Abstract
The present invention refers to a pack for cigarettes (1) which presents an articulable top cover (8) bearing a differentiated closing system (13, 14, 15) which allows the perfect closing of the packing, even when it is made of substantially soft and low grammage material, such as the soft cup type pack.
Description
"CIGARETTE PACK"
Field of Invention
The present invention refers to a cigarette pack with an articulable top including an improved closing system, which allows the adequate closing of the pack, even if made of a soft material.
Problem of the state of the art
The tobacco industry traditionally markets cigarettes in two kinds of packs, known as soft-cup and Box. The soft-cup type pack is usually made with a low grammage paper and the Box type pack is made with heavier grammage paper.
Due to the heavier grammage, the Box type pack allows the use of an articulable top, which is why they are usually referred to as fliptop.
The soft-cup type pack does not usually have the articulable top, since the low grammage of the pack paper makes the movement and closing of the cover difficult, specially due to the constant handling of the pack by the user. The low resistance of the structure of the pack causes it to become deformed by the user, making it difficult to perform the closing and movement of the top of the pack.
The pack in this invention presents an articulable top bearing a differentiated closing system that can be used in any kind of cigarette pack, including those made of low grammage paper, that is, presenting low resistance to deforming, due to continuous handling by the user.
Therefore, the present invention allows the use of an articulable top even on soft-cup type packs.
Summary of invention The present invention refers to a cigarette package that presents a top containing a differentiated closing system, which allows the adequate closing of the package, even if made of a substantially soft material, of low grammage, such as the soft-cup type pack.
The top is joined to the back of the pack, it being articulable around an axle formed by the intersection of the edge of the top with the top edge of the back of the pack. The top of the pack has an opening where a tab that is part of the front of the pack can fit in.
Brief description of the figures
Figure 1 represents a view of the pack unfolded.
Figure 2 represents a front view of the pack folded, with the top open.
Figure 3 represents a back view of the pack folded, with the top open.
Figure 4 represents a front view of a first configuration of the closing of the pack.
Figure 5 represents a front view of a second configuration of the closing of the pack.
Figure 6 represents a front view of a third configuration of the closing of the pack.
Detailed description of the invention
The present invention refers to a pack for cigarettes 1, which comprises a front wall 2; a back wall 3; two side walls 4 and 5 which are joined to the edges of the front and back walls; one fixation wall 5' joined to the side wall 5; one bottom part and one top part.
The bottom part comprises bottom walls 6 and 7 joined to the front 2 and back 3 walls, respectively, and bottom side flaps 11 and 12 joined to the side walls 4 and 5 which increase the bottom sealing of the pack, and the bottom walls are joined, one over the other.
The top part comprises a cover 8 joined to the top edge of the back wall 3 and the top side flaps 9 and 10 joined to the side walls 4 and 5 which increase the top sealing of the packing.
The bottom walls 6 and 7 are preferably glued one over the other and the fixation wall 5' is preferably glued over the 2" inside face of the front wall 2.
The cover 8 is articulable around the axle α formed by the intersection between the top edge of the back wall 3 and the edge of the cover 8, and the cover presents a tab 13 and an opening 14 capable of receiving the closing tab 15, which is an extension of the front wall 2.
In one embodiment of the present invention, the front wall 2 presents a cutting 16 so that, in this case, the closing tab 15 is articulable around its base 17. Such cut facilitates the articulation of the closing tab 15, as well as the fitting of the tab 13 over the 2" inside face of the front wall 2. Also, the cutting 16 allows enhanced access by the user's fingers to the filter of the cigarette, facilitating the picking up of the cigarette stored inside the pack.
Alternatively, the aluminum lining which usually wraps the cigarettes in the soft-cup type pack, in this invention may leave out the cigarette filters, since the lining would block and/or make it difficult for the user's fingers to access the cigarettes.
Alternatively, the closing tab 15 may present a perforated or cut area on its sides, allowing the user to detach the tab, and turning it articulated around its base 17.
Alternatively, the cover 8 may show a perforated or cut line along the axle of the intersection α between the cover and the top edge of the back wall 3 so as to allow the removal of the cover 8 by the user.
Figures 4, 5 and 6 illustrate three different configurations for the closing of the packing in accordance with this invention.
In figure 4, when cover 8 is in a closed position, the tab 13 is positioned over the 2" inside face of the front wall 2, and the closing tab 15 fits in slot 14.
In figure 5, when the cover 8 is in a closed position the tab 13 is positioned over the V outside face of the front wall 2, and the closing tab 15 fits in the slot 14.
In figure 6, the closing tab 15 is positioned under the cover 8 and the tab 13 is positioned over the 2' outside face of the front wall 2 and over the closing tab 15. This configuration is preferably used in the marketing of the final product, since the pack may be wrapped in a plastic film.
Although the invention has been described based on a specific concretization, experts on the subject, keeping the idea and the range of the basic invention idea, may introduce modification.
