Abstract

A hijri calendar for a clockwork movement comprising: - a date indicator with 30 positions; - a first date driving mechanism intended to use a wheel (4) of the movement to drive the date indicator by a single step at the end of each day; - a second mechanism correcting the length of the months arranged to cooperate with said first date driving mechanism in order to drive the date indicator by two successive steps at the end of 29-day months, said second mechanism correcting the length of the months comprising a month cam (12) having six bosses (60) and six hollows (62), each hollow (62) defining a position of the month cam (12) corresponding to a 29-day month and each boss (60) defining a position of the month cam (12) corresponding to a 30-day month; - a third locking mechanism cooperating with said other two mechanisms and intended to temporarily neutralise the action of said second mechanism correcting the length of the months at the end of the twelve months of the leap years, defined by a 30-year correction cycle. The third locking mechanism is arranged so as, during the last month of said leap years, to lock the months cam (12) in a position corresponding to a 30-day month, such that the date indicator displays 30 on the last day of the twelfth and final month of said leap years.
