Abstract

La presente invención es una trampa diseñada para la captura del mosquito Aedes aegypti. Utiliza estímulos visuales y químicos como mecanismo de atracción, los estímulos visuales se dan mediante el contraste de los dos colores, el rojo presente en el cuerpo de la trampa (1) y el negro en la entrada de la trampa (2). La trampa está conformada por un cuerpo en forma de pirámide truncada de base cuadrada (1) hecho con Polimetilmetacrilato translucido que tiene una abertura en el área latero apical en donde se ubica la entrada (2) de los mosquitos. Esta abertura (2) conduce hacia interior de la trampa gracias a su forma curva (22) y ángulo de inclinación que restringen la entrada de luz. Internamente, la trampa (1) presenta dos compartimentos (6, 7) el primero (6) funciona como zona de transición y el segundo (7) como zona de captura y confusión para los mosquitos. Una pared vertical (8) con ranuras (18) ubicada en el segundo compartimento (7) cumple el papel de elemento desorientador en relación a la luz que entra por las aberturas (16, 17), la humedad y volátiles que son emitidos por el cebo que está dispuesto en el reservorio (9) ubicado en la zona inmediatamente inferior al segundo compartimento (7). En conjunto, la trampa de la presente invención cuenta con varios elementos que potencializan la captura del mosquito por sus características interiores. Presenta una cubierta elástica de color rojo (10) que tiene la función de contrastar con el color negro de la entrada y al mismo sobresalir en el entorno.
