Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte, en tout premier lieu, à un procédé pour transférer des données multimédias. Le procédé de l'invention consiste plus particulièrement à transférer les données multimédias audiovisuelles via une voie de transmission de données électroniques au moyen d'un système de transmission entre un dispositif de production et de transfert de données multimédias (MD) et un dispositif de traitement de données d'utilisateur. Les dispositifs susmentionnés sont connectés à distance les uns aux autres. Le système de transmission comprend au moins : - un module de traitement de données tel qu'un microprocesseur (0) et/ou une interface utilisateur (UI) ou similaire; - un module de commande (1) pour commander et utiliser le dispositif MD; et - des moyens de traitement du son et de l'image (2) tels qu'une interface d'entrée/sortie audiovisuelle (2a) et un module de traitement du son et/ou de l'image (2b) ou similaire. Ces éléments ont pour but de transformer les données multimédias audiovisuelles qui sont transférées à partir du dispositif MD, selon besoin, en un format correspondant à la voie de transmission de données qui est utilisée durant la procédure de transfert des données multimédias. Le transfert des données multimédias audiovisuelles, au dispositif de traitement de données d'utilisateur, est exécuté sensiblement en temps réel, à partir d'un ou plusieurs dispositifs MD, comme une télévision, un récepteur numérique, un dispositif de lecture de DVD, par exemple, et/ou similaires. De cette manière : l'utilisateur utilise d'abord un dispositif de traitement de données (UDx) qui est doté d'une fonction de communication audiovisuelle bidirectionnelle; et, de son côté, le système de transmission (X) comprend un module de communication (3) qui permet une connexion externe au dispositif susmentionné. La présente invention se rapporte aussi à un système de transmission fonctionnant selon le procédé de l'invention.
