Description

표면품질 및 성형성이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강 및 그 제조방법
본 발명은 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 구체적으로는 합금성분에 따른 항복점 연신을 제어하여 항복점 연신에 의한 조질압연 및 레벨링등의 후공정이 필요 없고, 연료전지 박판 성형에 적합한 표면품질 및 성형성이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
고분자 전해질 연료전지는 작동온도가 70~100℃로 낮고 가동시간이 짧으며 출력밀도가 높아 수송 및 휴대용, 가정용등의 전력원으로 각광을 받고 있으며, 연료전지 스택은 전해질과 전극(Anode, Cathode)으로 구성된 막-전극 집합체와 유로가 있는 분리판, 공기의 입출구, 수소가스의 입출구가 포함된 엔드 플레이트로 구성된다.
연료전지 분리판은 일반적으로, 흑연, 카본 복합체, Ti합금, 스테인리스강 및 도전성 플라스틱 중 하나로 형성된다. 스테인리스강 역시 연료전지 분리판의 주요 소재중의 하나이다. 스테인리스강은 낮은 계면접촉저항, 우수한 내식성, 열전도성, 낮은 기체투과성 및 대면적화가 가능하고, 양호한 제품 성형성, 박물화가 가능하여 연료전지 스택의 부피저감, 무게감소를 이룰 수 있는 장점을 갖고 있다.
스테인리스강을 활용한 금속 분리판은 기계가공 방법을 사용하는 흑연 분리판의 유로설계 제작 공정과는 달리 스탬핑(Stamping), 하이드로 포밍(Hydroforming)공정을 사용하여 통상의 0.1mm 두께 내외의 얇은 두께를 갖는 소재로 유로가 형성된 채널을 성형하는 공정을 거치게 된다.
이러한 성형공정을 거치는 박판 스테인리스강은 소재의 성형성이 좋아야 하며, 성형후 제품의 표면결함이 없어야 하며 다양한 성형유로 깊이, 채널폭의 설계 요건에서도 성형 변형부의 네킹 및 파단이 없어야 한다.
상기 스테인리스강 박판 제품의 성형성은 재료가 받는 소성변형 구간에 따라 소재의 항복점 연신에 의한 스트레쳐 스트레인 등에 의하여 소재의 국부적 응력집중에 의한 파단 현상이나, 표면의 불균일 변형무늬에 의한 표면결함 혹은 연신율 열위에 따른 가공성의 문제가 있다. 상기 인자중 금속의 항복점 연신에 의해 발생하는 스트레쳐 스트레인 결함은 소재의 소량의 침입형 고용원소에 의하여 소재의 불균일 변형을 일으켜 표면에 불꽃형태의 음각의 무늬가 나타나 변형이 계속되면서 면 전체가 거칠게 되는 현상으로, 이러한 현상이 발생할 경우 연료전지 분리판의 성형시 분리판 유로 성형 채널부위의 잔주름의 형성에 의한 결함 혹은 소재 변형부위의 국부적 응력 집중에 의한 파단 발생을 유발할 수 있어서 근본적인 해결이 필요하다.
따라서 항복점 연신은 제거되는 것이 연료전지 분리판 성형 시 성형성을 향상시키는 필수적인 요소라고 할 수 있다. 통상적으로 이를 제거하기 위해서는 최종 압연판재를 0.5에서 2%정도로 냉간압연 혹은 레벨링등에 의해 제거하는 방법이 일반적으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 냉간압연 혹은 레벨링등의 추가 공정으로 인하여 소재의 제조비용을 높일 수 있고, 일정 시간이 지난후에 이들 항복점 연신이 재발생할 수 있는 문제점이 있다.
본 발명은 상기의 요망에 의하여 안출된 것으로서 소재의 항복점 연신에 의한 스트레쳐 스트레인이 없고 연신율이 우수하며 박판 소재에 대한 분리판 유로 성형시 소재 변형부위의 국부적 응력 집중에 의한 파단이 없는 성형성이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
또한, 본 발명은 성형성 이외에도 표면품질이 우수하여 자동차, 가정용, 휴대용 연료전지등의 분리판용 스테인리스 강의 제조방법을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명은 중량 %로, C: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, N: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, Si: 0 초과 0.4% 이하, Mn: 0 초과 0.2 %이하, P: 0 초과 0.04% 이하, S: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, Cr:25.0~32.0%, Cu:0~1.0%, Ni: 0 초과 0.8% 이하, Ti:0.01~0.5% 이하, Nb:0.01~0.5% 이하, V:0.01~1.5% 이하, 잔부 Fe 및 불가피하게 함유되는 원소로 이루어지고, 하기 식(1)을 만족하며 항복점 연신이 1.1% 이하인 표면품질 및 성형성이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강을 제공한다.

또한, 상기 스테인리스강은 중량 %로, Ni: 0초과 0.3% 이하로 함유할 수 있다.
본 발명에 있어서, 상기 스테인리스강은 중량 %로, Mo:0~4%, W:0~1%로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 1종 또는 2종의 원소가 더 포함된다.
또한, 상기 스테인리스강은 (Ti,Nb)(C,N)석출물을 포함하고, 상기 스테인리스강에서 단위면적당 전체석출물의 면적분율(%)은 3.5% 이하이되, (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물의 면적분율(%)은 62% 이상일 수 있다.
또한, 상기 스테인리스강은 중량 %로, C+N은 0.032% 이하일 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 또 다른 실시예에 의하면, 중량 %로, C: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, N: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, Si: 0 초과 0.4% 이하, Mn: 0 초과 0.2 %이하, P: 0 초과 0.04% 이하, S: 0 초과 0.02% 이하, Cr:25.0~32.0%, Cu:0~1.0%, Ni: 0 초과 0.8% 이하, Ti:0.01~0.5% 이하, Nb:0.01~0.5% 이하, V:0.01~1.5% 이하, 잔부 Fe 및 불가피하게 함유되는 원소로 이루어지고, 하기 식(1)을 만족하는 조성의 스테인리스강을 연주, 열연 및 냉연공정 후에 냉연 소둔열처리를 실시하되, 항복점 연신을 1.1% 이하로 제어하는 표면품질 및 성형성이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강 제조방법을 제공한다.

또한, 상기 스테인리스강은 중량 %로, Ni: 0초과 0.3% 이하로 함유하고, C+N은 0.032% 이하일 수 있다.

본 발명에서는 상기 스테인리스강을 연주공정, 열간압연, 열연소둔, 냉간압연 및 냉연 소둔을 반복하여 실시하되, 상기 냉연 소둔온도는 900~1100℃의 온도조건에서 실시한다.
이상에서 설명한 바와 같이, 본 발명에 의하면 강의 침입형 합금원소(C, N)의 량과, 적정 안정화 원소(Ti, Nb, V)의 함량을 조절하여 항복점 연신이 1.1%이내로 낮추는 최적의 합금설계로 이루어진 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강을 얻을 수있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 성분범위 내에서 조질압연 및 레벨링등의 후공정이 필요 없고, 연료전지 박판 성형에 적합한 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강을 제조할 수 있다.

본 발명에 따른 성형성이 우수하고 표면품질이 우수한 연료전지 분리판용 페라이트계 스테인리스강은 중량 %로, C:0초과 0.02% 이하, N:0 초과 0.02% 이하, Si:0초과 0.4% 이하, Mn:0초과 0.2 %이하, P:0초과 0.04% 이하, S:0초과 0.02% 이하, Cr:25.0~32.0%, Cu:0~1.0%, Ni:0초과 0.8% 이하, Ti:0.01~0.5% 이하, Nb:0.01~0.5% 이하, V:0.01~1.5% 이하 그리고 Mo:0~4%, W:0~1%로 이루어지는 군에서 선택되는 1종 또는 2종의 원소가 더 포함되며, 잔부 Fe 및 불가피하게 함유되는 원소의 조성을 가진다.
본 발명은 상기 조성을 가지는 주편을 열간압연, 소둔, 산세가 이루어진 열연코일을 냉간압연, 소둔, 산세 혹은 냉간압연, 광휘소둔을 되풀이하여 최종 냉연제품이 제조된다.
이하, 본 발명의 조성범위와, 그 한정이유를 더욱 상세히 설명한다. 아울러, 이하에서 설명되는 %는 모두 중량%이다.
C는 탄화물을 형성시키는 원소로서 침입형으로 존재하게 되므로 과도하게 함유되면 강도는 상승하지만 연신율이 저하될 수 있다. 또한 과도한 C의 함유는 항복점 연신율을 크게하여 성형성의 저하를 초래한다. 따라서 그 함량은 0.02%이하로 하는 것이 바람직하다.
N는 질화물을 형성시키는 원소로서 침입형으로 존재하게 되므로 과도하게 함유되면 강도는 상승하지만 연신율 및 항복점 연신에서 불리하다. 따라서 그 함량은 0.02%이하로 하는 것이 바람직하다.
Si는 탈산에 유효한 원소이나 인성 및 성형성을 억제하므로, 본 발명에서는 Si의 조성비를 0.4% 이하로 제한한다.
Mn은 탈산을 증가시키는 원소이나, 개재물인 MnS는 내식성을 감소시키므로, 본 발명에서는 Mn의 조성비를 0.2% 이하로 제한한다.
P는 내식성뿐만 아니라 인성을 감소시키므로, 본 발명에서는 P의 조성비를 0.04% 이하로 제한한다.
S는 내공식성 및 열간가공성을 저하시키므로, 본 발명에서는 이를 고려하여 S의 조성비를 0.02% 이하로 제한한다.
Cr은 연료전지가 작동되는 산성 분위기에서 내식성을 증가시키나, 연신율을 감소시켜 성형성을 저해하므로, 본 발명에서는 Cr의 조성비를 25% 내지 32%로 제한한다.
Cu는 연료전지가 작동되는 산성 분위기에서 내식성을 증가시키나, 1%를 초과시 연신율이 저하되어 성형성이 나빠지므로 1%이하로 제한한다.
Ni은 0.8%을 초과하여 첨가되는 경우, 연료전지 작동중에 Ni 용출 및 연신율 저하로 인하여 소재의성형성이 저하될 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 Ni는 0.8% 이하로 첨가하는 것이 바람직하다. 또한, 상기 Ni는 0.3% 이하로 첨가되는 경우에는, 소재의 연질화에 더 효과적으로 작용하여 성형성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 Ni는 0 초과 0.3% 이하인 것이 더욱 바람직하다.
Ti와 Nb는 강 중의 C, N을 탄질화물로 형성하는 데 유효한 원소이며, 특히 소재의 연신율을 증가시킬 수 있고, 항복점 연신을 억제하는데 유효한 원소이다. 그러나 과잉 첨가하게 되면 개재물에 의한 외관불량 발생 및 인성이 저하하게 된다. 본 발명에서는 이를 고려하여 각각의 조성비를 0.01~0.5% 이하로 제한한다.
V은 탄질화물을 형성시키는 원소로써 항복점 연신을 억제하여 성형성을 개선하는데 유효한 원소이다. 과잉 첨가시 내식성 및 인성의 저하, 고가이므로 V의 조성비를 0.01~1.5%로 제한한다.
Mo는 작동되는 환경 분위기에서 내식성을 증가시키는 역할을 하나, 과잉첨가시 소재의 연신율 저하 및 경제성에서 열위하므로, 본 발명에서는 Mo의 조성비를 0% 내지 5% 이하의 범위로 제한한다.
W은 연료전지가 작동되는 산성 분위기에서 내식성을 증가시키고 계면접촉저항을 낮추는 효과가 있으나, 과잉 첨가 시 소재의 연신율 저하로 인한 성형성을 저하시킨다. 따라서, 본 발명에서는 이를 고려하여 W의 조성비를 0~1.0%로 제한한다.
본 발명에서 상기 Mo, W은 1종 이상 첨가될 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에서는 강을 조성함에 있어서, 본 발명은 상기의 조성범위에서 하기 식 (1)의 C, N, V, Ti, Nb함량을 조정하여 0.7 이하로 조절하면, 소재의 항복점 연신이 1.1%이내이고, 성형성이 우수한 강재를 제조할 수 있다. 여기에서, 식 (1)은 각각의 성분, 예컨대 C, N, V, Ti, Nb에 대한 중량%의 값을 넣은 결과이다.

본 발명은 먼저 상기와 같이 합금설계된 강으로 연주공정을 통해서 슬라브로 제작된다. 이어서 슬라브는 열간압연, 열연소둔후 냉간압연을 실시하게 되고 냉간압연 후에는 소둔열처리를 반복 실시하게 되며, 최종 원하는 두께의 냉연 판재를 제조하게 된다. 본 제조공정에서 상기 냉연 소둔온도는 900~1100℃의 온도조건에서 실시하는 것이 바람직하다. 냉연 소둔온도가 1100℃이상에서는 결정립이 조대화 되어 항복점 연신현상은 개선되지만 연신율이 저하되어 성형성이 불리하고 소둔시 코일 장력에 의한 판파단이 우려된다. 소둔온도가 900℃이하에서는 재결정 집합조직이 발달하지 않아 성형성이 불리하다.

이하 실시예로 본 발명을 보다 구체적으로 설명한다.

표 1에 도시된 바와 같은 조성 성분의 합금을 50kg 용량의 진공유도로에서 용해하여 주괴를 제조하였다. 제조된 주괴는 열간압연 후 열연소둔하여 열연강판을 제조하였다. 이후에 열연강판을 최종두께 0.2mm 두께까지 냉간압연을 행하여 냉연판재를 제조하였다. 제작된 냉연판재는 가열온도 1000℃에서 소둔후 급속 냉각을 실시하였다. 제조된 냉연판재는 산세후 시험편규격 JIS13B로 압연방향과 평행한 방향으로 시편을 가공하여 크로스헤드속도(Crosshead speed)를 20mm/min으로 인장시험하였다. 인장시험을 통하여 각 소재성분에 따른 항복점 연신율을 측정하였다.
도 1은 표 1에 따른 0.2mm 두께의 냉연 소둔판재의 항복점 연신(%) 및 식(1)을 비교한 결과를 나타낸 것이며, 도 2는 본 발명의 비교강 5(왼쪽)와 발명강 1(오른쪽)의 냉간압연(0.2mm t) 및 1000℃에서 소둔 열처리후 급냉한 소재를 전극 유효면적 200cm2로 연료전지 분리판을 스탬핑 성형한 후의 표면형상을 보여 주는 결과이다. 비교강 5의 경우에는 가공한 후에 표면에 음각무늬 형태의 스트레쳐 스트레인결함이 나타나는 반면, 발명강 1에서는 스트레쳐 스트레인 결함이 없는 양호한 표면품질을 얻을 수 있다. 또한, 변형부의 두께감소율 관점에서 발명강 1에서 비교강 5보다 양호한 성형성을 얻을 수 있었다. 표 1 및 도 2에서 나타난 바와 같이, 발명강 1 (항복점 연신은 1.1% 및 식(1)은 0.7)의 경우는 비교강 5 (항복점 연신은 1.2% 및 식(1)은 1.16)에 비하여 성형성이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다.
항복점 연신은 성형성을 확인할 수 있는 항목으로, 상기 항복점 연신이 1.1%를 초과하는 경우에는 연료전지 분리판용으로 사용하기 위하여 강종을 가공시, 가공변형부 (도 2의 화살표)에 국부적인 응력집중이 심화되어 줄무늬형상이 형성되는 등 문제가 발생한다. 즉, 항복점 연신이 1.1% 초과이고 식 (1)에 따른 값이 0.7을 초과하는 경우에는 성형성이 저하된다.
표 1에서 나타낸 바와 같이 항복점 연신은 1.1% 이하인 것이 바람직한데, 상기 항복점 연신은 침입형 합금원소(C, N)와 탄·질화물 형성원소인 V, Ti, Nb의 함량을 적정함량을 조절하여 식(1)에 의하여 산정된 값이 0.7이하로 조절이 될 때 항복점 연신이 작아짐을 알 수 있었다. 식(1)에 의하여 산정된 값이 0.7을 초과할 때는 항복점 연신이 1.1%을 초과한다. 도 1은 본 발명의 성분함량에 따른 0.2mm 두께의 냉연 소둔판재의 항복점 연신(%)을 상기 식(1)의 값과 대비하여 비교한 결과를 나타낸 것이다. 따라서 도 1 및 표 1을 참조할 때, 식(1)이 0.7 이하인 경우에는 항복점 연신은 모두 1.1% 이하임을 확인할 수 있고, 1.1% 이하의 항복점에서는 연료전지 분리판용으로 적합한 성형성을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 본 실시예에 따른 스테인리스강에는 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물, Nb2C석출물 및 라베스상(Fe2Nb)석출물을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 스테인리스강의 표면은 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물, Nb2C석출물 및 라베스상(Fe2Nb)석출물 (전체석출물)에 의하여 덮여질 수 있는데, 이때, 상기 스테인리스강의 단위면적당 전체석출물 면적분율은 3.5%이하이고, 상기 전체석출물에 대한 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물의 비율인 (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물 면적분율(%)이 62% 이상일 수 있다. 여기에서, (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물은 하나의 석출상으로 존재하는 것으로, 상기 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물은 기재 내의 N과 C를 효과적으로 고정함으로써, 스테인리스강의 항복점 연신을 개선하여 성형성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
스테인리스강의 표면에 구비되는 전체석출물에 대하여 단위면적당 (100㎚2) 합금성분이 식(1)에 의하여 산정된 값이 0.7 이하로 조절이 될 때가 0.7를 초과할 때 보다, V 및 Cr이 일부고용된 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물이 Nb2C석출물 및 라베스상(Fe2Nb) 석출물보다 일부 분율이 증가하는 경향이 있으며, 단위면적당 전체석출물 면적분율이 작아짐을 알 수 있었다. 여기에서, 전체석출물 면적분율은 시료로 사용된 강종 (0.2mm 냉연재의 소둔후)의 전체면적에 대하여 상기 전체석출물이 덮은 정도를 의미한다.
표 2는 표 1의 강종에 대해 전체석출물 및 단위면적당 (100㎚2) 전체석출물 분율을 투과 전자 현미경에 의하여 측정한 전체석출물을 이미지 분석기에 의해 분석한 결과이다. 이때, 상기 표 2에서는 각각의 강종에 대해서 위치를 변경하면서 무작위적으로 투과 전차 현미경 (TEM)으로 각 5회씩 측정하였으며, 표 2에 기재된 값은 하나의 시료 (강종)에 대해서 5회를 측정한 값에 대한 평균값이다.

표 2를 참조하면, 비교강 1 내지 8의 경우는 단위면적당 전체석출물의 면적분율은 최소 3.7%에서, 최대 5.6%의 면적분율을 갖은 반면, 발명강 1 내지 7에서는 단위면적당 전체석출물 면적분율이 최대 3.4%로 3.5% 이하임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 전체석출물에 대한 (Ti,Nb)(C,N)의 경우, 비교강 1 내지 8은 최대 57%인데 반하여, 발명강 1 내지 7은 최대 83%이고, 최소가 65%로 상기 비교예 1 내지 8에 비하여 높은 값을 가짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 의하여, 발명강 1 내지 7과 같이 단위면적당 전체석출물 면적분율이 3.5%이하이고, (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물 면적분율(%)이 62% 이상이 될 때, 식(1)의 값은 0.7 이하이고 항복점 연신 또한 1.1%를 초과함을 확인할 수 있었다.
스테인리스강에서 석출물이 증가되는 경우에, 상기 석출물은 강종의 기질을 경화시킬 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 석출물의 증가는 항복점 연신을 증가시킬 수 있으며, 이때, 상기 석출물의 전체량 (전체석출물)이 단위면적당 면적분율로 3.5%를 초과하는 경우에는 강종의 성형성을 저하시켤 수 있다. 이때, 상기 전체석출물에 대한 (Ti, Nb)(C, N)석출물의 비율인 (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물 면적분율(%)이 62% 이상인 것이 바람직한데, 상기 (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물 면적분율(%)이 62% 미만인 경우에는 C, N이 고용되지 못하여 항복점 연신을 증가시키고 성형성을 저하시킬 수 있다. 이와 같이, 스테인리스강의 단위면적당 전체석출물 면적분율이 3.5%이하이고, (Ti,Nb)(C,N)/전체석출물 면적분율(%)이 62% 이상인 경우에는 스테인리스강의 기지내에 고용된 C, N의 함량을 현저히 낮출 수 있으며, V, Ti, Nb의 함량 및 강중에 침입형원소(C, N)의 적정함량을 이루어 항복점 연신이 없고 과도한 석출물의 생성이 없어 성형성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 따라서 스테인리스강의 표면형상과 연료전지 분리판 성형시 변형부의 국부적 파단이나 네킹을 방지함으로써 성형성이 우수한 강재를 제공할 수 있다.
표 3은 본 발명과 비교예에 의한 C+N에 대한 항복점 연신의 관계를 나타낸 결과이다. 표 3의 비교강 및 발명강에서도 상기 표 1에서와 같은 0.2mm 냉연재를 사용하여 동일한 방법에 의하여 확인하였다.

본 실시예에 따른 스테인리스강에서, C+N은 중량%로, 0.032% 이하일 수 있다. 상기 C와 N이 다량 함유될 경우에는 고용 C, N 함량을 증가시키고, 다량의 석출물을 형성하여 항복점 연신을 증가시키고, 성형성을 저하시킬 수 있다. 이때 C+N의 값이 0.032%를 초과하는 경우에 항복점 연신을 증가시키는 고용 C, N 함량을 낮추기 위하여, Ti, Nb, V함량을 과도하게 첨가해야 하므로 스테인리스강 생산 원료비를 불필요하게 증가시키거나, 과도한 탄질화물 형성에 의한 소재 연질화 효과를 저해하여 전체적인 성형성을 낮출 수 있다. 즉, 상기 C+N을 0.032% 이하로 관리함으로써, 상기 강중의 전체 C 및 N 의 고용함량을 낮추어 항복점 연신을 최소화 할 수 있고, Ti, Nb, V등과의 탄질화물 형성을 최소화 하여 전체적인 성형성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
상기 표 3에는 비교강 9 내지 11과 발명강 8 내지 10에 대한 항복점 연신을 확인할 결과이다. 비교강 9 내지 11에 나타난 바와 같이, C+N이 0.0377, 0.038 및 0.034인 경우에는 항복점 연신이 각각 2.5, 2 및 1.5이고 성형성에 불리함을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 비교강 9 내지 11에서의 식(1)에 따른 값도 각각 1.677, 3.202 및 2.622로 0.7을 초과함을 확인할 수 있었다.
반면, 발명강 8 내지 10의 경우는, C+N이 각각 0.012, 0.018 및 0.032이고, 이때 항복점 연신은 0.5, 0.4 및 0으로 모두 1.1% 이하임을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 상기 발명강 8 내지 10은 식(1)에 따른 값도 0.1, -0.041 및 0.697로 모두 0.7 이하이고, 이들 발명강 8 내지 10은 표면품질과 성형성이 우수하여 연료전지 분리판용으로 적합하게 사용될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 즉, 표 3에서와 같이, C+N은 석출되는 원소로 그 총량을 관리하는 것이 바람직하고, 스테인리스강의 성형성 및 항복점 연신과 생산비 등을 고려할 때 C+N은 0.032% 이하로 관리되는 것이 바람직함을 확인할 수 있었다.
도 4는 표 1 및 2의 비교강 4 (a) 및 발명강 5 (b)의 투과 전자 현미경 사진이다.
도 4를 참조하면, 비교강 4인 도 4의 (a)의 경우는 스테인리스강의 단위면적당 (100㎚2당) 전체석출물이 차지하는 비율은 면적분율(%)로 5.6%이고, 발명강 5인 도 4의 (b)의 경우는 스테인리스강의 단위면적당 (100㎚2당) 전체석출물이 차지하는 비율은 면적분율(%)로 3.2%임을 확인할 수 있었다.
이상과 같은 결과는, 중량 %로, C:0.02% 이하, N:0.02% 이하, Si:0.4% 이하, Mn:0.2 %이하, P:0.04% 이하, S:0.02% 이하, Cr:25.0~32.0%, Cu:0~1.0%, Ni:0.8% 이하, Ti:0.01~0.5% 이하, Nb:0.01~0.5% 이하, V:0.01~1.5% 이하 잔부 Fe 및 불가피하게 함유되는 원소로 이루어진 페라이트계 스테인리스 강으로, 강중의 Ti, Nb, V, C, N함량이 중량 %로 식(1)의 0.7% 성분범위로 조정한 합금 성분계를 사용하여 연료전지 분리판 성형을 위한 소재의 항복점 연신이 1.1%이내이고, 성형품의 표면품질이 우수하고 변형부의 네킹이 없는 우수한 성형성이 확보 가능한 강재를 제조 할 수 있다.
한편 도 3은 항복점 연신이 없는 경우(왼쪽)와 항복점 연신이 4%인 경우(오른쪽) V-bending Test 시 펀치의 동일 스트로크에서 시편 길이방향의 진변형률 분포를 유한요소법을 이용하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과를 나타낸다. 항복점 연신이 있는 경우 벤딩 변형집중 부위의 최대 0.061의 길이방향 변형률을 보여주며, 0.041인 항복점 연신이 없는 소재를 시험한 경우 대비 0.02의 변형률(공칭 변형률로 약 2%)이 증가한 결과를 나타내고 있다. 또한, 항복점 연신이 있는 경우 시편의 변형 형상이 상대적으로 완만한 곡선이 아닌 다소 꺽인 형태를 보여주는데, 이는 항복점 연신 현상이 소재 벤딩 변형 시에 소재 표면으로부터 증가하는 변형을 시편 길이방향으로 분산을 유도하지 못해 변형이 집중되어 발생한 현상으로 벤딩 저항성의 약화를 의미한다. 이는 결국 벤딩 성형 모드가 주로 존재하는 연료전지 분리판의 스탬핑 공정에서 변형 과다 집중 및 나아가서는 두께감소율을 악화시키는 결과를 초래할 수 있다. 이에 항복점 연신은 제거되는 것이 연료전지 분리판 성형 시 성형성을 향상시키는 필수적인 요소라고 할 수 있다. 통상적으로 이를 제거하기 위해서는 최종 압연판재를 0.5에서 2%정도로 냉간압연 혹은 레벨링등에 의해 제거하는 방법이 일반적으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 냉간압연 혹은 레벨링등의 추가 공정으로 인하여 소재의 제조비용을 높일 수 있고, 일정 시간이 지난후에 이들 항복점 연신이 재발생할 수 있는 문제점이 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기의 조성으로 합금설계된 스테인리스강을 연료전지 분리판용으로 박판 성형하는 단계를 더 포함하여 최종적으로 고분자 연료전지 분리판용 스테인리스강을 얻을 수 있다.
본 발명의 기술 사상은 상기 바람직한 실시예에 따라 구체적으로 기술되었으나, 상기한 실시예는 그 설명을 위한 것이며 그 제한을 위한 것이 아님을 주의하여야 한다. 또한, 본 발명의 기술 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 본 발명의 기술 사상의 범위 내에서 다양한 변형예가 가능함을 이해할 수 있을 것이다.
