Description

Packaging of products the use of which generates dust production
The invention relates to packages of hardware products of the dowel, nail, screw types and other similar products.
Generally, such packages are formed as a thermoformed box being commonly so-called "blister". Such boxes are in part transparent so as to let people see what there is inside. Generally, one of their sides is open, namely the rear side in their presentation position for the buyers in the selling shops, and, on such open side, they comprise a closing film or cover to be released from the rest of the box to have access to the products to be used.
In fact, and as this will appear subseguently, such a closing cover is more remarkable because of its closing or plugging function than its cover guality and that is why it will be more generally designated by plugging element of such packaging boxes.
Indeed, it is perfectly conceivable that such a plugging element is another open box, both boxes applying on each other to make a closed package. Then, more logically these will be two packaging open half-boxes. In the scope of the present invention, such an embodiment presents an extra advantage, as shown subseguently.
Some of these products contained in such packages, as for example dowels, need before use a hole to be drilled in a receiving material intended to receive one of such products . It can be walls made of concrete, cement, wood, plaster, etc. Drilling a hole with a drilling tool, like a drilling machine with a drill, generates dust.
The problem at the origin of the invention of the present application is to collect such dust through the package of the invention in order to avoid that it pollutes the environment and the operator is exempted from a laborious and difficult cleaning.
Indeed, the invention relates to a package of products, the use of which generates a dust production, comprising a box being at least in part transparent open on one side, which is closed by a plugging element, characterized in the fact that the box comprises, on the open side, a peripheral flexible lip for receiving the plugging and sealing element, arranged to be sealingly applied against a receiving material of one of the products of the package, said box comprising, on the side opposite the open side, a sucking tip arranged to receive a vacuum cleaner conduct .
After removing the plugging element and emptying the package from its products, and then applying the box against the receiving material of one of the products, when, through the box side comprising the sucking tip, wherein a sucking conduct has been introduced, the peripheral lip, under the sucking effect, forming a vacuum cup against the receiving material and the box remaining held against the receiving material by suction, a drill of a drilling tool is implemented and a hole is drilled into the receiving material, the hole drilling generates dust which is in part sucked by the vacuum cleaner and in part collected in the box. Preferably, the side of the box opposite the open side comprises a starting well of a drilling tool .
In a first embodiment, the plugging element is thus a cover.
But, in an alternative embodiment, the plugging element can be another open box also comprising a sucking tip and a sealing peripheral flexible lip, both flexible lips of both boxes being arranged to be applied one against the other and then to close the package.
Advantageously, in the closed condition of the package, both sucking tips of both packaging boxes extend in the mutual extension thereof to form a conduct going through the package .
So, for their presentation in gondolas of selling shops, a stem can be passed through their through-conduct to hang up them thereon.
Preferably, the two boxes are articulated each along a hinge-forming tapered portion.
The two boxes can be closed together by clipping or any similar assembling.
They can be still separated from one another and closed again by any means, such as clipping, stapling, etc.
The invention will be better understood upon reading the following description referring to the accompanying drawing, wherein:
- Fig. 1 represents a perspective view of the front side of a first embodiment of the package according to the invention; - Fig. 2 represents a perspective view of the rear side of the package of Fig. 1, without its closing cover and with no product inside;
- Fig. 3 represents a perspective view of the rear side of the package of Fig. 1, filled with its products and the closing cover partly lifted and removed from the box;
- Fig. 4 represents a perspective view of the packaging box of Fig. 1 showing its use as dust collecting means;
- Fig. 5 represents a perspective view of a second embodiment of the package of the invention, on a closed condition;
- Fig. 6 represents a perspective view of the package of Fig. 5 on an open condition and containing a few dowels in one of the two packaging boxes; and
- Fig. 7 represents a perspective view of one of the two packaging boxes of Fig. 5 showing the use of one of the two boxes as dust collecting means.
The packaging of the invention according to Fig. 1 comprises a heat welded transparent box 1, here with a parallelepiped general shape, but with a projecting part 2 also of the parallelepiped type in the bottom and in the front of the box as far as its presentation position in the gondolas on the selling shops is considered. Such projecting part 2 substantially extends on the half-height of the box, which corresponds in the flat to its length.
The projecting part 2 has substantially the same width and the same depth as the rest of the box.
The projecting box part 2, in the presentation position of the package, is thus located at the front of the box. In the rear part, the box is opened. It is bordered by a peripheral flexible lip 3. This lip has several functions. It first serves as a receiving band for a box closing film or cover 4 so that it is closed when it contains its products 5. On Fig. 3, such cover has been in part lifted thanks to a small corner tongue 6. This figure shows the product 5, in fact dowels.
The peripheral lip 3 is also used as a sealing band when the box 1 is applied against a wall 7 intended to receive one of the products 5 initially contained in the box 1. Such lip 3 has the appropriate flexibility to match adequately to the wall 6. Of course, sealing may not be always perfect.
A sucking tip 8 extends towards the box inside, towards its open side, from the front face 9 of the projecting box part 2. Such sucking tip 8 is intended to receive slightly forcibly a sucking conduct 10 of a vacuum cleaner.
On the front side 11 of the box 1, opposite its open side, a starting well 12 has been formed for a drilling tool 13.
The working instructions of the box 1 of the package according to the invention will be now described in the case where it initially contained dowels 5. One of such dowels is intended to be inserted into a previously drilled hole in the material of the wall 7, with the help herein of a drilling machine 13 equipped with a drill 14.
The box 1 is applied on the wall 7 through its sealing lip 3 which matches to its surface on a substantially sealing way or at least partially. The box is applied against the wall so that the starting well 12, to be apparently used as a drilling template, is the best possible at the right angles of the area 15 where the dowel receiving hole is to be drilled. Then, the sucking conduct 10 of the vacuum cleaner is inserted into the sucking tip 8. The vacuum cleaner is then operated, which, by suction, completes the application of the box 1 and its holding against the wall 7, the sealing lip 3 forming a vacuum cup. The drill 14 is then introduced in the starting well 12 and, after starting the tool 13, the front side 11 of the box is drilled until the drill is abutted against the wall 7 and then, the drilling of the dowel reception hole 5 is started. Hole drilling generates dust being in part sucked by the vacuum cleaner and in part collected in the box 1.
A package with only one box of a parallelepiped shape has just been described. Of course, such a box is not limited to such an embodiment. The box could be, for example, guasi hemispherical, even in a semi-cylindrical shape or another shape .
The package of Fig. 5 also containing dowels 40 is distinct from the one of Fig. 1 due to the fact that it comprises two boxes 21, 22 here of an identical type. Each box has a general hemispherical shape being obtained by thermoforming a material being transparent here too. Each hemisphere 23, 24 is bordered by a peripheral flexible lip 25, 26 for package closing and sealing. Both lips 25, 26, being identical, are here connected and articulated to each other by a band 27 extending them, with an overall rectangular shape and which is tapered along a folding medium line 28, thereby dividing the connecting band 27 into two half-bands 29, 30 and around which the two boxes 21, 22 can be folded down one on each other, the band 27 forming thus a hinge, to close the package .
The lips 25, 26 ensure the same closing and sealing functions as the lip 3 of the first embodiment of Fig. 1.
A sucking tip 31, 32 extends towards the inside of each of the boxes 21, 22 in the direction of its open rear side, from the hemispherical front face 23, 24 of the boxes. The tips 31, 32 are intended to receive slightly forcibly a sucking conduct 10 of a vacuum cleaner .
Such tips present this characteristic, in the closing condition of the package, to extend in the mutual extension thereof so as to form a through- conduct 33 in order to hang the package thereon.
A starting well 34, 35 for a drilling tool 13 has been formed on the front faces 23, 24 of both boxes 21, 22.
The working instructions of the package of Fig. 5 are almost the same as those of the package of Fig. 1. After cutting or tearing the connecting band 27 along the folding line 28, each of the two boxes 21, 22 can be used, so separated from one another, exactly as the packaging box of Fig. 1.
The box 21 is for example applied on the wall 7 through its sealing lip 25 so that the starting well 34 is positioned at right angles of the area where the dowel receiving hole must be drilled, since it is still the problem in guestion. Then, the sucking conduct 10 is inserted into the sucking tip 31. The vacuum cleaner is operated. Then the drill 14 of the tool 13 is introduced into the starting well 34, the tool is started, the wall 23 of the box is drilled, if the well 34 is not a through one, and the drill 14 is abutted against the wall 7 to start hole drilling. Thanks to the vacuum cup effect of the lip 25, the dust produced by the hole drilling is in part sucked and in part collected in the box 21.
