Abstract

L'invention concerne un luminaire de type lanterne comprenant un corps en forme de lanterne constitué d'un élément recevant une source de lumière et d'un élément d'où se dégage la lumière. L'élément d'où se dégage la lumière comporte une ou plusieurs facettes dans lesquelles est ménagée une ouverture au travers de laquelle la lumière peut sortir du corps en forme de lanterne. L'invention comporte également une source de lumière à diodes électroluminescentes, qui est située totalement à l'intérieur de la partie recevant la source de lumière, et qui sert à émettre la lumière vers l'intérieur de l'élément d'où se dégage la lumière, de façon que la lumière émise ressorte par l'une au moins des ouvertures. Cette configuration réduit l'éblouissement parce que la source de lumière n'est pas directement visible sous les angles d'observation normaux. En outre, une éventuelle dégradation affectant la source de lumière ne sera perceptible que par la quantité de lumière produite en sortie par le luminaire. Enfin, l'invention n'est pas sujette aux effets visibles indésirables tels que le noircissement de l'ampoule.
