ここで、本実施形態におけるインステップカバー1は、少なくとも前後一対の針床を備え、前後の針床間で編目の目移しが可能な横編機を用いて編成することができる。以下、2枚の針床を備える横編機を用いてインステップカバー1の編成手順の一例を、図3に示す編成手順の模式図に基づいて説明する。
図3に示す編成方法では、針床の長手方向にインステップカバー1の右側部分と左側部分とを並べた状態で編成した。これに対して、横編機の一方の針床でインステップカバー1の右側部分を編成し、他方の針床でインステップカバー1の左側部部分を編成しても良い。その場合も、靴紐保持部4を構成する両保持ユニット4U1,4U2は、図3を参照して説明した編成手順と同様の手順で編成することができる。
実施形態1では、図2に示すように、右側ホール4hRに左側ストラップ4sLの中間部を通し、左側ホール4hLに右側ストラップ4sRの中間部を通した。これに対して、ストラップ4sR,4sLを通すホールの位置を変更してもかまわない。
実施形態1のインステップカバー1では、対となる第一保持ユニット4U1と第二保持ユニット4U2とを、シューズアッパー100の長さ方向におけるほぼ同じ位置に設けた。これに対して、両保持ユニット4U1,4U2を、シューズアッパー100の長さ方向におけるずれた位置に設けてもかまわない。この場合、左側紐通し孔と右側紐通し孔とがジグザグ状に配置されたインステップカバー1となる。
第一保持ユニット4U1(第二保持ユニット4U2)のみを設けると共に、その第一保持ユニット4U1(第二保持ユニット4U2)の紐通し孔に対応する鳩目孔を設けたインステップカバー1としても構わない。この場合、スリット5Sを挟む一方の側に紐通し孔が並び、他方の側に鳩目孔が並んだインステップカバー1となる。

Claims (3)
- シューズを構成するシューズアッパーのうち、着用者の甲側の部分を覆うインステップカバーであって、着用者が足を挿入する履き口から爪先に向かって延びるスリットと、前記スリットの間隔を調整する靴紐を保持するための靴紐保持部と、を備えるインステップカバーにおいて、
前記靴紐保持部は、前記スリットの縁部を含むスリットエッジ領域に設けられるホールと、紐状体の一端と他端とが前記スリットエッジ領域に繋がることで形成され、その紐状体の中間部を前記ホールの位置に持ってきて前記ホールから引き出すことができる長さを有する環状のストラップと、で構成される保持ユニットを備えることを特徴とするインステップカバー。 - 前記インステップカバーにおける前記スリットエッジ領域のうち、前記スリットを左右に分ける中心線よりも右側の部分を右側エッジ領域、左側の部分を左側エッジ領域としたとき、
前記靴紐保持部は、
前記右側エッジ領域に形成される右側ホール、及び前記左側エッジ領域に繋がる左側ストラップで構成される第一保持ユニットと、
前記左側エッジ領域に形成される左側ホール、及び前記右側エッジ領域に繋がる右側ストラップで構成され、前記第一保持ユニットと対で用いられる第二保持ユニットと、を備え、
前記インステップカバーの長さ方向における前記右側ホールの位置は、前記右側ストラップを構成する紐状体の爪先側接続部と踵側接続部との間であり、
前記インステップカバーの長さ方向における前記左側ホールの位置は、前記左側ストラップを構成する紐状体の爪先側接続部と踵側接続部との間であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のインステップカバー。 - 請求項1または請求項2に記載のインステップカバーと、着用者の足裏を覆うソールカバーと、前記インステップカバーに設けられる前記スリットの間隔を調整する靴紐と、を備え、
前記ストラップの中間部が二つ折りにされた状態で前記ホールに通され、そのホールから引き出された前記中間部によって形成される紐通し孔に前記靴紐が通された状態で保持されていることを特徴とするシューズアッパー。
