Such a cycle is shared with the UE 100, and the UE 100 determines the reference signal pattern at a timing corresponding to the cycle in which the eNB 200 determines the change of the reference signal pattern. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the UE 100 from performing useless correlation calculation.
- FIG. 13 is an operation flowchart showing details of the reference signal pattern determination process by the UE 100, that is, step S20 of FIG.
- the memory 150 stores reference signal patterns A and B in advance as standard signals. Further, when the eNB 200 changes the reference signal pattern at a predetermined timing, the processor 160 executes this operation flow in accordance with the predetermined timing.
- step S21 the processor 160 determines the correlation value A between the radio signal received by the radio transceiver 110 from the eNB 200 (hereinafter “received signal”) and each of the reference signal patterns A and B. And B are calculated.
- the received signal for obtaining the correlation is preferably a signal after channel estimation and equalization assuming that the received signal is not a received prime value but a sequence of reference signal patterns A and B.
- the channel estimation is a process for obtaining channel characteristics in which the influence of noise or the like is minimized by averaging or filtering the channel estimation value in the RE unit in the frequency axis direction or the time axis direction.
- the channel equalization is a process for restoring the influence of the channel by multiplying the inverse characteristic of the channel characteristic obtained above.
- the correlation value A can be calculated by the following equation (1) when the reference signal corresponding to the reference signal pattern A is “Ai” and the received signal is “Rxi”.
- i is the index of the reference RE
- N is the number of REs used for correlation processing.
- both Ai and Rxi are equations assuming that the signal power (amplitude) is normalized to 1. Note that the REs used for obtaining the correlation may be bundled in any way in the time axis direction or the frequency axis direction. Alternatively, if the determination is made in units of subframes, all may be made into one group within the subframe.
- Correlation value B can be calculated by the following equation (2) by modifying the above equation (1) with the reference signal corresponding to the reference signal pattern B as “Bi”.
- step S22 the processor 160 compares the correlation values A and B calculated in step S21, and determines the reference signal pattern corresponding to the higher correlation value as the reference signal pattern applied to the received signal.
- the processor 160 performs channel estimation and the like based on the discriminated reference signal pattern in the reception processing such as PDCCH and PDSCH.
- the reference signal pattern may be determined only when the difference between the correlation values A and B (absolute value of difference
- the processor 160 may perform the current determination of the reference signal pattern after increasing the priority of the previously determined reference signal pattern when it can be determined that the channel characteristic variation is small. This is because when the variation in channel characteristics is small, there is a high possibility that the previously determined reference signal pattern is maintained.
- 14 and 15 are diagrams for explaining a specific example of the reference signal pattern determination.
- the processor 160 determines the reference signal pattern when the reference signal pattern applied to the received signal is the reference signal pattern A.
- the processor 160 calculates a correlation value A between the received signal Rxi and the reference signal Ai corresponding to the reference signal pattern A by the above equation (1).
- the processor 160 calculates a correlation value B between the received signal Rxi and the reference signal Bi corresponding to the reference signal pattern B by the above equation (2).
- the processor 160 determines that the reference signal pattern applied to the received signal is the reference signal pattern A.
- FIG. 16 is an operation flowchart showing details of the reference signal pattern changing process by the eNB 200, that is, step S60 of FIG.
- the processor 240 calculates the statistics of the communication quality information acquired for all of the UE 100-1 to UE 100-n.
- the communication quality information is, for example, at least one of throughput for each UE 100, CQI for each UE 100, movement speed for each UE 100, and delay dispersion range for each UE 100.
- the statistic is, for example, the average of communication quality information, the worst value of communication quality information, or the CDF of communication quality information.
- the processor 240 may exclude, from the UE 100-1 to UE 100-n, the UE 100 whose degree of change in the corresponding communication quality information is larger than the threshold from the statistics calculation target. Thereby, a statistic can be calculated appropriately. For example, the statistic is calculated only for the UE 100 with small time dispersion such as throughput.
- the processor 240 excludes the UE 100-1 to the UE 100-n from which the data amount corresponding to the application to be executed is smaller than the threshold, from the statistical amount calculation target. This is because there is no need to improve throughput for the UE 100 that transmits and receives a small amount of data.
- step S62 the processor 240 compares the statistic calculated in step S61 with a threshold value.
- step S63 the processor 240 determines whether or not to change the reference signal pattern according to the comparison result in step S62.
- step S64 the processor 240 changes the reference signal pattern.
- the communication quality information is the throughput for each UE 100
- the statistic can be an average throughput or a CDF.
- FIG. 17 is a diagram showing an example of average throughput as a statistic.
- the processor 240 compares the average throughput at the current time t with a threshold value.
- the threshold value can be set by the following equation (3).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- the average throughput is not limited to the average throughput at the current time t, but may be a weighted average of the previous value and the current value.
- the processor 240 calculates a weighted average so that the weight of the current value becomes large.
- FIG. 18 is a diagram showing an example of a throughput CDF as a statistic.
- FIG. 18 shows the CDF at time a and the CDF at time b.
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- the reference signal pattern A is applied at time a
- the reference signal pattern B is applied at time b.
- FIG. 19 is a diagram showing an example of a throughput CDF as a statistic.
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- the communication quality information is CQI for each UE 100
- the statistic can be an average CQI.
- the CQI is indicated by a numerical value from 0 to 15, for example, and the larger the value, the better the communication environment.
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- the communication quality information is the moving speed for each UE 100
- the statistic can be an average moving speed. It can be considered that the communication environment is more stable as the moving speed is lower.
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- the channel estimation accuracy is more appropriately changed by changing the reference signal density in the time axis direction than by changing the reference signal density in the frequency axis direction. Can be adjusted.
- the communication quality information is the throughput, CQI, or moving speed for each UE 100, and the statistic is the worst value
- the worst value of the moving speed is the highest moving speed.
- the statistic is the worst value, a determination method similar to the average value described above can be applied.
- the delay dispersion range is the time range between the preceding wave and the delayed wave. Specifically, the range from the highest power peak to the power peak within a predetermined range can be set as the delay dispersion range. Or it is good also considering the range with the peak of electric power more than a predetermined level as a delay dispersion
- the worst value of the delay dispersion range is the delay dispersion range in the UE 100 having the widest delay dispersion range.
- 20 and 21 are diagrams showing examples of the worst value of the delay dispersion range as a statistic.
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern A having a high reference signal density in order to improve the communication environment (improve the channel estimation accuracy).
- the processor 240 applies the reference signal pattern B having a low reference signal density in order to improve the throughput.
- channel estimation accuracy can be appropriately adjusted by changing the reference signal density in the frequency axis direction rather than changing the reference signal density in the time axis direction.
- the eNB 200 performs communication with the UE 100-1 to the UE 100-n in a mobile communication system that transmits and receives a radio signal including a downlink reference signal for estimating channel characteristics.
- the eNB 200 includes a processor 240 that changes a reference signal density that is a density of a downlink reference signal applied to communication with the UE 100-1 to the UE 100-n.
- the processor 240 calculates the statistics of the communication quality information acquired for all of the UEs 100-1 to 100-n, and changes the reference signal density based on the statistics.
- the UE 100 performs communication with eNB 200 in a mobile communication system that transmits and receives a radio signal including a downlink reference signal for estimating channel characteristics.
- the UE 100 includes a memory 150 that stores a plurality of reference signal patterns with different downlink reference signal densities, a radio transceiver 110 that receives a radio signal including the downlink reference signal from the eNB 200, a plurality of received radio signals, And a processor 160 that discriminates a reference signal pattern applied to the received radio signal based on a correlation value between the reference signal pattern and the reference signal pattern.
- the UE 100 even if the reference signal pattern (that is, the density of the downlink reference signal) is changed, the UE 100 autonomously determines the changed reference signal pattern. Signaling for notifying can be made unnecessary. Therefore, it is possible to change the density of the downlink reference signal without increasing signaling.
- the reference signal pattern that is, the density of the downlink reference signal
- the present invention can be applied not only to the downlink reference signal but also to a case where the reference signal density in the uplink reference signal (specifically, DMRS) is dynamically changed.
- the eNB 200 has mainly described the case of using one carrier in the downlink. However, when the eNB 200 uses a plurality of carriers in the downlink, the eNB 200 may calculate the statistic for each carrier and change the reference signal density for each carrier.
- the base station type of the eNB 200 is not particularly mentioned, but the eNB 200 may be a small cell base station that configures a small cell (for example, a pico cell or a femto cell) smaller than the macro cell.
- the UE 100-1 to UE 100-n are connected to the small cell.
- the number of UEs that can be accommodated in a small cell is smaller than the number of UEs that can be accommodated in a macro cell. Since the eNB 200 calculates the statistics of the communication quality information acquired for all of the UEs 100-1 to 100-n, when many UEs 100 are connected to the eNB 200, the statistics are leveled. Therefore, when the eNB 200 is a small cell base station, such a problem can be avoided because the number of UEs 100 subject to statistical processing is small.
- the present invention is not limited to the LTE system, and the present invention may be applied to a system other than the LTE system.
- the base station, the processor, the communication control method, and the user terminal according to the present invention are useful in the mobile communication field because the reference signal density can be appropriately controlled.
