Abstract

The invention relates to a drivetrain with a hydrodynamic retarder (13) and an electric machine (14), wherein the retarder has a driven primary wheel (13.1) and a secondary wheel (13.2), which is static or driven oppositely to the primary wheel, and the primary wheel and the secondary wheel are situated opposite one another in the axial direction such that a working chamber is formed, which can be or is filled with a working medium in order to transmit torque from the primary wheel to the secondary wheel; and the electric machine has a driven rotor (14.1) and a stator (14.2) which interact electromagnetically with one another in order, in a first state, to produce drive power from electrical energy and, in a second state, to produce electrical energy from drive power. The invention is distinguished by the fact that the rotor and the stator of the electric machine and the primary wheel or the secondary wheel of the retarder encompass one another in the radial direction in a common plane perpendicular to the axial direction.
