Description

액정 렌즈는 다양한 용도에 사용될 수 있는데, 예를 들면, 3D 디스플레이 장치에 사용될 수 있다. 액정 기술이 끊임없이 발전함에 따라, 액정 재료는 다양한 분야에 광범위하게 응용되고 있다.

도 5에서 도시된 바와 같이, 상기 금형(100)은 롤(501) 형상일 수 있다. 즉, 도 5에서와 같이 상기 금형(100)은 비평면(101)이 외부에 존재하는 상태의 롤(501) 형상으로 형성되어 있을 수 있다. 이 경우, 하나 이상의 볼록부가 선 형상으로 롤(501)에 형성되어 있을 수 있다. 곡면 또는 3차원 형상 패터닝 기술은 매우 복잡한 공정으로 제작이 어려우나, 본 출원에 따른 금형(100)을 사용함으로써, 복합 미세 형상을 용이한 공정으로 제작 가능하고, 롤투롤 공정(500)과 같은 연속 공정에 적용할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 공정상의 난이도가 낮아져서 적용이 용이해질 수 있다.
본 출원의 구체예에 의한 액정 렌즈용 배향 필름(200)은, 일례로 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이, 하나 이상의 비평면상(201)에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수의 돌기부(202)를 포함하는 액정 배향 패턴이 형성되어 있다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 배향 필름(200)의 비평면(201)은 일 방향으로 연장되는 오목부의 형상을 가질 수 있다.
상기 배향 필름에서의 비평면(201) 및/또는 돌기부(202)의 형태, 사이즈 등은 특별히 제한되지 않고, 상기 배향 필름의 비평면(201)은 전술한 금형의 비평면(101)이 전사된 형태일 수 있으며, 마찬가지로 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)는 전술한 금형의 돌기부(102) 및 홈(103)에 의해 전사된 형태일 수 있다.
상기에서 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)의 폭(W), 높이(H) 또는 피치(P)의 범위는 특별히 제한되지 않고, 상기 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)가 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 범위라면 특별히 제한되지 않는다. 예를 들면, 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)의 폭은 0.5 ㎛ 내지 10 ㎛ 일 수 있고, 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)의 피치는 0.0.5 ㎛ 내지 20 ㎛ 일 수 있다. 또한, 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)의 높이 또는 깊이는 0.01 ㎛ 내지 5 ㎛일 수 있다. 상기 범위 내로 사이즈를 조절하여 형성된 돌기부가 적절한 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있다.
본 출원의 금형 및 배향 필름으로 전술한 바와 같이 액정 렌즈 형상의 액정 필름을 제조할 수 있고, 상기 액정 필름은 무안경의 입체 영상 장치를 구현하는데 사용될 수 있다.
본 출원은 또한 상기 배향 필름 또는 금형의 제조 방법에 대한 것이다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 배향 필름은 전술한 금형의 전사 패턴을 피전사체 상으로에 전사시켜서 액정 배향 패턴을 형성함으로써 제조할 수 있다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 배향 필름의 제조는 도 5와 같이 롤 형상을 하는 금형을 통해 롤-투-롤 공정으로 제조할 수 있다.
또 다른 구체예에서, 도 3은 상기 액정 배향 필름의 예시적인 제조 방법을 나타낸다. 도 3과 같이 상기 제조 방법은, 평면상의 피전사층(302)에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부(202)를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하고, 상기 패턴이 형성되어 있는 피전사층(302)의 표면을 비평면(201)으로 형성하는 것을 포함한다. 상기에서, 배향 필름의 비평면(201)은 렌즈 형상을 형성하는 비평면(201)일 수 있다. 또한, 상기 피전사층(302)의 표면을 비평면(201)으로 형성하는 것은 상기 비평면(201)의 표면에 상기 돌기부(202)의 형태가 유지되도록 수행할 수 있다. 상기와 같은 제조 방법에 따라 배향 필름을 형성하는 경우, 높은 곡률 반경을 갖는 곡면 및 복잡한 3차원 형상에 신뢰성이 높은 미세 패턴을 형성할 수 있다. 상기에서, 돌기부(202)를 형성하는 것 및/또는 비평면(201)을 형성하는 것은 당업계의 공지의 방법으로 수행될 수 있으며, 예를 들면, 핫엠보싱(hot embossing) 또는 나노임프린트(nanoimprint)공정을 통해 수행될 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
본 명세서에서 용어 「핫엠보싱」은, 피전사층 상에 원하는 형상이 각인된 몰드를 이용하여 일정량의 압력과 온도를 가하여 형상을 복제해 내는 공정을 의미한다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 피전사층은 열가소성 플라스틱일 수 있으며, 상기 열가소성 플라스틱은 온도가 높아짐에 따라 점성을 갖는 유체의 흐름 거동을 보이는데, 이때 음각 또는 양각의 특정 형상이 각인된 몰드를 이용하여 압착하면, 형상의 빈 공간을 플라스틴 유체가 채우게 되며, 이후 몰드를 제거하여 형상을 복제할 수 있다.
상기 평면상의 피전사층(302)을 구성하는 소재는 예를 들어 핫 엠보싱(hot embossing) 공정에 의해 형태를 형성할 수 있는 소재라면 특별히 제한되지 않는다. 상기 피전사층(302)은 핫엠보싱 단계를 통해 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부(202)의 형성에 있어서, 신뢰성이 높은 초미세 요철 구조 형상의 각인이 용이하며, 핫엠보싱 공정에서 열분해가 되지 않고, 기타 열성형 공정에서 원치 않은 부반응이 개입되지 않는 우수한 열성형성을 갖는 고분자 소재라면 특별히 한정되지 않는다. 이와 더불어, 후술하는 지지층(303)을 형성함에 있어서, 지지층 소재의 용액 코팅 공정에서 용해도가 없는 소재가 바람직하다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 평면상의 피전사층(302)은 열가소성 폴리머를 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 상기 피전사층(302)은 폴리메틸 메타크릴레이트(PMMA), 에틸렌비닐아세테이트(EVA), 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET), 폴리아미드(PA), 사이클로올레핀 폴리머(COP), 사이클로올레핀 코폴리머(COC), 폴리염화비닐(PVC), 폴리에틸렌 나프탈레이트(PEN), 폴리카보네이트(PC), 폴리에테르설폰(PES), 폴리부틸렌 테레프탈레이트(PBT), 아크릴로니트릴-부타디엔-스타이렌(ABS), 폴리아세탈(POM), 폴리에테르이미드(PEI) 폴리페닐설폰(PPSU), 폴리아마이드이미드(PAI) 및 폴리프로필렌(PP)으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 하나 이상을 포함할 수 있다.
하나의 예시에서, 본 출원의 배향 필름(200) 제조방법은, 상기 피전사층(302)의 표면을 비평면(201)으로 형성하기 전에, 패턴상에 지지층(303)을 형성하는 것을 포함할 수 있다. 즉, 배향 필름의 돌기부(202)를 우선 형성하고, 다시 비평면(201)을 엠보싱에 의해 형성함에 있어서, 경우에 따라서는 상기 비평면(201)을 형성하는 과정에서 가해지는 열 등에 의해 이미 형성되어 있는 돌기부(202)의 형태가 유지되지 못할 수 있다. 이러한 점을 방지하기 위하여 상기 엠보싱, 즉 비평면(201)을 형성하기 전에 이미 형성되어 있는 패턴 상에 지지층(303)을 형성할 수 있다.

구체적으로, 상기 지지층(303)을 형성하는 단계는 스핀 코팅(spin coating), 롤 코팅(roll coating), 딥 코팅(deep coating), 분무 코팅(spray coating), 딥 코팅(dip coating), 플로우 코팅(flow coating), 바 코팅(bar coating), 닥터 블레이드(doctor blade), 디스펜싱(dispensing) 또는 박막 라미네이팅(thin film laminating)으로 이루어진 군에서 선택된 하나 이상의 방법으로 수행할 수 있다.
하나의 예시에서, 상기 건식 증착 방법은 화학 기상 증착법(Chemical Vapor Deposition), 플라즈마 스퍼터링(Plasma Sputtering), 증발 증착법(Evaporation), 및 원자층 증착법(Atomic Layer Deposition)으로 이루어진 군에서 선택한 방법으로 수행할 수 있다.
본 출원의 일 구현예에 따른 상기 제조 방법은, 상기 비평면(201)으로 형성한 후에, 지지층(303)을 제거하는 것을 추가로 수행할 수 있다. 상기 지지층(303)을 제거하는 단계는 지지층에 대해서는 에칭성이 있고 피전사층(302)에 대해서는 에칭성이 없는 물질을 사용하여 수행할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 전술한 PVA나 PVP와 같은 수용성 고분자의 경우, 물이나 알코올 용액, 예를 들면, 이소프로필 알코올(Isopropyl alcohol, IPA)을 이용하여 선택적인 제거가 용이하다. 한편, 전술한 졸-겔형 금속 산화물의 경우 희석된 산성 수용액으로 제거할 수 있고, 구체적으로, 1%의 HCl 수용액으로 선택적으로 제거할 수 있으나, 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 상기 지지층(303)은 상기 설명한 바와 같이, 핫엠보싱 시 돌기부(202)를 포함하는 패턴을 유지시켜주는 역할을 할 수 있으며, 상기 비평면(201)을 형성한 후에는, 제거되어 돌기부(202)가 비평면(201)상에 형성되도록 할 수 있다.
본 출원은 또한, 액정 렌즈용 배향 필름(200)을 형성하기 위한 금형(100)의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 하나의 예시에서, 금형(100)은 전술한 방법으로 제조된 배향 필름을 본 떠서 형성될 수 있다. 상기 금형의 제조 방법은 평면상의 피전사층에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하고, 상기 패턴이 형성되어 있는 피전사층의 표면을 비평면으로 형성한 후에 상기 비평면의 형태를 피전사체에 전사시키는 것을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 금형(100)은 렌즈 형상을 형성할 수 있는 하나 이상의 비평면(101) 및 상기 비평면(101)의 표면에 형성되어 있으며 액정 배향능을 가지는 홈(103)을 형성할 수 있는 하나 이상의 돌기부(102)를 포함하는 금형(100)일 수 있다.
또한, 본 출원은 전술한 배향 필름을 통해 액정 필름을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 예시적인, 액정 필름의 제조 방법은 전술한 배향 필름의 비평면상에 액정 물질을 주입하여 액정층을 형성하는 것을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 제조 방법은 액정층 상에 액정 물질을 밀봉하도록 배향막을 형성하는 것을 포함할 수 있다. 한편, 상기 배향막은, 당업계의 공지의 소재를 사용하여 제조할 수 있으며, 예를 들면, 미세 선형 요철 패턴 배향 공정, 광배향 공정 또는 러빙(rubbing) 배향 공정으로 형성될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 배향막은 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 것이라면 특별히 제한되지 않고 공지의 배향막을 적용할 수 있다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 배향막은 액정 배향능을 나타내는 배향 방향이 하부의 액정층의 돌기부의 정렬 방향과 대응되도록 형성될 수 있다. 상기에서, 액정층의 돌기부란, 전술한 배향 필름에 액정 물질을 주입함으로써, 배향필름의 돌기부 또는 홈부에 의해, 액정 물질로 형성된 돌기부를 의미할 수 있다. 또한, 주입된 액정 물질은 경화 공정을 거쳐 최종적으로 액정층을 형성할 수 있으며, 상기 경화 공정은 공지의 방법으로 진행할 수 있고, 예를 들면, 자외선 조사 또는 열경화 공정을 실시할 수 있다. 하나의 예시에서, 상기 배향막은, 액정층의 돌기부가 형성된 면의 반대 면에 적층되어 액정을 배향할 수 있다. 즉, 두꺼운 액정층에서, 돌기부가 형성된 면과 가까운 영역은 액정 배향이 잘 형성되지만, 그 반대면은 배향이 잘 형성되지 않으므로, 반대면에 형성된 액정 분자를 배향하는 역할을 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 액정이 충진된 렌즈의 영역 전체에도 균일한 액정 배향을 유도할 수 있다.
본 출원에서는 내부에 액정이 잘 배향되어 있는 액정 렌즈를 효과적으로 제조할 수 있는 배향 필름 또는 이를 형성하기 위한 금형을 제공할 수 있다. 특히 본 출원에 따르면, 렌즈의 형상을 구현하기 위하여 곡면과 같은 비평면상의 공간에 충전된 액정이 효과적으로 배향되어 액정 렌즈가 형성될 수 있다.

이하 본 발명에 따르는 실시예 및 본 발명에 따르지 않는 비교예를 통하여 본 발명을 보다 상세히 설명하나, 본 발명의 범위가 하기 제시된 실시예에 의해 제한되는 것은 아니다.
실시예 1
포토 리소그래피 공정과 건식 식각 공정을 이용하여, 피치 8㎛, 폭 2㎛ 및 높이 3.5㎛의 선형 격자 석영 기재를 형성하고, 2mTorr, C4F8 = 30 sccm, ICP : RF = 1000 : 50W의 조건으로 건식 식각 공정을 통해, 피치 8㎛, 폭 2㎛ 및 높이 2.5㎛의 패턴 마스터 몰드를 각각 제작하였다. 이 후, 석영 기재에 1 중량%로 희석된 불소화 실란(Fluorinated silane)(OPTOOLTM, Daikin Industires, LTD.) 용액을 스핀코팅을 통해 도포하고, 120℃에서 30분간 건조시켜 이형 처리를 진행하고, 자외선 경화용 PUV(Poly urethane acrylate) (SRMO4, ㈜미뉴타텍)를 패턴 면에 스핀코팅 방법으로(500rpm, 30초) 도포한 후, 180㎛ 두께의 PET 기재를 합지하여 자외선 조사(100W/cm-2, 120초)를 통해 경화 및 이형을 실시하여 패턴을 복제함으로써 몰드를 제조하였다.
상기 몰드를 사용하여, 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부(202)를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하는데 사용하였다. 즉, 도 3에 나타난 방식에 준하여 액정 배향 필름을 제조하였는데, 우선, 두께가 약 180㎛ 정도인 PMMA 필름을 사용하여 피전사층(302)을 형성하고, 이어서, 핫엠보싱 공정으로 상기 피전사층(302)상에, 전술한 몰드(피치가 약 8 ㎛ 정도이고, 높이가 약 2.5㎛ 정도이며, 폭이 약 2 ㎛ 정도)를 통해, 돌기부(202)를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하였다. 이어서 상기 패턴(202)상에 지지층(303)을 형성하였다. 지지층은, 공지의 졸-겔 반응성 티탄 알콕시드를 사용한 스핀 코팅 방식으로 이산화티탄(TiO2)층을 패턴(202)상에 형성하여 제조하였다.
상기 TiO2 졸-겔 전구체 용액은 질소가 충전된 글로브 박스에서 용매인 이소프로필 알코올(isopropyl alcohol) 50mL에 이산화 티탄의 전구체인 타탄 이소프로프옥사이드(Ti-isoproppoxide) 125mL와 촉매인 염산 2mL를 혼합하고, 약 10분간 교반하여 졸-겔 코팅 용액을 제조하였다.
이이서, 공기 중의 수분과 반응을 통해 가수 분해 및 축합 반응으로 티타늄 산화물(이산화 티탄, TiO2)이 형성될 수 있도록, 상온 및 65%의 상대 습도의 조건 하에서 방치하여 겔화시켰다.
이후, 상기 지지층(303)이 형성된 PMMA 필름에 렌티큘러 렌즈 형상의 몰드(기계 가공)를 통해 2차 핫엠보싱 공정을 진행하였다. 그 후, 염산(HCl) 수용액(염산 농도: 1 중량%)으로 지지층(TiO2)을 에칭시켜서 액정 배향 필름을 제조하였다. 도 8에 따르면, (a)는 상기 졸-겔 TiO2 전구체가 돌기부(202)에 선택적으로 충진되어 지지층(303)이 형성된 상태의 SEM 이미지고, (b)는 TiO2가 선택적으로 제거된 후의 SEM 이미지며, (c) 및 (d)는 렌즈 형상의 급격한 굴곡에도 미세 패턴이 잘 형성되어 있는 것을 보여주는 SEM 이미지이다.
실시예 2
실시예 1의 2차 핫엠보싱 공정에서 볼록 렌즈 기반의 렌티큘러 렌즈 형상 대신, 프레넬 렌즈 형상의 몰드(기계 가공)로 핫엠보싱 공정을 진행한 것을 제외하고, 실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 배향 필름을 제조하였다.
도 9 및 도 10은 상기 실시예 2에 따라 제조한 배향 필름의의 SEM 이미지이고, 상기 이미지를 통해 복잡한 형상의 프레넬 렌즈를 구성하는 급격한 경사를 갖는 굴곡에도 미세 패턴이 잘 형성되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
구체적으로, 도 9는 선 형상의 프레넬 렌즈 형상이 일 방향으로 연장되는 연장 방향과 돌기부의 선 형상의 연장 방향이 0도인 경우, 렌즈 축과 미세 선형 패턴이 평행하게 정렬된 것을 나타낸다. 또한, 도 10은 선 형상의 프레넬 렌즈 형상이 일 방향으로 연장되는 연장 방향과 돌기부의 선 형상의 연장 방향이 90도인 경우, 즉 렌즈 축과 미세 선형 패턴이 수직하게 정렬된 구조를 나타낸 SEM 이미지이다.
이는, 본 출원의 금형 및/또는 배향 필름에 따라 형성되는 렌즈의 렌즈의 배열 및 액정의 배향 방향이 자유롭게 제어될 수 있음을 나타낸다.
한편, 도 8 내지 10을 살펴보면, 졸-겔 반응을 통해 돌기부에 선택적으로 충진된 금속 산화물(TiO2)이 서로 연결되지 않고 끊어져 있는데, 이는 2차 엠보싱 공정, 즉, 렌즈 형상의 열성형 과정에서 피전사층의 표면 성형 및 표면적의 증가에 따라, 몰드의 경계 영역에서 피전사층 고분자의 전단 흐름(Shear flow)이 피전사층 전면에서 일어나는데 반해, 금속산화물은 피전사층의 열성형 온도에 아무런 형상의 변화를 보이지 않는다는 것을 의미한다.
실시예 3
실시예 2의 배향 필름 제조 방법에 있어서, 지지층(303)의 소재를 TiO2 졸-겔 전구체 대신 폴리비닐피롤리돈 고분자를 사용하였다.
실시예 2와 동일하게 1차 엠보싱 공정을 진행한 후, 폴리비닐피롤리돈 고분자를 용액의 스핀 코팅으로 지지층(303)을 충진시킨다. 이때 폴리비닐피롤리돈 고분자 용액은 이소프로필알코올에 10 내지 20 중량%로 용해시켜 준비하였다. 2차 엠보싱을 프레넬 렌즈 형상의 몰드를 이용해 렌즈 형상을 전사하고, 물 또는 이소프로필 알코올에 1분 정도 담지하여 지지층인 폴리피롤리돈 고분자를 선택적으로 제거하여 공정을 완성하였다.
도 11 및 12는 상기 실시예 3에 따라 제조한 배향 필름의 SEM 이미지이고, 상기 이미지를 통해 복잡한 형상의 프레넬 렌즈의 굴곡에도 미세 패턴이 잘 형성되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 도 11은 선 형상의 미세 오목부(홈부)가 일 방향으로 연장되는 연장 방향과 프레넬 렌즈의 렌즈 축이 90도인 경우, 즉 렌즈 축과 미세 선형 패턴이 수직하게 정렬된 구조를 나타낸 SEM 이미지이다. 또한, 도 12은 선 형상의 미세 오목부(홈부)가 일 방향으로 연장되는 연장 방향과 프레넬 렌즈의 렌즈 축이 0도인 경우, 렌즈 축과 미세 선형 패턴이 평행하게 정렬된 것을 나타낸다.
또한, 실시예 2에서의 TiO2 산화물이 서로 연결되어 있지 않고 끊어져 있는데, 폴리피롤리돈 고분자를 지지층(303)으로 사용하여 미세 패턴 유지 및 지지층 제거 후, 돌기부가 끊어짐 없이 연속적인 선형 패턴 구조를 얻을 수 있었다. 이는 폴리피롤리돈 고분자가, 2차 엠보싱 공정에서 평면상의 패턴 표면에서 프레넬 렌즈 요철 및 곡면으로 성형됨에 따라 비표면적이 넓어지는 과정에서, 미세 패턴의 빈 공간을, 피전사층 필름의 열적 유동과 동일한 비율로 균일하게 연신되어 얻어진 결과이다.
실시예 4
실시예 1과 동일한 방법으로 몰드를 제조하되, 초미세 돌기부를 형성하기 위해, 나노 선격자 구조, 폭이 약 75nm 정도, 피치가 약 150nm 정도 및 높이가 150nm 정도의 패턴을 마스터 몰드로 사용하여 형상을 복제하여 제조하였다.
초미세 오목부를 형성하기 위해, 나노선 격자 구조가 각인된 상기 몰드를 사용하여, 실시예 3과 동일한 방법으로 배향 필름을 제조하였다.
도 13는 폭이 약 0.075㎛ 정도, 피치가 약 0.150㎛ 정도 및 높이가 0.150㎛ 정도인 나노 선형 격자를 이용하여 제조된, 프레넬 렌즈 형상의 배향 필름의 SEM 이미지이다. 돌기부의 정렬 방향은 렌티큘러 렌즈 어레이의 렌즈축과 45도 방향을 이루도록 제작되었으며, 나노 크기의 돌기부가 프레넬 렌즈 형상의 상부 곡면 및 요철 상부에 균일하게 형성되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있다.
실시예 5
실시예 4에서 제작한 배향 필름(110mm × 110mm)의 액정 배향용 돌기부가 형성된 면에, 진공 증착 및 스퍼터링 방법으로, 구리-코발트(Cu-Co)를 약 0.015㎛ 두께로 증착하고, 전해도금(electro deposition)방법을 통해 구리를 약 800㎛의 두께로 도금하였다. 최종적으로, 상기 배향 필름을 제거하여, 배향 필름의 미세 형상이 복제된 전주 금형을 제작하였다. 도 14은 액정 배향용 돌기부가 각인된 프레넬 렌즈 어레이 형상의 금형의 이미지를 나타낸다.
실시예 6
<액정 배향 테스트>
실시예 4에서 제작한 배향 필름 상부의 오목한 곡면 상부에 액정 고분자를 채워서 액정층을 형성하고, 상부 기재로 상기 액정층을 밀봉하는 형태로 액정 시트를 제작하였다. 이때 상부 기재에도 하부의 렌즈 형상의 액정층에 형성된 배향 패턴과 동일한 방향으로의 배향막을 도입하였다.
구체적으로 살펴보면, 상기 배향막은 광배향 공정을 이용하여 제조하였다. 제작한 광배향막을 갖는 상부 필름과 상기 렌즈 형상의 액정층을 서로 마주보게 놓고 배향성을 부여한 방향이 동일하게 되도록 맞춘 다음, 렌티큘러 렌즈의 면에 액정 조성물(BASF사 LC242)을 경화 후의 두께가 렌즈의 두께가 되도록 도포한 후에, 그 상부에 상기 배향 처리된 배향막을 라미네이트하고, 자외선을 상기 배향막의 기재면으로 자외선 조사(500mJ/cm2)하여 액정 필름을 형성하였다.
비교예 1
프레넬 렌즈에 액정 배향용 돌기부가 없는 렌즈 필름을 제작하여 실시예 6과 동일한 공정으로 액정 배향 테스트용 샘플을 제작하였다. 도 15는 실시예 6과 비교예 1을 통해 제조한 각각의 액정 필름을 광축이 서로 교차된 두개의 편광판 사이에 두고, 배향 특성을 확인한 사진이다. 즉, 액정 배향용 돌기부의 유무에 따른 액정 배향 정도를 보여주고 있는 것으로 프레넬 렌즈에 나노 크기의 돌기부가 있는 필름의 경우, 우수한 액정 배향 특성을 보인다.

Claims (26)

  1. 하나 이상의 비평면상에 형성되어 있고, 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부를 포함하는 전사 패턴을 가지는 액정 배향 필름 형성용 금형.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 비평면은, 렌즈 형상으로 형성되어 있는 금형.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서, 비평면은, 렌즈 형상이 일 방향으로 연장되는 형태를 가지는 금형.
  4. 제 2 항에 있어서, 렌즈 형상은 볼록 렌즈 형상, 오목 렌즈 형상 또는 프레넬 렌즈 형상을 나타내는 금형.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 폭은 0.05 ㎛ 내지 10 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 금형.
  6. 제 1 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 피치는 0.05 ㎛ 내지 20 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 금형.
  7. 제 1 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 높이는 0.01 ㎛내지 5 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 금형.
  8. 제 1 항에 있어서, 비평면은 일 방향으로 연장되는 렌즈 형상을 가지고, 돌기부는 상기 렌즈 형상의 연장 방향과 0도 내지 90도의 범위 내에서 어느 한 각도를 이루는 선 형상으로 형성되어 있는 금형.
  9. 제 1 항에 있어서, 비평면이 외부에 존재하는 상태의 롤 형상으로 형성되어 있는 금형.
  10. 하나 이상의 비평면상에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수의 돌기부를 포함하는 액정 배향 패턴이 형성되어 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서, 비평면은, 렌즈 형상으로 형성되어 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  12. 제 11 항에 있어서, 비평면은, 렌즈 형상이 일 방향으로 연장되는 형태를 가지는 액정 배향 필름.
  13. 제 11 항에 있어서, 렌즈 형상은 볼록 렌즈 형상, 오목 렌즈 형상 또는 프레넬 렌즈 형상을 나타내는 액정 배향 필름.
  14. 제 10 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 폭은 0.05 ㎛ 내지 10 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  15. 제 10 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 피치는 0.05 ㎛ 내지 20 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  16. 제 10 항에 있어서, 돌기부의 높이는 0.01 ㎛ 내지 5 ㎛의 범위 내에 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  17. 제 10 항에 있어서, 비평면은 일 방향으로 연장되는 렌즈 형상을 가지고, 돌기부는 상기 렌즈 형상의 연장 방향과 0도 내지 90도의 범위 내에서 어느 한 각도를 이루는 선 형상으로 형성되어 있는 액정 배향 필름.
  18. 평면상의 피전사층에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하고, 상기 패턴이 형성되어 있는 피전사층의 표면을 비평면으로 형성하는 것을 포함하는 액정 배향 필름의 제조 방법.
  19. 제 18 항에 있어서, 비평면으로 형성하기 전에 패턴상에 지지층을 형성하는 것을 추가로 포함하는 제조 방법.
  20. 제 19 항에 있어서, 비평면으로 형성한 후에 지지층을 제거하는 것을 추가로 포함하는 제조 방법.
  21. 제 1 항의 금형의 전사 패턴을 피전사체 상으로 전사시키는 것을 포함하는 액정 배향 필름의 제조 방법.
  22. 평면상의 피전사층에 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있는 치수를 가지는 돌기부를 포함하는 패턴을 형성하고, 상기 패턴이 형성되어 있는 피전사층의 표면을 비평면으로 형성한 후에 상기 비평면의 형태를 피전사체에 전사시키는 것을 포함하는 금형의 제조 방법.
  23. 제 10 항에 따른 배향 필름의 비평면상에 액정 물질을 주입하여 액정층을 형성하는 것을 포함하는 액정 필름의 제조 방법.
  24. 제 23 항에 있어서, 액정층 상에 배향막을 형성하는 것을 포함하는 액정 필름의 제조 방법.
  25. 제 24 항에 있어서, 배향막은 미세 선형 패턴 배향 공정, 광배향 공정 또는 러빙 배향 공정으로 형성하는 액정 필름의 제조 방법.
  26. 제 24 항에 있어서, 배향막은 액정 배향능을 나타낼 수 있고, 상기 배향막의 배향 방향이 하부의 액정층의 돌기부의 정렬 방향과 대응되도록 형성되어 있는 액정 필름의 제조 방법.
