Système de freinage pour vélo comprenant deux étriers (2) équipés chacun d'un patin (4) et d'un manchon (5) de montage sur un tasseau (3) solidaire du cadre du vélo pour être disposés de part et d'autre d'une roue (1 ) avec les patins (4) en regard de respectivement un côté de la jante de ladite roue, lesdits manchons étant agencés pour permettre le déplacement en rotation axiale des étriers (2) sur le tasseau (3) suivant une course de freinage définie entre une position écartée et une position rapprochée, chacun desdits étriers étant équipé d'un ressort (1 1 ) de contrainte dudit étrier en position écartée, ledit système étant caractérisé en ce que l'un des étriers (2) est muni d'un ensemble d'ajustement de sa course de freinage comprenant un organe mobile (14) monté en rotation axiale sur l'un parmi le manchon (5) et le tasseau (3) par l'intermédiaire d'un dispositif de contrainte de ladite rotation, ledit dispositif étant agencé pour exercer un effort d'immobilisation de l'organe mobile (14) qui est supérieur à l'effort exercé par le ressort (1 1 ) équipant ledit étrier, ledit ensemble comprenant en outre un organe fixe (18) destiné à être solidarisé à l'autre parmi le tasseau (3) et le manchon (5), un organe (14, 18) présentant un doigt (19) et l'autre organe (18, 14) formant deux butées (20a, 20b) pour définir une course de déplacement angulaire relative desdits organes, une première butée (20b) définissant la position écartée dudit étrier lorsque le doigt (18) est en appui sur elle, la deuxième butée (20a) servant à déplacer l'organe mobile (14) en exerçant sur l'étrier (2) un effort supérieur à l'effort d'immobilisation dudit organe mobile, l'effort du ressort (1 1 ) équipant l'étrier (2) muni de l'ensemble d'ajustement étant supérieur à l'effort du ressort (1 1 ) équipant l'autre étrier (2). 1.
