まず、図1を参照しながら、マンセル色票の構成例について述べ、さらに、透明プレートを利用した回転式色見本帳について紹介する。なお、本稿ではマンセル表色系(HSV色空間)の場合を例に挙げて説明するが、RGB表色系、XYZ表色系、xyY表色系、L*u*v*表色系、L*a*b*表色系など、様々な表色系の色空間に対しても本稿で説明する技術を適用することが可能である。
以下、本技術の第1実施形態について説明する。本実施形態は、色平面を表示する表示デバイス(色表示部102)を1枚設けた表示装置100の構成に関する。
本実施形態に係る表示装置100の基本構成について説明する。
図2に示すように、本実施形態に係る表示装置100は、基底部101、及び、回転軸Pを基準に回転可能な状態で基底部101に接続された色表示部102を有する。色表示部102は、マンセル色票などの色平面を表示可能な表示デバイスである。色表示部102としては、例えば、液晶ディスプレイや有機電界発光ディスプレイなどの薄型ディスプレイを利用することができる。また、色表示部102の形態としては、例えば、有機薄膜トランジスタで構成されるフレキシブルディスプレイなどが適用可能である。
図5を参照しながら、基本構成を有する表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図5に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。なお、色平面計算部104は、透明度を表すアルファ値を考慮して色平面を表示してもよい。
次に、図6を参照しながら、基本構成を有する表示装置100の動作について説明する。図6に示すように、まず、表示装置100は、角度検知部103の機能により、色表示部102の変位を検出する(S101)。次いで、表示装置100は、角度検知部103の機能により、基準位置(基準方向S)からの色表示部102の回転角度を取得する(S102)。次いで、表示装置100は、色平面計算部104の機能により、ステップS102で取得した回転角度に対応する色相を選択する(S103)。次いで、表示装置100は、色平面計算部104の機能により、選択した色相に対応する色平面を決定する(S104)。次いで、表示装置100は、色平面計算部104の機能により、ステップS104で決定した色平面で色表示部102の表示内容を更新し(S105)、一連の動作を終了する。なお、色表示部102の変位が検出される度に、ステップS101~S105の動作が実行される。
上記の説明においては、色表示部102の変位をユーザが手作業で行うことを想定していたが、色表示部102を自動的に駆動する機能を表示装置100に追加してもよい。この場合(変形例1)、表示装置100の機能構成は、図7のように変形される。変形例1において、表示装置100は、図7に示すように、基底部101、色表示部102、角度検知部103、色平面計算部104、駆動部111により構成される。この場合、色表示部102は、駆動部111を介して基底部101に接続される。そして、駆動部111は、モータなどの駆動機構を利用して色表示部102を回転駆動する。
ここで、色表示部102の形態について1つの変形例(変形例2)を紹介する。これまで色表示部102が表示装置100に接続されたディスプレイデバイスであることを想定して説明を進めてきた。しかし、図9に示すように、情報端末を色表示部102として利用するように構成されていてもよい。この場合、色表示部102として利用される情報端末は、基底部101との間で着脱可能な構造を介して機械的に接続される。また、この情報端末は、表示装置100を構成する色平面計算部104などの構成要素と電気的に接続されているか、或いは、無線通信などの機能を利用して通信可能な構成を有する。なお、回転時の安定性を考慮し、情報端末を縦方向に貫く中心軸を基準に回転可能な構成とされていることが好ましい。また、図9の例では、情報端末を例に挙げて説明しているが、ゲーム機、携帯電話、カーナビゲーションシステムなどの電子機器で代用することも可能である。
次に、入力機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成について説明する。この表示装置100は、色を指定するための入力装置として機能する。
図10を参照しながら、入力構成を搭載した表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図10に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、タッチパネル121とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。また、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面の領域がタッチされると、タッチされた領域の色が選択される。なお、タッチパネル121がタッチされたタイミングで色表示部102の回転動作がロックされるように構成されていてもよい。
また、入力機能を搭載した表示装置100による色平面の表示動作は、図6に示した基本動作と実質的に同じであるため、ここでは詳細な説明を省略する。
ここで、図11~図16を参照しながら、色指定時における表示装置100の動作について説明する。なお、以下に示す主な処理は、タッチパネル121及び色表示部102の機能により実現される。
まず、色情報の表示に関する動作について説明する。図11に示すように、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面がタッチされると、表示装置100は、色平面のタッチを検出する(S121)。次いで、表示装置100は、タッチされた領域の色を検出する(S122)。次いで、表示装置100は、ステップS122で検出した色の色情報を取得する(S123)。このとき、表示装置100は、筐体の内部又は外部に接続された記録装置に記録された色情報の中から、検出した色の色情報を取得する。次いで、表示装置100は、図12に示すように、ステップS123で取得した色情報を色表示部102に表示し(S124)、色情報の表示に係る一連の処理を終了する。図12の例では、色のコードを表す色情報CWが色表示部102に表示されている。
次に、色指定時の表示動作について説明する。図13に示すように、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面がタッチされると、表示装置100は、色平面へのタッチを検出する(S131)。次いで、表示装置100は、タッチされた領域の色を検出する(S132)。次いで、表示装置100は、図14に示すように、ステップS132で検出した色以外の色を消去し(S133)、色指定時の表示動作に関する一連の処理を終了する。なお、タッチパネル121から指が離れたタイミングで、ステップS133で消去した指定色以外の色が再表示されるように構成されていてもよい。
次に、色指定時の別の表示動作について説明する。図15に示すように、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面がタッチされると、表示装置100は、色平面へのタッチを検出する(S141)。次いで、表示装置100は、タッチされた領域の色を検出する(S142)。次いで、表示装置100は、図16に示すように、ステップS142で検出した色領域の表示位置を移動し(S143)、色指定時の表示動作に関する一連の処理を終了する。なお、タッチパネル121から指が離れたタイミングで、ステップS143で移動した色領域の表示位置を戻すように構成されていてもよい。
ここで、図17~図19を参照しながら、色指定操作の履歴を保持しておく機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図17に示すように、履歴機能を搭載した表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、タッチパネル121と、履歴管理部122と、駆動部123とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。また、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面の領域がタッチされると、タッチされた領域の色が選択される。
ここで、図18を参照しながら、履歴の記録動作について説明する。図18に示すように、タッチパネル121を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面がタッチされると、表示装置100は、色平面へのタッチを検出する(S151)。次いで、表示装置100は、タッチされた領域の色を検出する(S152)。次いで、表示装置100は、履歴管理部122の機能により、ステップS152で検出された色の情報、色相の情報、回転角度の情報、色平面の構成を示す情報などを記録装置に記録し(S153)、履歴の記録動作に関する一連の処理を終了する。
次に、図19を参照しながら、履歴の読み出し動作について説明する。図19に示すように、履歴の読み出し要求を取得すると(S161)、表示装置100は、履歴管理部122の機能により、ステップS161で要求された色を含む色平面を抽出する(S162)。次いで、表示装置100は、駆動部123の機能により、ステップS162で抽出した色平面に対応する位置に色表示部102を回転させる(S163)。次いで、表示装置100は、ステップS163で抽出した色平面を色表示部102に表示し(S164)、履歴の読み出し動作に関する一連の処理を終了する。なお、ステップS163、S164の処理順序は交換可能である。
さて、これまでは指定色の情報を表示に利用することを念頭において説明を進めてきたが、この表示装置100を入力装置として利用する場合、指定色の情報を外部の機器に出力できるようにしておく方が好ましい。例えば、図20に示すように、タッチパネル121を介して指定された色の情報が色表示部102に入力され、有線(例えば、USB、IEEE1394、LANなど)又は無線通信(例えば、WLAN、IrDA、Bluetooth、携帯電話回線など)により外部の機器に提供されるように構成されていることが好ましい。なお、図20の例では、外部の機器としてパーソナルコンピュータが描画されているが、携帯電話、情報端末、ゲーム機などの機器に指定色の情報が提供されるように構成されていてもよい。
ところで、上記の説明においては、1つの色を指定する操作を念頭において説明を進めてきたが、表示装置100は、複数の色を選択できるように構成されていてもよい。例えば、複数の色が選択された場合に、選択された複数の色が混色され、混色後の色が色表示部102に表示されるように構成されていてもよい。また、タッチパネル121に対する押圧力に応じた比率で複数の色が混色されるように構成されていてもよい。また、混色後の色を含む色平面が選択され、その色平面が色表示部102に表示されるように構成されていてもよい。その際、選択された色平面に対応する回転角度に色表示部102が自動的に移動されるように構成されていてもよい。この場合、タッチパネル121から指が離れた後で色表示部102が移動されるように構成されている方が好ましい。
次に、分解能切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成について説明する。
図1などに示したように、マンセル色票は、例えば、彩度を横軸、明度を縦軸とするマトリックスで色平面を表現している。そのため、彩度の間隔及び明度の間隔(分解能)を調整することにより各マンセル色票で表現可能な色の種類数を制御することが可能である。また、マンセル色票は色相毎に設けられており、色相の分解能(切り替え可能な色相の数)に応じて切り替え可能なマンセル色票の数が異なる。なお、通常は彩度を0~14(但し、色相に応じて最大値が異なる。)、明度を1~9.5の各段階に分けて色平面を表示する。以下では、上記のような分解能の切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図21を参照しながら、分解能切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図21に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、タッチパネル131と、分解能入力部132とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。また、タッチパネル131を介して色表示部102に表示された色平面の領域がタッチされると、タッチされた領域の色が選択される。なお、タッチパネル131がタッチされたタイミングで色表示部102の回転動作がロックされるように構成されていてもよい。
次に、図22及び図23を参照しながら、分解能の情報が入力された場合における表示装置100の動作について説明する。図22に示すように、まず、表示装置100は、分解能入力部132の機能により、分解能の情報を取得する(S171)。次いで、表示装置100は、色平面計算部104の機能により、ステップS171で取得した分解能の情報に基づいて当該分解能に対応する色平面を再計算する(S172)。次いで、表示装置100は、図23に示すように、ステップS172で再計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示し(S173)、分解能の情報が入力された場合の動作に係る一連の処理を終了する。
次に、モード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成について説明する。
これまでは色表示部102の回転角度に応じて色平面が変化する構成について説明してきた。しかし、所望の色平面が得られた場合、その色平面の表示を固定しておきたい場合がある。そのような場合に、何らかの理由により色表示部102が回転し、色平面が変化してしまうのは好ましくない。そこで、本件発明者は、色表示部102の回転に応じて色平面を変化させることが可能な色変更モードと、色表示部102の回転にかかわらず色平面が固定される色固定モードとを切り替える機能を考案した。以下、このモード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図24を参照しながら、モード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図24に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、モード切り替え部141とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。
次に、図25を参照しながら、動作モードの設定を考慮した表示装置100の動作について説明する。図25に示すように、まず、表示装置100は、角度検知部103の機能により、色表示部102の変位を検出する(S181)。次いで、表示装置100は、モード切り替え部141の機能により、動作モードが色変更モードか否かを判定する(S182)。動作モードが色変更モードの場合、表示装置100は、処理をステップS183に進める。一方、動作モードが色固定モードの場合、表示装置100は、動作モードの設定を考慮した色表示部102の回転動作に伴う処理を終了する。
次に、色空間変換機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成について説明する。
色盲の人は色の見え方が異なる。そのため、色盲の人向けに色平面の表示を変換したい場合がある。例えば、健常者用の色平面、第一色盲用の色平面、第二色盲用の色平面を相互に変換するための変換情報を変換関数又はLookUpTable(LUT)の形で保持しておき、必要に応じて色平面の切り替えができるようにしておくことが望ましい。また、色盲用の色平面以外にも、様々な特徴を持つ色平面への変換が可能な機能を搭載しておいてもよい。さらに、予め用意された複数の色平面を組み合わせて(例えば、線形補間などで)、中間的な色平面を創り出す機能を搭載しておいてもよい。なお、各色平面を変換することは、色空間の変換に他ならないため、この機能のことを色空間変換機能と呼ぶことにする。以下では、このような色空間変換機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図26を参照しながら、色空間変換機能を搭載した表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図26に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、変換情報保持部151と、色空間変換部152とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。
次に、図27を参照しながら、色平面の変換動作について説明する。図27に示すように、表示装置100は、ユーザにより入力された色平面の変換要求を取得する(S191)。次いで、表示装置100は、色平面計算部104の機能により、色空間変換部152により変換情報保持部151から読み出された変換情報を利用して色空間を変換する(S192)。次いで、表示装置100は、変換後の色平面で色表示部102の表示内容を更新し(S193)、色平面の変換に関する一連の処理を終了する。
図27に示した色平面の変換動作は、ユーザによる変換要求の手動入力に基づく動作であった。しかし、図28に示すように、時分割で複数種類の色平面が自動的に切り替わるように構成されていてもよい。この場合、まず、表示装置100は、色平面を切り替えるタイミング(以下、変換タイミング)になったか否かを判定する(S201)。変換タイミングになった場合、表示装置100は、処理をステップS202に進める。一方、変換タイミングになっていない場合、表示装置100は、処理をステップS201に戻す。
次に、画像入力機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成について説明する。
これまで、色空間を指定する方法として、色表示部102の回転角度を調整する方法を紹介してきた。ここでは、入力画像から色空間を自動的に指定する機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図29を参照しながら、画像入力機能を搭載した表示装置100の機能構成について説明する。図29に示すように、この表示装置100は、主に、基底部101と、色表示部102と、角度検知部103と、色平面計算部104と、画像入力部161と、色相計算部162と、駆動部163とを有する。角度検知部103は、基準方向Sを基準とした色表示部102の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部103により検知された回転角度は、色平面計算部104に入力される。色平面計算部104は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部104は、計算した色平面を色表示部102に表示させる。
次に、図30を参照しながら、色相の計算方法について説明する。図30に示すように、表示装置100は、まず、画像を取得する(S211)。次いで、表示装置100は、色相計算部162の機能により、ステップS211で取得した画像を構成する各画素の色をHSV色空間にマッピング(HSV化)する(S212)。次いで、表示装置100は、色相計算部162の機能により、色相Hのヒストグラムを算出する(S213)。次いで、表示装置100は、色相計算部162の機能により、ステップS213で算出したヒストグラムに基づき、色相Hの度数が大きな色相を選択する(S214)。次いで、表示装置100は、ステップS214で選択した色相を出力し(S215)、色相の計算に関する一連の処理を終了する。
さて、これまで画像入力による色相の計算方法について説明してきたが、テキスト情報(文字)の入力に基づいて色相を選択できるように構成されていてもよい。例えば、色のコード情報や色の一般名称などを文字で入力できるように構成されていてもよい。また、自然文の入力に応じて言語解析が行われ、入力された自然文に含まれる色に関する情報からユーザの意図に近いと思われる色相が選択されるように構成されていてもよい。例えば、色に関する表現を尤もらしい色相に変換し、登場頻度が最も高い色相が選択されるように構成することなどが考えられる。
次に、本技術の第2実施形態について説明する。本実施形態は、色平面を表示する表示デバイス(色表示部202)を複数枚設けた表示装置200の構成に関する。
本実施形態に係る表示装置200の基本構成について説明する。
図32に示すように、本実施形態に係る表示装置200は、基底部201、及び、回転軸Pを基準に回転可能な状態で基底部201に接続された複数の色表示部202(色表示部202A、202B、202C)を有する。図32の例では、3枚の色表示部202A、202B、202Cを有する表示装置200の構成が示されている。なお、色表示部202の枚数は3枚に限定されず、2枚又は4枚以上であってもよい。また、色表示部202A、202B、202Cは、それぞれ独立に回転できるように構成されていてもよいし、互いの位置が所定の回転角度以上に離れるように回転動作が制限されていてもよい。
図33を参照しながら、基本構成を有する表示装置200の機能構成について説明する。図33に示すように、この表示装置200は、主に、基底部201と、複数の色表示部202と、角度検知部203と、色平面計算部204とを有する。角度検知部203は、基準方向Sを基準とした各色表示部202の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部203により検知された各色表示部202の回転角度は、色平面計算部204に入力される。色平面計算部204は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部204は、計算した色平面を該当する色表示部202に表示させる。
次に、図34を参照しながら、基本構成を有する表示装置200の動作について説明する。図34に示すように、まず、表示装置200は、角度検知部203の機能により、各色表示部202の変位を検出する(S301)。次いで、表示装置200は、角度検知部203の機能により、基準位置(基準方向S)からの各色表示部202の回転角度を取得する(S302)。次いで、表示装置200は、色平面計算部204の機能により、ステップS302で取得した回転角度に対応する色相を選択する(S303)。次いで、表示装置200は、色平面計算部204の機能により、選択した色相に対応する色平面を決定する(S304)。次いで、表示装置200は、色平面計算部204の機能により、ステップS304で決定した色平面で各色表示部202の表示内容を更新し(S305)、一連の動作を終了する。なお、色表示部202の変位が検出される度に、ステップS301~S305の動作が実行される。
次に、モード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置200の構成について説明する。
これまでは各色表示部202の回転角度に応じて色平面が変化する構成について説明してきた。しかし、所望の色平面が得られた場合、その色平面の表示を固定しておきたい場合がある。特に、1つの色表示部202で色平面を固定しておき、他の色表示部202を移動させながら、色平面の比較を行いたい場合がある。そのような場合に、何らかの理由により固定したい色平面が表示された色表示部202が回転し、色平面が変化してしまうのは好ましくない。そこで、本件発明者は、色表示部202の回転に応じて色平面を変化させることが可能な色変更モードと、色表示部202の回転にかかわらず色平面が固定される色固定モードとを利用して色平面の変化を制御する方法を考案した。以下、このモード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置100の構成及び動作について説明する。
図35を参照しながら、モード切り替え機能を搭載した表示装置200の機能構成について説明する。図35に示すように、この表示装置200は、主に、基底部201と、複数の色表示部202と、角度検知部203と、色平面計算部204と、モード制御部211とを有する。角度検知部203は、基準方向Sを基準とした各色表示部202の回転角度を検知する手段である。角度検知部203により検知された各色表示部202の回転角度は、色平面計算部204に入力される。色平面計算部204は、入力された回転角度に対応する色相を選択し、選択した色相に対応する色平面を計算する。さらに、色平面計算部204は、計算した色平面を該当する色表示部202に表示させる。
次に、図36を参照しながら、動作モードの設定を考慮した表示装置200の動作について説明する。図36に示すように、まず、表示装置200は、角度検知部203の機能により、各色表示部202の変位を検出する(S311)。次いで、表示装置200は、モード制御部211の機能により、変位した色表示部202を色変更モードに設定し、他の色表示部202を色固定モードに設定する(S312)。なお、色変更モード及び色固定モードの設定は、ステップS312のように自動的に行われるようにしてもよいし、ユーザ入力により手動で行われるようにしてもよい。ここでは、自動的に動作モードの設定が行われる場合の動作例を紹介する。
ここで、上記の第1実施形態において説明した各種機能を本実施形態に係る表示装置200に組み合わせる方法について説明する。
まず、入力機能との組み合わせについて説明する。入力機能との組み合わせは、表示装置200にタッチパネルのような入力デバイスを搭載することで実現可能である。また、図11及び図12に例示した色情報の表示や、図13~図16に示した色指定時の表示動作なども、そのまま表示装置200において実現することが可能である。さらに、表示装置200に履歴管理部122や駆動部123と同等の機能を搭載することで、図17~図19に示した履歴機能を表示装置200に追加することが可能である。そして、図20に示した外部出力機能も、色表示部202の機能を拡張することで追加可能である。また、複数の色が指定された場合に指定された色を混色する混色機能も表示装置200に追加可能である。このように、第1実施形態に係る表示装置100の入力機能は、同様にして表示装置200に組み合わせることが可能である。
次に、分解能切り替え機能との組み合わせについて説明する。分解能切り替え機能との組み合わせは、第1実施形態に係る分解能入力部132と同等の機能を表示装置200に追加することで実現可能である。また、分解能の切り替え対象とする色表示部202を指定し、指定した色表示部202の分解能だけを切り替える機能を追加することも可能である。さらに、複数の色表示部202を色固定モードに設定し、複数の色表示部202に同じ色平面を表示させ、互いに異なる分解能で表示できるように構成することも可能である。また、複数の色表示部202に表示された色平面の分解能を1回の操作で同じに揃える機能を搭載していてもよい。このように、第1実施形態に係る表示装置100の分解能切り替え機能は、同様にして表示装置200に組み合わせることが可能である。
次に、色空間変換機能との組み合わせについて説明する。色空間変換機能との組み合わせは、第1実施形態に係る変換情報保持部151及び色空間変換部152と同等の機能を表示装置200に追加することで実現可能である。また、色空間変換機能の対応とする色表示部202を指定し、指定した色表示部202の色平面だけを変換する機能を追加することも可能である。さらに、複数の色表示部202を色固定モードに設定し、複数の色表示部202に同じ色平面を表示させ、互いに異なる変換情報で変換された色平面を表示できるように構成することも可能である。また、複数の色表示部202に表示された色平面を1回の操作で同じ変換情報で変換された色平面に揃える機能を搭載していてもよい。このように、第1実施形態に係る表示装置100の色空間変換機能は、同様にして表示装置200に組み合わせることが可能である。
次に、画像入力機能との組み合わせについて説明する。画像入力機能との組み合わせは、第1実施形態に係る画像入力部161及び色相計算部162と同等の機能を表示装置200に追加することで実現可能である。但し、画像を入力する際に、入力画像に基づいて選択された色相を適用する色表示部202を指定しておく仕組みが必要になる。例えば、選択された色相に対応する回転角度に最も近い位置にある色表示部202が選択され、その色表示部202の表示内容が更新されるようにする仕組みが考えられる。また、表示内容を更新する色表示部202をユーザが予め設定しておく仕組みとしてもよい。さらに、色変更モードに設定された色表示部202の表示内容が自動的に更新されるように構成されていてもよい。このように、第1実施形態に係る表示装置100の画像入力機能は、同様にして表示装置200に組み合わせることが可能である。
上記の表示装置100、200が有する制御機能及び演算機能は、例えば、図37に示すハードウェア構成を用いて実現することが可能である。つまり、当該各構成要素の制御機能及び演算機能は、コンピュータプログラムを用いて図37に示すハードウェアを制御することにより実現される。
最後に、本実施形態の技術的思想について簡単に纏める。以下に記載する技術的思想は、例えば、PC、携帯電話、ゲーム機、情報端末、情報家電、カーナビゲーションシステム等、種々の情報処理装置と組み合わせて用いることができる。
表色系を構成する3つの属性値のうち、第1及び第2の属性値で表現される色平面を表示する色表示部と、

前記色表示部の回転角度に応じて前記色平面を変化させる表示制御部と、

前記色表示部に表示された色平面内の領域に触れることで当該色平面内の領域に対応する色を指定することが可能な入力部をさらに備える、

前記表示制御部は、前記入力部を介して色が指定された場合に、指定された色に関する情報を前記色表示部に表示させる、

前記各色表示部は、動作モードとして色変更モードと色固定モードとを有し、
1つの前記色表示部が色変更モードの場合、他の前記色表示部が色固定モードに設定され、前記表示制御部は、前記色固定モードに設定された前記他の色表示部の回転角度が変更されても当該他の色表示部に表示された色平面を変化させない、

一の色平面を見え方の異なる他の色平面に変換するための一又は複数の変換情報を保持する変換情報保持部をさらに備え、
前記変換情報が選択された場合に、前記表示制御部は、選択された前記変換情報を利用して変換した色平面を前記色表示部に表示させる、

一の色平面を見え方の異なる他の色平面に変換するための一又は複数の変換情報を保持する変換情報保持部をさらに備え、
前記表示制御部は、所定のタイミングで前記変換情報を変更しながら、当該変換情報を利用して変換した色平面を前記色表示部に表示させる、

- 表色系を構成する3つの属性値のうち、第1及び第2の属性値で表現される色平面を表示する色表示部と、
前記色表示部が回転可能な状態で接続された基底部と、
前記色表示部の回転角度に応じて前記色平面を変化させる表示制御部と、
を備える、
表示装置。 - 前記色表示部の回転角度は、前記第1及び第2の属性値とは異なる前記第3の属性値に対応付けられており、
前記表示制御部は、前記色表示部の回転角度に対応する前記第3の属性値を検出し、検出した前記第3の属性値に対応する色空間を前記色表示部に表示させる、
請求項1に記載の表示装置。 - 前記色表示部に表示された色平面内の領域に触れることで当該色平面内の領域に対応する色を指定することが可能な入力部をさらに備える、
