  • the image display device can generate a sound indication upon termination of the allotted time duration, such sound indication serving to the purpose of providing a second time duration to the users before returning to the stand-by mode, i.e. before deenergizing the electronic control unit.
  • This second time duration is helpful in situations where the image display device remained in stand-by mode during which a loss of power occurred and power to the device was not manually shut off.
  • the image display device upon restoration of power, the image display device will typically execute the same method and enter in command mode in association with the method for operating the image display device according to the invention.

Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de faire fonctionner un dispositif d'affichage d'image. Selon la présente invention, lorsque le dispositif d'affichage d'image est connecté à l'alimentation pour la première fois, c'est-à-dire après avoir été déconnecté et reconnecté, le dispositif entre dans ce qu'on appelle un mode de commande au lieu du mode d'attente. L'état opérationnel du dispositif est maintenu en mode de commande pendant une durée prédéterminée, au cours de laquelle toutes les actions de routine pour activer le dispositif sont exécutées à l'exception que le panneau d'affichage et les haut-parleurs ne sont pas commandés.
