  • a ball valve is typically installed in a pipe and can be operated by a valve stem coupled to a ball member having a through hole. By rotating the ball inside the valve, the opening or closing of the valve to control the flow through the pipe can be performed: when the passageway through the ball is aligned with the pipe, liquid can flow easily through it, and when the passageway is arranged perpendicular to the valve ends, the flow of liquid is impeded by closing the valve.

  • Injecting medium with a predetermined temperature into the hollow space leads to a very efficient and easy way of controlling the temperature of the ball member and thereby also of the valve per se.
  • the valve can maintain the temperature of a substance flowing through the passageway and can also prevent said substance from cooling and thereby setting.
