Description
THE SPECIAL PURPOSE LOCKING DEVICE The invention relates to locking devices, especially to special purpose locks.
The established technical solution - protective lock designed for fuel tank locking described in LT patent No. 5728, Int. cl.: B 65 D 90/00, published on May 25, 2011. The lock consists of ring and hinge to which a plate contacting with the ring through connecting element is fastened. The ring and plate are interconnected with the help of shutter. Clamping plate has a protective coating from the inside.
The established technical solution not only does not ensure secure fuel tank locking, but also does not ensure adequate operation conditions. In order to fasten protective lock ring pulled over the neck of fuel tank filler opening it is required to screw four screws into ring thread holes, but these screws may easily unscrew because of transport vibration. Moreover, this type of screwing may lead to damage of the fuel tank neck. The next disadvantage of the established technical solution consists in the possibility to unlock other protective locks using special screwdriver. Tight coupling applied in the established structure limits functional capabilities and reduces operation conditions of locking.
The purpose of the invention is to improve reliability, stability and operation conditions of the locking device.
To compass the purpose of the invention the special purpose locking device consists of two locking D-rings with externally bent ends; one pair of the ends is joined with the help of double hinge pivot with pulled over double hinge puller forming loose coupling and detachable retention screw, another pair is joined by fixed welding of connecting element with an internally threaded hole to their ends. Additionally, a cross rail is loosely put on double
hinge puller rivet - pivot. The cross rail is joined with special locking cylinder-shaped socket where coupling - locking screw is inserted in order to twist it into the hole of the connecting element using special screwdriver. Head slots of coupling - locking screw match the tip of the special screwdriver. Head of detachable retention screw is self-detachable. The cap for special locking cylinder-shaped socket is loosely attached on the rivet - pivot of the cross rail. The cross rail of the lock may be both plain or take the form of fuel tank cap configuration.
The invention is illustrated in drawings.
Fig. 1 - side view of the special purpose locking device.
Fig. 2 - bottom view of the special purpose locking device.
The special purpose locking device is designed to lock transport fuel tanks and consists of bottom part pulled over the neck of the fuel tank and a top locking part. The bottom part of the locking device consists of two locking D-rings 1 , 2 with interconnected externally bent ends 3, 4. Ends 3 of locking D-rings 1 , 2 are joined by fixed welding of connecting element 5 with an internally threaded hole 6. Other ends 4 of locking D-rings 1, 2 are joined with the help of double hinge pivot 7. Double hinge puller 8 able to perform vibrational-rotational motions is put on the double hinge pivot 7 forming loose connection. Additionally, detachable retention screw 9 is twisted into ends 4 of locking D-rings 1 , 2. The top locking part of the locking device consists of cross rail 10 with one end loosely put on the rivet - pivot 11 of the double hinge puller 8 allowing not only vibrational-rotational motions, but also rotational motion, and another end is coupled with special locking cylinder-shaped socket 12. Additionally, the Cross rail 10 of the lock may be both plain or take the form of fuel tank cap configuration. The special locking cylinder-shaped socket 12 is designed for twisting coupling - locking screw 13 with head slots into the threaded hole 6 of connecting element 5 with the
help of special screwdriver (not illustrated). Head slots of the coupling - locking screw 13 must match the tip of the special screwdriver. The cap 14 for special locking cylinder-shaped socket 12 is loosely attached on the rivet - pivot 15 of the cross rail 10.
Operation of the special purpose locking device.
The bottom part of the locking device is pulled over the neck of transport fuel tank closed with a cap by bending off and turning the cross rail 10 of the lock. When the device clamps the neck with locking D-rings 1 , 2 detachable retention screw 9 is twisted in. Head of the retention screw 9 is self-detached after complete twisting in. As a result, complete, reliable and stable fixation of the position of locking D-rings 1 , 2 on the fuel tank neck with a cap is achieved. Then the coupling - locking screw 13 is inserted into the special locking cylinder-shaped socket 12 and twisted in the threaded hole 6 of the connecting element 5 using special screwdriver. Thus, after the fuel tank cap is locked, the special locking cylinder-shaped socket 12 is covered with cap 14 by screwing it around the rivet - pivot 15.
The structure provided in the claimed technical solution is reliable and ensuring reliable and stable lock of the fuel tank. Easy, handy and universal operation of the lock is suitable for any type of fuel tanks. Loose coupling of lock cross rail 10 with double hinge puller rivet - pivot as well as loose coupling with double hinge pivot enable rotation and bending of lock cross rail in any direction ensuring convenient operation of the device independent of fuel tank filler opening position. Additionally, tight fixation of the position of D-rings on the neck of the fuel tank with the help of detachable retention screw as well as fixation amortization preventing the detachable retention screw from unscrewing because of vibrations particularly influence the reliability and stability of locking and eliminate unscrewing or scrolling of the fuel tank cap.
