本発明によるネットワーク制御方法は、複数のユーザサイトの各々に接続したネットワークのエッジ装置を制御するネットワーク制御方法であって、ネットワーク状態収集手段が前記ネットワーク内部のネットワーク状態を前記エッジ装置を通して収集し、トラフィック誘導手段が、前記ネットワーク状態に基づいて、ユーザサイトから送信されるトラヒックを前記エッジ装置を通して前記ネットワーク内部の特定の経路もしくは特定の受信端へ誘導する、ことを特徴とする。
図1に示すように、本発明のネットワークシステムは、地理的に広範囲に配置されたユーザ拠点間を接続するWAN(Wide Area Network)10と、WAN10により接続される複数のユーザ拠点(ユーザサイト)20からなり、WAN10と各ユーザ拠点20の境界にはWANエッジ装置300およびユーザエッジ装置400が配置されている。
図2に示すように、WAN制御装置100は、トラヒック誘導部101、ネットワーク解析部102およびソースマップ部103に加えて、外部装置との通信インタフェースを持つトポロジ構築部104、品質情報取得部105、装置制御実行部106、トラヒック量取得部107およびクエリI/F(問い合せインタフェース)108を有する。
図3に示すように、ユーザ制御装置200は、ユーザサイトネットワーク制御部201、 装置制御実行部202、クエリI/F203、および、他ユーザサイトのアドレスリスト204からなる。
以下、図4~図8を参照しながら、WAN制御装置100内のソースマップ部103に保持される情報の作成方法について説明する。ソースマップ部103は、少なくとも時間的に変動するWAN10の構成情報とそのネットワーク状態に関する情報、および、WANエッジ装置が配備されているユーザエッジ装置400から他のすべてのユーザエッジ装置向けの一つまたは複数の経路情報と、それぞれの経路の品質に関する情報と、を保持している。まず、WAN10におけるトポロジ構築手順を示す。
図4(A)において、WANエッジ装置AとWANエッジ装置Hが他のユーザサイトのWANエッジ装置との間でパスを設定しているものとする。ここでは、WANエッジ装置Aから他のWANエッジ装置F,G,Hに複数のパスが設定されている。各WAN制御装置のトポロジ構築部104は、この複数のパスの経路情報からトポロジ情報を構築する。ここでは、WANエッジ装置AがWAN制御装置100Aにより制御され、WANエッジ装置HがWAN制御装置100Hにより制御されるものとして説明する。WAN制御装置100Aおよび100Hはいずれも図2に示す構成を有するので、各WAN制御装置の構成ブロックは各参照番号にAあるいはHを付加して区別するものとする。以下、図5を参照しながらトポロジ構築手順について説明する。
次に、図6および図7を参照して、性能情報の取得手順について説明する。ここでは、図6(A)に示すように、WAN制御装置100Aにより制御されるWANエッジ装置AがWANエッジ装置G、FおよびHに接続している場合について説明する。
最後に、上記したトポロジ情報とパス情報を用いて、WAN制御装置のネットワーク解析部102が、各パスの空き帯域を計算する方法について説明する。
各リンク空き帯域行列=リンク帯域行列-経路行列×パス帯域行列。
上述したように、ソースマップ部103のデータベース(DB)におけるパス情報(トポロジ情報、品質情報、利用可能帯域情報)は常時更新されている。トラフィック誘導部101は、ユーザサイトからユーザトラフィック送信の要求があると、その通信先のユーザサイトのアドレスを用いてソースマップ部103のデータベース(DB)を検索し、1つあるいは複数の経路候補を決定し、当該ユーザトラフィックの要求帯域等の情報に基づいて送信可能な経路を決定する。
上述したように、本実施形態によるWAN制御装置は、定期的に品質情報や経路情報を取得することで常に最新のWANトポロジ構成および品質などのネットワーク状態を取得することができ、これによりユーザのトラヒックを柔軟に誘導することが可能となる。また、トラヒックの切り替えをWANエッジ装置のみで行うため、WAN10内部すべての通信装置を制御する必要がなく、パスを高速で制御することができる。
図9に示すように、本実施形態によるネットワーク制御装置は、SDH(Synchronous Digital Hierarchy)などのタイムスロットまたは波長単位でトラヒックを切り替えるパス切替網11に接続されたWANエッジ装置360や、パケット単位でトラヒックをスイッチするパケット網12に接続されたWANエッジ装置350に適用することができる。このように、本実施形態によれば、レイヤが異なるWAN上のVPN間でユーザトラフィックを誘導することも可能である。
上述した実施形態の一部あるいは全部は、以下の付記のようにも記載されうるが、これらに限定されるものではない。

構築したトポロジ情報と各パスの品質情報を各WANエッジ装置に保存するソースマップ部と、
これら情報をもとにネットワークの状態を解析するネットワーク解析部と、
解析結果に従って、トラヒックを誘導するトラヒック誘導部と、
トラヒックを誘導するためにWANエッジ装置を制御する装置制御実行部と、
を備えることを特徴とするネットワークシステム。

複数のWAN制御装置のソースマップ部がレイヤの異なるパケット網と回線交換網からなる複数のWANのネットワーク構成とネットワーク状態を保持し、ユーザ制御装置との通信インタフェースを介して、前記レイヤの異なるWAN上のVPN間でユーザから送信されるトラヒックを誘導することを特徴としたネットワークシステム。

複数のユーザサイト間を接続するVPNを提供するWANを制御するWAN制御装置であって、
WANの情報を収集し、トポロジ構成を作成するトポロジ構築部とWANエッジ装置間に設定された複数のパスの性能情報を収集する品質取得部と、
構築したトポロジ情報と各パスの品質情報を内部に保存するソースマップ部と、
これら情報をもとにネットワークの状態を解析するネットワーク解析部と、
解析結果に従ってトラヒックを誘導するトラヒック誘導部と、
トラヒックを誘導するためにWANエッジ装置を制御する装置制御実行部と、
を備えることを特徴とするネットワーク制御装置。

Claims (10)
- 複数のユーザサイトの各々に接続したネットワークのエッジ装置を制御するネットワーク制御装置であって、
前記ネットワーク内部のネットワーク状態を前記エッジ装置を通して収集するネットワーク状態収集手段と、
前記ネットワーク状態に基づいて、ユーザサイトから送信されるトラヒックを前記エッジ装置を通して前記ネットワーク内部の特定の経路もしくは特定の受信端へ誘導するトラフィック誘導手段と、
を有することを特徴とするネットワーク制御装置。 - 前記ネットワーク状態は、前記エッジ装置と他のエッジ装置との間のパス経路情報と、そのパス性能情報および空き帯域情報とを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のネットワーク制御装置。
- 前記パス性能情報および/または空き帯域情報を前記ユーザサイトに提供することを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載のネットワーク制御装置。
- レイヤの異なる複数のネットワークの各々のエッジ装置を制御し、前記トラフィック誘導手段が前記トラフィックを前記複数のネットワークのいずれかに誘導することを特徴とする請求項1-3のいずれか1項に記載のネットワーク制御装置。
- 複数のユーザサイトの各々に接続したネットワークのエッジ装置を制御するネットワーク制御方法であって、
ネットワーク状態収集手段が前記ネットワーク内部のネットワーク状態を前記エッジ装置を通して収集し、
トラフィック誘導手段が、前記ネットワーク状態に基づいて、ユーザサイトから送信されるトラヒックを前記エッジ装置を通して前記ネットワーク内部の特定の経路もしくは特定の受信端へ誘導する、
ことを特徴とするネットワーク制御方法。 - 前記ネットワーク状態は、前記エッジ装置と他のエッジ装置との間のパス経路情報と、そのパス性能情報および空き帯域情報とを含むことを特徴とする請求項5に記載のネットワーク制御方法。
- 前記パス性能情報および/または空き帯域情報を前記ユーザサイトに提供することを特徴とする請求項5または6に記載のネットワーク制御方法。
- レイヤの異なる複数のネットワークの各々のエッジ装置を制御し、前記トラフィック誘導手段が前記トラフィックを前記複数のネットワークのいずれかに誘導することを特徴とする請求項5-7のいずれか1項に記載のネットワーク制御方法。
- 複数のユーザサイトを接続するネットワークシステムであって、
前記複数のユーザサイトにそれぞれ接続した複数のエッジ装置と、
前記複数のエッジ装置をそれぞれ制御するネットワーク制御装置と、
を有し、前記ネットワーク制御装置が前記ネットワーク内部のネットワーク状態を前記エッジ装置を通して収集し、当該収集されたネットワーク状態に基づいて、ユーザサイトから送信されるトラヒックを前記エッジ装置を通して前記ネットワーク内部の特定の経路もしくは特定の受信端へ誘導する、ことを特徴とするネットワークシステム。 - 複数のユーザサイトの各々に接続したネットワークのエッジ装置を制御するネットワーク制御装置としてコンピュータを機能させるプログラムであって、
前記ネットワーク内部のネットワーク状態を前記エッジ装置を通して収集するネットワーク状態収集機能と、
前記ネットワーク状態に基づいて、ユーザサイトから送信されるトラヒックを前記エッジ装置を通して前記ネットワーク内部の特定の経路もしくは特定の受信端へ誘導するトラフィック誘導機能と、
を前記コンピュータで実現させることを特徴とするプログラム。
