Abstract

The present invention is directed to women's apparel. In preferred embodiments, the brassiere straps are hidden underneath the garment with the said device. The invention provides several different configurations with alternative fastening systems which can be advantageously used according to the invention.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to means for retaining clothing apparel, and in particular, brassiere straps, in a desired position. More particularly the present invention relates to providing means for fastening clothing at a desired position to the other clothing or the body to provide for an overall neaterappearance.
BACKGROUND ART
In many cases , having straps is problematic for the brassiere and the garment, which is because the brassiere straps can slide-off, thus not being completely covered by the garment. Nowadays, it is considered unsightly for women to wear a garment that reveals the brassiere straps. Thus, it particularly brings troubles since women need repeated manual adjustment to realign the brassiere strap and the garment.
In order to solve this problem, various types of solutions are provided. One alternative is to use safety pins but these are visible and their frequent usage could damage the clothing apparel. Another alternative is to use clips but that could not stick for longer duration especially during any physical activity and at the same it is aesthetically undesirable. Anothe r alternative is to use a garment with a built-in brassiere. Such arrangements are disclosed in, for example, U.S. Pat. No.5,478,278. Even though this arrangement may provide adequate breast support, it is also disadvantageous since the garment cannot move freely relative to the body of the brassiere. Another alternative is using sleeveless articles of clothin g, like U.S. Pat. No.5,914,166. However, this kind of article cannot give enough support and cannot achieve the objectives of the presently set forth brassiere requirements . Another alternative is to not wear a brassiere when wearing a sleeveless or thin strapped garment. This, obviously, is a disadvantage for full figured women or women performing sports or other physical activities.
Similarly there are other clothing's and garments that also require to be hold to a desirable position for different reasons . In yet another invention U.S. Pat. No.6,925, 656 B2, a magnet is used in order to secure an external device, such as a bag. In this case the magnet is attached to the body or shirt and is used to hold a device which is external to the wear 's body onto the wear's body. On the otherhand, our invention is specifically aimed at securing the brassiere strap underneath the garment in other to solve an esthetical problem. Thus, unlike U.S. Pat. No.6,925, 656 B2, our invention is used to fasten two or more embodiments together.
In yet another invention US. Pat. No. 2,719,303, a device is used to hold the undergarment strap to the garment to prevent exposing of the strap, such device is designed as an integrated part of the garment, in order to improve the article and accessory for women's wear. On the other hand, our invention is a modular device specifically designed to allow the wear flexibility of choice. Moreover, the fixed device presented at US. Pat. No. 2,719,303 increases the garment price and might also result in discomfort for the wearer.
Therefore what needed is a device that can be utilized to retain brassiere straps in a desired position and orientation upon a wearer's body. At the meantime, there is also a requirement that the clothing's, garments o r apparels retaining device should be easily added to or removedfromaperson's clothing's, garments or apparels without any damage to them. There is also a requirement that such means to retain the clothing's, garments or apparels should be invisible or if visible should not be aesthetically undesirable. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

While the invention is susceptible of various modifications and alternative constructions, certain illustrated embodiments thereof have been shown in the drawings and will be described below in detail. It should be understood, however, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the inventio n is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
Throughout the specification, guidance may be provided through lists of examples. In each instance, the recited list serves only as a representative group. It is not meant that the list is exclusive.
The clothing's, garments and apparel described herein can be any kind especially women's garments having front part and backpart, connected with garment supports along the shoulders such as brassieres, acting as beast holding device, having front body and back body. The breast holding device should use brassiere straps connected the front body and the back body. The straps can be non-removable or selectively removable from the brassieres.
As used herein, FIG. 1A illustrates one example of a problem with prior art arrangements of a brassiere and garment which is addressed by the present invention. In the illustrated embodiment, the garments straps 30 are relatively displaced and do not cover the brassiere straps 32 of the brassiere beneath the garment resulting in unaesthetic issues. FIG.1B is a side view and FIG. 1C is a back view of the same garment arrangement as FIG. 1A.
FIG.2 illustrates one embodiment of a brassiere 34 with straps 32 according to the prior art.
FIG 3 illustrates a top, plan view of a device according to one aspect of the present invention. The device is composed of two arms, the upper arm 36 and the lower arm 40, connected by a middle bridge 38. The middle bridge 38 is perpendicular to both arms 36 and 40. The middle bridge is of desired length and the length may vary depending upon thickness of the clothing article. The size of arm 36 may or may not be s lightly bigger than arm 40. A cushion may be embedded/ provided below the lower surface of the lower arm 40. Above the upper part 36 equipped with a fastening means 44 in order to fasten the garment above it. Fastening means may comprise, hook-and-loop fasteners, snap fasteners, double sided adhesive, or single sided adhesive, or any other adhesive or fastening mean. As normal glue will attach dirt and fiber fragments and will only work for a very limited time, preferably gecko glue is used as fastening mean that is washable and does not lose its sticking ability even after a million using cycles. Unlike any conventional glue, gecko glue undergoes chemical reaction with the substrate. It is simply a material with extremely high surface area. It results in Va n der Waals interactions between the glue "surface" and everything it will touch. Reference to Gecko -glue/ adhesive orgecko like adhesive is to include other families of structural adhesives such as lizards, beetles, tree frogs, spiders etc. Similarly spikes and/or micro spikes can also be used as fastening means . Therefore the fastening mean can also be used to fasten the strap to a desired position on skin of the wearer and may be employed on upper surface of the garment/ clothing article/strap.
Either of the arms can be equipped with a variety of retaining brackets 42 to prevent the movement of brassiere straps 32. The number of retaining brackets may vary. As illustrated, an adjustment arrangement of the arms and the bridge can be included for adjusting to the size, texture, color of the articles, accordingly. The device can be made fromany material such rubber, plastic etc.
FIG. 4 shows another angle of said device. The fastening mean 44 will contact with the garment 30 to prevent th e movement between garment 30 and brassiere strap 32. The retaining brackets 42 on lower arm 40 will prevent the movement of brassiere straps 32.
FIG. 6 shown therein is an illustrative view of the present invention in use. The strap retainer is positioned on the brassiere strap 32 beneath the garment, at any place above the wearer's shoulder. The device will contact with garment by a fastening mean 44 on the upper arm 36 in order to fasten the garment above it and help to prevent the movement between the garment 30 and brassiere strap 32.
The size and figure of said upper arm 36 & 36A, lower arms 40 & 40A, bridges 38 & 38A are determined by the size of the brassiere strap 32 to achieve the objective of the present invention. The shape of arms can be straight, arced or angular.
FIG. 5 shows an alternative design of said first device, of which the distance between arm 36 and 40 is adjustable by the wearer. Wherein, the middle bridge 38 is an adjustable bridge having means to angle between the arms 36, 40 and the middle bridge 38. The change in angle also changes the distance between both the arms . Available movement of upper arm 36 provides more capacities for the invention in terms of adjustments.
FIG. 7 illustrates a front, plan view of another embodiment of the first device. The device comprises of two parts . One part consists of a first shorter upper arm 36 and a first longer lower arm 40 connected at one end by a first middle bridge 38 and other part consist of a second longer upper arm 36A and a second shorter lower arm 40A connected at one end by a second middle bridge 38A. The middle bridge 38, 38A are perpendicular to both arms 36 & 40 and 36A and 40A respectively. The middle bridge is of desired length and the length may vary depending upon thickness of the clothing article. The said first lower arm 40 is having one locker part 46 at its other end, where the receptor 48A of said second shorter lower arm 40A gets locked 50A.
