Description
DESCRIPTION
UNIVERSAL ROLL BOX
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the foldable boxes used for packaging of gaskets.
Prior Art
In the prior art, boxes having different characteristics are used for gasket packaging. Transportation and storage of manufactured gaskets in a healthy manner is provided by means of these boxes.
In the prior art, boxes are primarily attached to the arms of the winding machine and gasket block in the form of a roll is obtained by winding the gasket onto the carton disposed therein (winding roller) . The protection of the gaskets wound as such from the external environment is provided by means of a package referred to as an inner box and an outer box. However, such packaging techniques introduce external material consumption, as well as resulting in problematic transportation processes. The disadvantages of the state of the art are listed below.
·' A. secondary enclosure, i.e. an outer box, is required since the edges of the inner box being wound with the gasket are open. This brings along material consumption .
• Packaging of the gasket with a second outer box and the absence of recesses and protrusions on said box to enable transportation complicate the transportation
process of the gaskets. This causes an increase in the amount of labor.
• Since the inner boxes of the prior art are not provided with any fold lines, in the case the gasket is not sufficiently wound onto the winding roller, gaps are formed on the edges of the inner boxes, which causes the outer packaging material to deform thereby during transportation thereof and the gaskets to be damaged.
As mentioned above, universal roll box is developed since the prior art has some drawbacks. Following are the patents representing the prior art. The European Patent No. EP0635432 (A2) discloses a foldable box, in particular carton. Said box comprises a base, four side walls and a cover consisting of four foldable flaps connected to said walls. In addition, an opening which can be opened by being torn at prefabricated weakening lines is also disposed on said box. Said opening is arranged in a corner region of the lid, wherein when weakening lines are torn, a gap is formed.
The European Patent No. EP0452571 (Al) relates to a collapsible box, wherein it comprises an end wall and side walls connected to a bottom part by means of flaps. The end portions connected laterally via folds to the end walls, in any case, are connected to the outer portion of the side wall by being divided by a diagonal fold and the part connected thereto. End portions fitting inside the diagonal fold and folded into the end wall by being attached through the folds are provided.
The PCT patent application No. WO0007887 (Al) discloses a foldable carton box that can be collapsed from an erected state. Said box is formed of a single carton, wherein said carton is foldable between a folded state and an erected state. In the erected state, the carton comprises a base and four side walls, wherein it generally has a rectangular prismatic shape. The box formed by fitting of the base and side walls into each other is expanded from the fold lines disposed between the base and the side walls.
Object of the Invention
The present invention entitled 'Universal roll box' is realized in order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks and provide solutions to the respective problems of the prior art, wherein the advantages thereof are listed below.
• The box according to the present invention is taped by being folded from the fold lines disposed on the edge portions thereof after the winding process of the gasket to the cylindrical box disposed in the inner portion is completed. The storage function of the inner box is utilized without the need for an external outer packaging .
• Since the winding roller disposed on the inner box comprises a prismatic cylindrical hole, the transportation of the box is carried out thereby and performing said transportation process is facilitated for the operator.
• No gaps exist in the box since the gasket wound around the edges of the box is packaged therefrom and deformation of the box, and thus of the gasket is
prevented during the transportation since a force is applied to the box from inside.
If excessive number of gaskets exceeding the edge portions of the box is wound, transportation process is carried out, without folding the box for allowing it to maintain the original function thereof, either by placing said box into an outer box or by enclosing said box with a circular box being added to the perimeter of the inner box .
Gaskets of desired volume can be wound into the box according to the present invention up to the outermost edges, wherein in case of winding of at least one gasket, a healthy transportation process is carried out even if a gap exists therein thanks to the resistant flap portions and the flanges supported thereby.

Description of the Invention The universal roll box according to the present invention mainly comprises the following: an upper cover (1) and a lower cover (2), flanges (3), flaps (5), eight folding lines (4) enabling said flanges (3) and flaps (5) to be folded and a tape (6) connecting said foldable flaps (5) to each other.
The product according to the present invention comprises the following: an upper cover (1) and a lower cover (2) being symmetrical to each other and connected symmetrically with the winding roller (7); foldable flanges (3) disposed in the corner regions of said covers (1, 2) and gathered only at the same two sides of the box; flaps (5) connected to the edges of said covers (1, 2) through the fold lines (4) and being fittable on said flanges (3) by being folded symmetrically through the fold lines; and a tape (6) enabling safe transportation of the box by interconnecting said flaps (5) .
Formation of the box is as follows.
• The gasket is wound onto the winding roller (7) until reaching the fold lines (4).
• The flanges (3) disposed in the corner regions of the upper cover (1) and lower cover (2) are evenly gathered at the same two sides and folded through the fold lines
(4) so as to be mutually adjacent. Said flanges (3) provide an external strength and sealing by supporting the box from the two edges.
• After the flanges (3) enclose only two edges of the box, the flaps (5) disposed on the edges of the covers (1, 2) are mutually and symmetrically folded from the fold lines
(4) and all four sides of the box are completely enclosed .
• After the flaps (5) are closed, assembly is completed by passing a tape (6) through the joining line of the flaps
(5) and storage of the gasket by the box in a healthy manner is provided.
Open form of the box according to the present invention is given in Figure 1. The gasket is wound into the box in this state. The arms of the machine performing the gasket winding passes through the winding roller (7) disposed in the middle of the box. Winding process of the gasket to the box is realized by rotation of the box together with the roller (7). After the winding process is completed, the box is removed by the operators and sent to the respective unit for packaging.
In Figure 2, the flanges (3) are folded to the same side such that all four flanges (3) are provided on the same side of the box. The flanges (3) provide reinforcement to the protection provided by the flaps (5) by containing the box from the corners. This is the first step of flange (3) folding.
In Figure 3, the flanges (3) completely folded on the two sides of the box are mutually and successively located at the same side. This is the second and last step of the flange (3)
folding. During folding of the flanges (3) , the flaps (5) are folded onto the hollow lateral sides of the box so as to overlap each other.
In Figure 4, the other flaps (5) disposed on the folded portions of the flanges (3) are folded and box folding is completed by attaching a tape (6) onto the flaps (5) along the lateral side of the box.
Industrial Applicability of the Invention
The universal roll box successfully providing a solution to the aforementioned technical problem will be manufactured as in the other boxes and widely used in the respective technical field.
