  • components which can be mounted in a printed circuit board, which are in the form of an electronic component and comprise light reflecting/inhibiting/directing components therein, can be produced with MEMS technique. These are moved by electric signals applied in the chip, thereby controlling light beams.
  • Controlling of the light beams include inhibiting/blocking or allowing the light, reflecting, focusing, and distributing it, or such interventions. These interventions can be made in all, or a part of the light beam coming to the device, depending on the properties of the MEMS device being used. MEMS devices make it possible to make these interventions in micro scale.

  • the object of the invention is to perform light directing processes with MEMS device or any other light source, instead of, or together with some of, the following which enable the light in headlamps to be directed; double-filament lamps for short-long distance lighting or individually grouped LEDs, various reflective systems and/or moveable mechanisms inside the headlamp, reflectors, mechanical components made of sheet metal or plastic, and solenoids or motors moving them.
  • Another object of the invention is to allow the light to be directed from the point where it is produced inside the headlamp, unlike the current techniques. Hence, it eliminates the disadvantages of the current techniques and provides novelties in terms of headlamp design and use.
  • the subject matter of the invention is the vehicle lighting system, particularly vehicle headlamp, which is produced using MEMS device, which enables the light source and the light emitted by the light source to be controlled. It will be possible in the thus produced headlamps to control light beams as desired while driving. Further, thanks to the MEMS device or MEMS chip, the sensed light intensity will be increased or decreased optionally, by switching on and off the light in a frequency which cannot be detected by human eye. Since vehicle lighting systems, particularly headlamps, will not comprise big-size mechanisms and reflectors, they will be smaller and less costly, at the same time more functional. Making the headlamps smaller in size will allow changes in vehicle designs, as well.
  • Such a lighting system can be used in all exterior lamps of the vehicles. For example, it is possible to signal by switching on and off the light, without requiring any flasher, in signal lamps. Or, a more effective data communication will be achieved by changing the light intensity or switching on/off frequency of the stop lamp such that it will be sensed by human eye, according to the braking force in rear stop lamps.
