Description
本出願は、2013年1月29日に日本国に特許出願された特願2013-014759の優先権を主張するものであり、この先の出願の開示全体をここに参照のために取り込む。
本発明は、光ファイバを用いる光走査装置に関するものである。
従来、光ファイバから被観察物に向けて光を照射して被観察物を走査し、被観察物で反射、散乱等される光、あるいは、非観察物で発生する蛍光等を検出する光走査装置が知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。
特許文献1に開示の光走査装置は、光ファイバの射出端部を振動させる圧電アクチュエータを備える。圧電アクチュエータは、光ファイバの射出端部を直交するX方向及びY方向に振動させる2つの圧電素子対を有し、X方向の圧電素子対及びY方向の圧電素子対に、位相が90°異なり振幅が徐々に増加する同じ周波数の電圧が印加される。これにより、光ファイバの射出端部は、X方向及びY方向の振動が合成されたスパイラル状に偏向されて、光ファイバから射出される光により被観察物がスパイラル走査される。
ところで、光ファイバの射出端部を振動させる場合は、射出端部の振動方向における共振周波数で振動させるのが、大きな振動振幅が得られる点で好ましい。また、特許文献1に開示のように、被観察物をスパイラル走査する場合は、X方向の圧電素子対及びY方向の圧電素子対に同じ周波数の電圧が印加されることから、射出端部のX方向及びY方向における共振周波数を同じにする必要がある。
しかしながら、特許文献1に開示の光走査装置においては、光ファイバの射出端部を揺動可能に保持する保持部において、光ファイバが軸周りに均一な保持力で保持されており、射出端部の軸周りにおける共振周波数が同じとなっている。そのため、射出端部をX方向又はY方向の第一軸方向に共振振動させると、射出端部が軸周りに振れ易くなって、振動方向と直交する第二軸方向にも僅かな力の成分が発生して、第二軸方向にも振幅の変位が生じる。その結果、走査線が直線ではなく楕円形状になり易い。
このように、一軸方向における振動軌跡が楕円形状になると、被観察物上の走査軌跡が不安定かつ歪を有するものとなって、精度の高い観察が困難になる。このような問題は、スパイラル走査に限らず、ラスタ走査やリサージュ走査を行う場合にも同様に生じる。また、圧電アクチュエータに限らず、コイル及び磁石を備える電磁アクチュエータにより光ファイバの射出端部を振動させる場合にも同様に生じる。なお、第二軸方向に生じた共振周波数の振動を検出し、その振動を相殺するように制御することも考えられるが、この場合は装置の駆動制御が複雑になる。
したがって、これらの点に着目してなされた本発明の目的は、複雑な制御を必要とせず、被走査物を簡単な構成で安定して走査できる光走査装置を提供することにある。
上記目的を達成する光走査装置の発明は、光ファイバと、該光ファイバの射出端部を振動可能に保持する保持部と、前記射出端部を振動させる駆動部と、を備える光走査装置において、
前記保持部は、前記駆動部による振動方向及び該振動方向と直交する方向と他の方向とにおいて異なる保持構造を有する、ことを特徴とするものである。

前記保持部は、前記駆動部による振動方向及び該振動方向と直交する方向に偏らせて前記光ファイバを接着する接着剤を有してもよい。

前記保持部は、前記射出端部が突出する端面に、前記光ファイバが軸周りにおいて4点で接する溝部を有してもよい。
前記駆動部は、圧電アクチュエータとしてもよい。
本発明によれば、複雑な制御を必要とせず、被観察物を簡単な構成で安定して走査することが可能となる。
以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面を参照して説明する。
(第1実施の形態)
図1は、第1実施の形態に係る光走査装置の概略構成を示すブロック図である。図1の光走査装置は、光走査型内視鏡装置10を構成するもので、光走査型内視鏡本体20と、光源部30と、検出部40と、駆動電圧生成部50と、制御部60と、表示部61と、入力部62とを有する。光源部30と光走査型内視鏡本体20との間は、例えばシングルモードファイバからなる照明用光ファイバ11により光学的に結合される。検出部40と光走査型内視鏡本体20との間は、例えばマルチモードファイバからなる検出用光ファイババンドル12により光学的に結合される。なお、光源部30、検出部40、駆動電流生成部50及び制御部60は、同一の筐体内に収納されていても良く、また、別々の筐体に収納されていても良い。
図1は、第1実施の形態に係る光走査装置の概略構成を示すブロック図である。図1の光走査装置は、光走査型内視鏡装置10を構成するもので、光走査型内視鏡本体20と、光源部30と、検出部40と、駆動電圧生成部50と、制御部60と、表示部61と、入力部62とを有する。光源部30と光走査型内視鏡本体20との間は、例えばシングルモードファイバからなる照明用光ファイバ11により光学的に結合される。検出部40と光走査型内視鏡本体20との間は、例えばマルチモードファイバからなる検出用光ファイババンドル12により光学的に結合される。なお、光源部30、検出部40、駆動電流生成部50及び制御部60は、同一の筐体内に収納されていても良く、また、別々の筐体に収納されていても良い。
光源部30は、例えば赤、緑及び青の三原色のCW(連続発振)レーザ光を射出する3つのレーザ光源からの光を合波して白色光として出射する。レーザ光源としては、例えばDPSSレーザ(半導体励起固体レーザ)やレーザダイオードを使用することができる。もちろん、光源部30の構成はこれに限られず、1つのレーザ光源を用いるものであっても、他の複数の光源を用いるものであっても良い。
光走査型内視鏡本体20は、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部を走査部21により振動させながら、光源部30から照明用光ファイバ11を経て射出される光を被観察物100に照射して被観察物100を二次元走査(本実施の形態ではスパイラル走査)し、その走査により得られた信号光を集光して、検出用光ファイババンドル12を経て検出部40に伝送する。ここで、駆動電圧生成部50は、制御部60からの制御に基づいて走査部21に対して配線ケーブル13を介して所要の振動電圧を給電する。
検出部40は、検出用光ファイババンドル12により伝送された信号光をスペクトル成分に分離して、分離した信号光を電気信号に光電変換する。制御部60は、光源部30、検出部40及び駆動電圧生成部50を同期制御するとともに、検出部40により出力された電気信号を処理して、表示部61に画像を表示する。また、制御部60は、入力部62からの入力操作による入力信号に基づいて、走査速度や表示画像の明るさ等、種々の設定を行う。
図2は、光走査型内視鏡本体20を概略的に示す概観図である。光走査型内視鏡本体20は、操作部22及び可撓性の挿入部23を備える。光源部30に結合される照明用光ファイバ11、検出部40に結合される検出用光ファイババンドル12、及び、駆動電圧生成部50に接続される配線ケーブル13は、それぞれ挿入部23の内部を通して先端部24(図2に破線で示す部分)まで導かれている。先端部24は、操作部22により湾曲操作される。
図3は、図2の光走査型内視鏡本体20の先端部24の概略構成を示す図である。図4(a)は図3の走査部21の拡大図であり、図4(b)は図4(a)の右側面図である。先端部24には、走査部21、投影用レンズ25a、25b及び図示しない検出用レンズ(図示せず)が設けられているとともに、照明用光ファイバ11及び検出用光ファイババンドル12が延在している。
走査部21は、取付環26により挿入部23の内部に固定された角柱状のファイバ保持部29を備える。照明用光ファイバ11は、ファイバ保持部29の中央を貫通して、射出端部11aが揺動可能にファイバ保持部29に支持される。ファイバ保持部29の4つの側面は、ファイバ保持部29に保持される照明用光ファイバ11の軸方向(Z方向)と直交するX方向(第1の方向)及びY方向(第2の方向)に面している。
ファイバ保持部29のY方向に面する側面には、射出端部11aをX方向に振動させるX方向駆動用の一対の圧電素子28a、28cが固定される。また、ファイバ保持部29のY方向に面する側面には、射出端部11aをY方向に振動させるY方向駆動用の一対の圧電素子28b、28dが固定される。圧電素子28a~28dは、配線ケーブル13を介して駆動電圧生成部50に接続される。つまり、射出端部11aは、圧電素子28a~28dを有する圧電アクチュエータからなる駆動部によって、X方向及びY方向に振動駆動される。一方、検出用光ファイババンドル12は、先端部24の外周部を通るように配置されている。
投影用レンズ25a、25b及び検出用レンズは、先端部24の先端面近傍に配置される。投影用レンズ25a、25bは、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端面11bから射出されたレーザ光が、被観察物100上にほぼ集光するように構成されている。また、検出用レンズは、被観察物100上に集光されたレーザ光が、被観察物100により反射、散乱、屈折等をした光(被観察物100と相互作用した光)又は蛍光等を検出光として取り込み、検出用レンズの後に配置された検出用光ファイババンドル12に集光、結合させるように配置される。なお、投影用レンズは、2枚構成に限られず、1枚や他の複数枚のレンズにより構成されても良い。
本実施の形態において、照明用光ファイバ11は、図4(a)、(b)に示すように、射出端部11aが位置するファイバ保持部29の端面29aにおいて、さらに接着剤70により接着される。接着剤70は、射出端部11aの振動方向であるX方向及びY方向に偏らせて、射出端部11aをファイバ保持部29に接着するように設けられる。つまり、ファイバ保持部29に対する照明用光ファイバ11の保持構造が、照明用光ファイバ11の軸周りにおいて、振動方向及び振動方向と直交する方向と、その他の方向とにおいて異なっており、照明用光ファイバ11が軸周りに不均一な保持力でファイバ保持部29に保持されている。
本実施の形態では、ファイバ保持部29による照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aの保持力が、図4(b)において、照明用光ファイバ11の光軸Oから+X方向を0°とするとき、光軸Oの周りにおいて、図5に示すように不均一に分布している。すなわち、振動方向であるX方向(0°、180°)及びY方向(90°、270°)において、保持力が実質的に等しい大きさのピーク値となるように不均一に分布している。また、X方向及びY方向における射出端部11aの共振周波数は、同一又はほぼ同一で、実質的に等しくなっている。
以上の構成において、光走査型内視鏡装置10による観察を行う際には、制御部60の制御のもとで、駆動電圧生成部50から配線ケーブル13を介して走査部21の圧電素子28a~28dに振動電圧が印加される。ここで、X方向駆動用の圧電素子28a,28cには、射出端部11aのX方向の共振周波数とほぼ等しい駆動周波数で振幅が徐々に増加する振動電圧が印加される。また、Y方向駆動用の圧電素子28b,28dには、X方向の振動電圧と同じで位相が90°異なる振動電圧が印加される。これにより、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端面11bは、スパイラル状に偏向される。
制御部60は、駆動電圧生成部50による圧電素子28a~28dへの電圧の印加とともに光源部30を駆動する。これにより、光源部30から射出されたレーザ光は、照明用光ファイバ11を経て射出端面11bから被観察物100に照射されて、被観察物100がスパイラス走査される。
被観察物100へのレーザ光の照射により得られる反射光、散乱光または被観察物100から発生する光は、検出光として検出用レンズにより集光され検出用光ファイババンドル12の入射端面12aに入射される。この検出光は、検出用光ファイババンドル12により検出部40に導かれて、検出部40内で波長成分ごとに検出される。
制御部60は、駆動電圧生成部50から圧電素子28a~28dに印加される振動電圧の振幅から走査経路上の走査位置の情報を算出するとともに、検出部40から出力された電気信号から、当該走査位置における被観察物100の画素データを得る。制御部60は、走査位置と画素データの情報を順次記憶部(図示せず)に記憶し、走査終了後または走査中に補間処理等の必要な処理を行って被観察物100の画像を生成し、表示部61に表示する。
ここで、ファイバ保持部29による照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aの保持力は、接着剤70により照明用光ファイバ11の軸周りにおいて、図5に示したように不均一となっており、振動方向であるX方向及びY方向においてピークとなる。したがって、本実施の形態によれば、射出端部11aをX方向に振動させた際に、射出端部11aは軸周りに振れ難くなる。同様に、射出端部11aをY方向に振動させた際に、射出端部11aはZ軸周りに振れ難くなる。これにより、射出端部11aは、正確にスパイラル状に偏向されるので、複雑な制御を要することなく、被観察物100を簡単な構成で安定してスパイラル走査することができる。
(第2実施の形態)
図6は、第2実施の形態に係る光走査装置の要部の概略構成を示す図である。本実施の形態は、第1実施の形態の光走査型内視鏡装置10の走査部21において、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aを揺動可能に保持するファイバ保持部29が、照明用光ファイバ11を挟みこむように保持する一対のVブロック71a、71bからなる。
図6は、第2実施の形態に係る光走査装置の要部の概略構成を示す図である。本実施の形態は、第1実施の形態の光走査型内視鏡装置10の走査部21において、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aを揺動可能に保持するファイバ保持部29が、照明用光ファイバ11を挟みこむように保持する一対のVブロック71a、71bからなる。
かかる構成によると、照明用光ファイバ11は、軸周りにおいてVブロック71a、71bと4点で接して保持されるので、Vブロック71a、71bによる保持力が軸周りにおいて不均一となる。つまり、照明用光ファイバ11の保持構造が、照明用光ファイバ11の軸周りにおいて、振動方向及び振動方向と直交する方向と、その他の方向とにおいて異なっている。したがって、照明用光ファイバ11がVブロック71a、71bと接するX方向及びY方向を振動駆動方向とすることにより、共振周波数もほぼ同じにできるので、第1実施の形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。なお、圧電アクチュエータを構成する圧電素子は、Vブロック71a、71bへの取り付け面を適宜平面加工して取り付ければよい。
(第3実施の形態)
図7は、第3実施の形態に係る光走査装置の要部の概略構成を示す図である。本実施の形態は、第1実施の形態の光走査型内視鏡装置10の走査部21において、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aを揺動可能に保持するファイバ保持部29の端面29aに、照明用光ファイバ11が軸周りにおいて4点で接するように溝部29c、29dを形成したものである。なお、図7(a)は、ファイバ保持部29の拡大図を示し、図7(b)は図7(a)の右側面図を示す。
図7は、第3実施の形態に係る光走査装置の要部の概略構成を示す図である。本実施の形態は、第1実施の形態の光走査型内視鏡装置10の走査部21において、照明用光ファイバ11の射出端部11aを揺動可能に保持するファイバ保持部29の端面29aに、照明用光ファイバ11が軸周りにおいて4点で接するように溝部29c、29dを形成したものである。なお、図7(a)は、ファイバ保持部29の拡大図を示し、図7(b)は図7(a)の右側面図を示す。
かかる構成によると、照明用光ファイバ11は、ファイバ保持部29の端面29aにおいて、溝部29c及び29dが交差する軸周りの4点で接しているので、ファイバ保持部29による保持力が軸周りにおいて不均一となる。つまり、照明用光ファイバ11の保持構造が、照明用光ファイバ11の軸周りにおいて、振動方向及び振動方向と直交する方向と、その他の方向とにおいて異なっている。したがって、照明用光ファイバ11が端面29aと接するX方向及びY方向を振動駆動方向とすることにより、共振周波数もほぼ同じにできるので、第1実施の形態と同様の効果を得ることができる。
なお、本発明は、上記実施の形態に限定されるものではなく、幾多の変形又は変更が可能である。例えば、上記実施の形態では、X方向及びY方向の直交する振動方向においてファイバ保持部29による照明用光ファイバ11の保持力が大きくなるようにしたが、例えば上記各実施の形態においてX方向及びY方向を、X-Y平面内で45°回転させた保持力が小さくなる方向を振動方向としてもよい。また、ファイバ保持部29は、角柱状に限らず、円柱状としてもよい。
また、照明用光ファイバ11による被観察物100の走査は、スパイラル走査に限らず、ラスタ走査やリサージュ走査としてもよい。この場合も、振動方向と直交する方向への不所望な振動成分の発生を防止できるので、被観察物を安定して走査することができる。なお、ラスタ走査の場合は、例えばX方向における共振周波数をY方向における共振周波数よりも高くして、それぞれの共振周波数に対応する駆動周波数で振動させることができる。
さらに、射出端部11aを振動させる駆動部は、圧電アクチュエータに限らず、コイル及び磁石を有する電磁アクチュエータとしてもよい。また、本発明は光走査型内視鏡装置に限らず、顕微鏡等他の光走査装置にも有効に適用することができる。

Claims (5)
- 光ファイバと、該光ファイバの射出端部を振動可能に保持する保持部と、前記射出端部を振動させる駆動部と、を備える光走査装置において、
前記保持部は、前記駆動部による振動方向及び該振動方向と直交する方向と他の方向とにおいて異なる保持構造を有する、ことを特徴とする光走査装置。 - 前記保持部は、前記駆動部による振動方向及び該振動方向と直交する方向に偏らせて前記光ファイバを接着する接着剤を有する、請求項1に記載の光走査装置。
- 前記保持部は、前記光ファイバを挟みこむように保持する一対のVブロックを有する、請求項1又は2に記載の光走査装置。
- 前記保持部は、前記射出端部が突出する端面に、前記光ファイバが軸周りにおいて4点で接する溝部を有する、請求項1~3のいずれかに記載の光走査装置。
- 前記駆動部は、圧電アクチュエータからなる、請求項1~4のいずれかに記載の光走査装置。
