Les compositions pharmaceutiques comprennent une quantité efficace de composés de formule I, de formule II, de formule III ou de formule IV et des procédés pour le traitement de maladies auto-immunes et métaboliques chroniques peuvent être formulées pour une administration orale, buccale, rectale, topique, transdermique, transmucosale, intraveineuse, parentérale, un sirop ou une injection. De telles compositions peuvent être utilisées pour le traitement de maladies neurodégénératives, de maladies métaboliques, de maladies rénales chroniques et de maladies auto-immunes.
