Abstract

La présente invention concerne un système à bord de détection d'accident et d'estimation de dommages de véhicule et un procédé d'utilisation. Conformément à un mode de réalisation, un véhicule est équipé d'un dispositif portatif comportant des capteurs qui surveillent le véhicule et l'activité du conducteur, et un module de collecte et d'évaluation de données. Des données de capteur entrantes sont comparées à des modèles historiques pour détecter le moment où un accident s'est produit. Une fois qu'un accident est détecté, une estimation de dommages et de préjudice est effectuée. Les informations peuvent être utilisées, par exemple, par un enquêteur ou un expert en déclaration de sinistre, pour réviser l'état ou le fonctionnement d'un véhicule au moment de l'accident. Des utilisations supplémentaires du système comprennent la notification à des intervenants d'urgence et la détermination du risque de conduite associé à des segments d'un réseau de transport.
