The invention relates to a package as set out in the preamble of claim 1.

In the transport chain, the packaged goods are transported from the packer to the user, often in sealed box-like packages obtained by folding cardboard or other bendable material from blanks. 10 Such packages are closed on one side by a lid. In this case, it is desirable that the lid remain in place during transport and that the unopenability of the package can be established. To this end, it has been necessary to design the lids of the package in such a way that they adhere well and, on the other hand, to develop various sealing methods indicating unauthorized opening.

A patent is known from U.S. Pat. The thickening causes additional work steps during the preparation of the blank.

The object of the invention is to present a simple solution with which it is possible both to keep the lid in place and to ensure that the lid 30 is not opened. To achieve this object, the package according to the invention is mainly characterized by what is set forth in the characterizing part of claim 1. The packaging part formed by the side walls has 35 recesses extending inwards at the corner corners of the sides at the same point as the recesses of the lid, the lid and the packaging part being locked together by a continuous strip 290225 recessed at the corners. The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 shows the finished package in perspective, Figure 2 shows another conceivable embodiment of the package, Figure 3 shows the cover blank in plan view, and Figure 4 shows the package blank in plan view.

Figure 1 shows a package according to the invention in a perspective view. The packaging principle, to which the present invention is particularly well suited, is set out in the earlier Finnish patent application 904269 of the same inventor and is not discussed in more detail here. The packaging part 1 itself, in the space delimited by which the 90225 products to be transported are placed, is placed vertically on the transport base 2. The packaging part has a rectangular horizontal section and consists of four side walls 1a, Ib, 1e and 1d. Three side walls Ib, le and Id are formed by bending along parallel fold lines from the same blank, and a fourth side wall 1a detached from this blank thus covers the side left open. The lower edges of the walls are placed on the base 2. In addition, the outermost parts of the blank formed by the three walls 10 further have edge flaps 3 which are turned towards each other parallel to the loose wall 1a, whereby the wall can be placed inside the package behind these edge flaps.

A separate lid 4 is placed on the package part 1, which closes the open top side of the package part so that its four edge flaps 5 bent parallel to the side walls of the package, which form the downwardly directed edge of the lid 20, go from outside the upper parts of the walls. This creates four corner points of the cover 4, which are formed by the joints of the side edges of two adjacent edge flaps 5. These corners have openings through the lid material 25 which form the recesses 6, and the corresponding recesses provided in the same way are also at the corners of the side walls of the packaging part, so that these recesses and the recesses 6 of the lid meet. On the edge flaps of the lid, a continuous strip 8 forming a closed loop 30 rotates, which passes through the recesses 6 and at the same time meets the recesses at the corners of the packaging part 1 and thus locks the lid 4 and the packaging part 1 together.

The recesses 6 and the corresponding recesses at the corner points of the packaging part are delimited in the longitudinal direction of the corner lines 11 corresponding to the corner points of the lid and the corner parts of the packaging part, whereby the strip 8 cannot be slid 4 90225 off the edge of the lid 4. Also, the lid 4 with its strips 8 cannot be lifted off the top of the packaging part 1 or the lid 4 cannot be lifted out from under the strip 8 without the side edge of the strip 8 always hitting one of the side edges of such a recess 5 between the bottom edge and the corner line.

The width of the strip and the width of the recesses at the corner points of the package should also be dimensioned so that the lid 10 and the package part are as movable as possible with respect to each other in the direction of the corner lines 11.

In addition, the packaging is also secured by lower strips 9 in the direction of the strip 8, which ensure that the side walls 1a, Ib, le and Id remain essentially in shape.

Figure 4 shows a packaging blank from which the packaging part 1 shown in Figure 1 can be formed. The blank 20 can be made of cardboard or some other suitable bendable and cutable material. The parallel fold lines 10 of the blank, which form the corner points between the three side walls Ib, le and Id and the corner points formed by the short edge flags 3 extending from the extreme side walls ib and Id, have rectangular openings symmetrically above the fold line and the blanks 1 described recesses. The upper and lower edges of the openings then form the edges delimiting the recesses in the upper and lower directions, which have been discussed above. Correspondingly, Fig. 3 shows a blank forming the lid 4, in which the edges of the rectangular central part corresponding to the horizontal section of the packaging part are joined by edge flanges 5, 35, the short side edges of which are at right angles to the fold line between the central part and the edge flap. 5 90225 and the side edges perpendicular to it. To form the small recesses 6a inwards, the folded tabs at the same time reinforce the transverse edge of the recess formed by the recesses 6 and 7 together with the strip 8, through which the strip 8 passes from the top of the edge tab 5 to the recess.

25 Although packages of substantially rectangular cross-section have been described above, the same idea can be applied to any polygonal package having angled sides, the lid having correspondingly angled edge tabs in a corresponding manner.

Figure 2 shows another package within the scope of the invention, in which the lid is not separate, but belongs to the same blank as the packaging part 1, in which all the sides are also formed from the same blank using a folding technique known per se. As can be seen, here too it is possible to form recesses at the corners of the package part and at the corners of the edge flags parallel to the side walls of the package of the lid, and the strip can be placed around the package. The figure shows how the strip passes through only two corner points at the ends of the front edge 5 away from the fold of the lid and the packaging part, whereby a similar locking effect can also be obtained. To ensure locking, recesses 7 can, of course, be provided at the corners of the side walls of the packaging part at the ends of the fold, which possibility is illustrated by a broken line. Thus, as shown in Figure 2, the invention is not only intended for use with packages in which the corners between the edge flanges of the lid are at each corner of the package, but it is sufficient to have a sufficient number of corners formed by the lid flanges through which the strip can pass. Likewise, at some corners of the package, the strip can pass only in a recess 7 at the corner of the side walls of the package part, at which point 20 there is no corresponding recess in the lid.
