The present invention relates to a toilet seat cushion (also referred to as a “toilet seat cover”) that covers an upper part of a toilet seat of a Western-style toilet.

Conventionally, a cover that covers the toilet seat has been used in order to avoid a cold and hard feel when sitting directly on a synthetic resin toilet seat. In particular, due to the recent increase in power saving awareness, an increasing number of people wear toilet seat covers instead of warming the toilet seat or lowering the set temperature, so the demand for toilet seat covers is great.

As such a cover, a knit bag-like one or a knit one-piece with a fastener was initially used. This is also called “first generation” and is generally called “toilet seat cover”. When this toilet seat cover is used for a U-type toilet seat, there is no problem, but in the case of an O-type toilet seat and a toilet seat with a washing and heating device, there is a drawback that the installation is very troublesome.

Recently, a pair of crescent-shaped base fabric type covers that are attached to the toilet seat surface are increasing. This is also called "second generation" and is often called "toilet seat". As a method of attaching the toilet seat sheet to the toilet seat surface, a method of laminating a self-adhesive resin on a base fabric (for example, JP-A-2002-233476) is common. The toilet seat has the advantage that it is easy to wash and install, but because it is flat, it is inevitable that the human body and the toilet seat may be in direct contact with each other at the edge of the seat. The present inventor considered that investigation from the human body side and investigation from the toilet seat side are indispensable in order to remove this discomfort.

The basic standard human body dimensions required for investigation from the human body side are as follows ("Human Data for Design", edited by Biotechnology Research Institute, published by Human Life Engineering Research Center).

As data necessary for the investigation from the toilet seat side, the following maximum value and minimum value were obtained by measuring the dimensions of 11 types of toilet seats currently sold in Japan at the following three locations a, b, and c. In the measurement results of various toilet seats, the maximum toilet seat width is about 370 mm, and substantially coincides with the lateral width at the position of point a (see the illustration in Table 2). The above-mentioned human body seating surface width (average 348.1 mm) is also the maximum at point a, but the maximum toilet seat width of about 370 mm is considered to be a distance that a person can naturally sit with a sufficient margin.

It has been found that the object of the present invention can be achieved if it can cover at least the cold sensing range and does not hinder the operation of the washing nozzle. For example, as illustrated in the following embodiments, the toilet seat cushion may extend backward beyond the plane range (T), and it is preferable.
