Abstract

Lubricating device for lubrication of wheels of rail vehicles or rails from the rail vehicle, without use of compressed air and method for its use solves technical problem of dosage of sophisticated lubricants with high contents of solid particles without compressed air with method enabling dosage onto the wheel by means of oscillating, pulsating element. As the wheels of rail vehicles are geometrically changing all the time, there is an applicator as part of the lubrication device designed to follow deformation of the wheels. The pulsating oscillation is limited to required width of the lubricating film on the wheel profile which is in contact with the rail. The pulsating can be even or uneven.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 01 October 2013 (01.10.2013).
1. Lubricating device for lubrication of wheels of rail vehicles without use of compressed air, characterized in that it comprises a dosing element (7) or plurality thereof performing essentially reciprocating longitudinal movements in general direction of lubricant discharge, said dosing element (7) dosing a lubricant onto the rail vehicle wheel (16) by means of a pumping element (2) whereby said lubricant is discharged in pulsing or continuous fashion, and further said dosing element (7) spreads discharged lubricant onto the rail vehicle wheel (16) by moving in essentially transverse movements in direction essentially perpendicular to general direction of lubricant discharge.
2. Lubricating device according to claim 1 characterized in that the lubricant is discharged onto the rail vehicle wheel (16) while the dosing element (7) of an applicator (12) spreads said discharged lubricant onto said rail vehicle wheel
(16) .
3. Lubricating device according to claim 1 characterized in that the lubricant is discharged directly onto the rail (17) just before said rail vehicle wheel (16) essentially onto contact points between said rail vehicle wheel (16) and said rail
(17) .
4. Lubricating device according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that said lubricating device is installed onto said rail vehicle.
5. Lubricating device according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that the dosing element (7) is moving toward and away from said rail vehicle wheel (16) in pulsating fashion whereby during each pulse the dosing element (7) moves in close proximity or in contact with said rail vehicle wheel (16), and during each pulse discharges pre-determined quantity of lubricant, said lubricant meanwhile supplied by pumping element (2) through inlet hose (10).
6. Lubricating device according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that quantity of the lubricant discharged onto said rail vehicle wheel (16) can be metered by means of mechanical pump setting element (1) which enables set up of the applicator (12) or each applicator (12) in multiple applicator setting, and further enables pulsation by means of magnets, preferably electro magnets (3), and counteracting means, preferably springs (4), or by means of mechanical displacing elements.
7. Lubricating device according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that by controlling of amplitude of movements in essentially transverse direction (oscillations (6)) the width of lubricating strip as a result of spreading of lubricant onto said rail vehicle wheel (16) is controlled.
8. Lubricating device according to any of the previous claims, characterized in at least two applicators (12) performing lubrication of inside and outside surfaces of said rail vehicle wheel (16).
9. Method for lubrication of wheels of rail vehicles without use of compressed air, characterized in that dosing element (7) receives a signal that rail vehicle wheel (16) is approaching a curve, and following receipt of said signal said dosing element (7) moves toward said rail vehicle wheel (16) in order for said dosing element (7) to get in close proximity or in contact with said rail vehicle wheel (16), following which pulsating or continuous discharge of lubricant onto said rail vehicle wheel (16) is performed, followed by spreading of said lubricant onto said rail vehicle wheel (16) by movement of the dosing element (7) essentially in transverse direction relative to general direction of the dosing element (7) moving toward and away from the rail vehicle wheel (16) whereby the moving toward and away to said rail vehicle wheel (16) is preferably controlled by means of counteracting means preferably spring (4) in the applicator (12).
