord-like member, for example, a thread member 31 (thread). The thread member 31 is individually passed through a plurality of locations between joint portions of the upper fabric 18, the first base fabric 16, and the second base fabric 17 extending in the vehicle front-rear direction, and a broken line 18 a is formed by folding the upper fabric 18 at each location. The thread member 31 is stopped so as to be orthogonal to the (center line P) to form a temporary stitching portion 32. That is, it can be said that the first base fabric 16 and the second base fabric 17 are temporarily sewn. The temporary stitching portion 32 has a different stitch width in the front-rear direction of the vehicle 1 (see FIG. 1), and the front stitch width h1 is wider than the rear stitch width h2.
For this reason, the temporary seam 32 is deployed between the occupant 6 and the side door 4 without breaking, and as shown in FIG. 8 (b), in the process of deploying the airbag 11, the seam is wide from the front seam. Break and unfold.
The deployment state of the airbag 11 will be described based on FIG.
As shown in FIG. 9A, in the initial stage of deployment, the temporary stitching portion 32 is extended between the occupant 6 and the side door 4 before breaking. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 9B, the seam on the front side of the vehicle 1 is broken by the development pressure, and the portion of the occupant 6 extending from the diagonally front side to the side surface is developed. Subsequently, as shown in FIG. 9C, the seam on the rear side of the vehicle is broken, and the side portion of the occupant is developed.
Since the provisional stitching portion 32 is provided to control the deployment state of the airbag 11 during the deployment process, the airbag (first expansion chamber 12) having a wider width in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle is attached to the occupant 6. And the side door 4 can be more appropriately deployed.
That is, when the clearance between the shoulder 6 a of the occupant 6 and the side door 4 is narrow, the airbag 11 reaches the front from the shoulder 6 a of the occupant 6, and the airbag 11 is deployed between the occupant 6 and the side door 4. be able to. In particular, by increasing the width of the seam in the forward direction, the front seam is easily broken, and the wide front portion can be effectively deployed.
In addition, the width of the seam of the temporary stitching portion 32 is made uniform in the front-rear direction, the width on the front side is narrowed, the front side (the wide side) is weakened, and the rear side (the narrow side) is advanced. It is also possible to sew tightly and temporarily fix.
As shown in FIG. 10, the side door 4 is expanded between the occupant 6 and the side door 4 by deploying the airbag (first expansion chamber 12) widened in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle. The width of the airbag 11 diagonally forward of the shoulder 6a of the occupant 6 that is relatively short can be increased. For this reason, even if the collision object 7 invades from diagonally forward, the shoulder portion 6a located near the side door 4 can be more appropriately protected.
Another embodiment of the temporary fixing member will be described with reference to FIGS.
FIG. 11 shows a state of a temporary fixing member that temporarily fixes with a single string member as a cord-like member. FIG. 11 (a) is a state in which the folded state is temporarily fixed, and FIG. FIG. 11C shows a partially opened state (while the airbag is being deployed), when deployment is completed.
FIG. 12 shows the situation of a temporary fixing member that temporarily fixes with a hook-and-loop fastener, FIG. 12 (a) shows a state in which a hook-and-loop fastener having the same width is used in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and FIG. FIG. 12C shows a state using a surface fastener having a wide front side in the front-rear direction, and FIG. 12C shows a state using a surface fastener having a wide rear side in the front-rear direction of the vehicle.
In the temporary fixing member shown in FIG. 11, one thin string member 35 (narrow string) is sewn to one side in the front-rear direction of the vehicle (from the front to the rear) alternately in the front-rear direction and the vehicle width direction. Temporarily fixed in the direction. The front end portion of the string member 35 is fastened to the joint portion between the upper cloth 18 and the first base fabric 16 (the second base fabric 17 may be used), and the rear end portion is broken by the deployment of the airbag (the first base fabric). The cloth 16 or the second base cloth 17 and the upper cloth 18 are detached from the joint portion), and the fastening is released.
As shown in FIG. 11A, the string member 35 forms a sewed stitch shape (running stitch shape) extending in the front-rear direction of the first base fabric 16 and the second base fabric 17 with the upper fabric 18 interposed therebetween. That is, the string member 35 is stitched so as to go back and forth in the vehicle width direction at the junction between the first base fabric 16 or the second base fabric 17 and the upper fabric 18 and to advance in one of the front and rear directions. The widths of these are made uniform and temporarily fixed.
As shown in FIG. 11 (b), the first base fabric 16 or the second base fabric 17 and the upper fabric in which the string member 35 on the rear side of the vehicle is temporarily sewn in the vehicle width direction and the front-rear direction in the process of deploying the airbag 11. As shown in FIG. 11 (c), one string member 35 is extended when the airbag 11 is deployed.
In addition, it is preferable that the length of the string member 35 is shorter than the length of the width in front of the upper cloth 18 in order to open the upper cloth 18 more appropriately.
Therefore, the airbag 11 (first expansion chamber 12) can be more appropriately deployed between the occupant 6 and the side door 4 in the process of deployment.
The temporarily fixed member shown in FIG. 12 is temporarily fixed in a folded state by a hook-and-loop fastener 41.
The hook-and-loop fastener 41a shown in FIG. 12 (a) is a hook-and-loop fastener 41a having the same width in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Since the front and rear widths of the hook-and-loop fastener 41 are the same, the joining area becomes uniform, and the airbag 11 is gradually deployed from the rear in the process of being extended forward.
The hook-and-loop fastener 41b shown in FIG. 12 (b) is a hook-and-loop fastener 41b having a large front width in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. Since the front fastener 41b has a large width on the front side, the joining area on the front side is increased, and the airbag 11 is more appropriately extended forward in the process of deployment.
The hook-and-loop fastener 41c shown in FIG. 12 (c) is a hook-and-loop fastener 41c having a large rear width in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Since the hook-and-loop fastener 41c has a large rear width, the front-side joining area is reduced, and the front side can be more appropriately deployed in the process of extending and deploying the airbag 11.
By adjusting the bonding area using the hook-and-loop fastener 41, the unfolded state can be easily controlled arbitrarily.
In the above-described side airbag device 5, the airbag (first expansion chamber 12) 11 has a wider width in the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle. 11 can be widened. For this reason, even if the collision object 7 invades from diagonally forward, the shoulder portion 6a located near the side door 4 can be more appropriately protected.
Since the provisional fastening portion is provided to control the deployment state of the airbag 11 in the deployment process, the vehicle width direction on the front side of the vehicle even when the clearance between the shoulder 6a of the occupant 6 and the side door 4 is narrow The airbag 11 (the first expansion chamber 12) having a wide width can be made to reach the front from the shoulder 6 a of the occupant 6, and the airbag 11 can be deployed more appropriately between the occupant 6 and the side door 4. .
The present invention can be used in the industrial field of a side airbag device in which an airbag is deployed on the side of a vehicle seat.
