Description

A COOKER
The present invention relates to a cooker wherein a safe cooking process is provided.
In cookers, grills are used that are preferably produced from cast iron and that provide containers such as pot and pan to be placed onto the burner located on the cooktop. During cooking while the food inside the container placed on the grill is stirred, the container should not move on the grill. Moving of the container while stirring the food causes risks such as overturning of the container and hence, harming of the user. Furthermore, it is required that the grill is also seated onto the cooktop in a robust manner and that it does not move on the cooktop while stirring the food. The problem of the grill sliding on the cooktop is mostly encountered in cookers that have a cooktop produced from glass or ceramic, hence having a slippery surface.
In the state of the art United States Patent Document No. US6470879, a cooking apparatus is described, comprising more than one foot holder that is formed on the burner panel, providing the grill to remain in a fixed position on the burner panel by holding the feet of the grill.
However, particularly in cookers that have a cooktop produced from glass or ceramic, shaping the cooktop is a difficult and cost-increasing method.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooker wherein the grill is prevented from moving on the cooktop during the cooking process.
The cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a burner connection member that is fixed onto the cooktop and carries the burner placed thereon, and at least one grill that has a frame that is seated onto the cooktop so as to surround the burner and that contacts the cooktop, and more than one arm that extends from the frame over the burner and whereon the container, wherein food is cooked, is placed. The cooker comprises a protrusion located on the burner connection member and extending upwards from the burner connection member, and a housing located on the frame and preventing the grill from moving on the cooktop by being seated onto the protrusion when the grill is placed onto the cooktop. The protrusion extends in the vertical direction with respect to the burner connection member. When the grill is seated onto the cooktop, the protrusion is seated into the housing. The housing surrounds the protrusion. Thus the grill is provided to remain stationary by preventing it from sliding and moving on the cooktop. The grill is prevented from moving particularly during the cooking process while stirring the food and thus, undesired situations such as overturning of the container are prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing extends from the frame into the arm.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the width of the housing is almost equal to the width of the protrusion. Thus, when the grill is placed onto the cooktop, the housing is provided to be tightly seated onto the protrusion, thereby providing no gap therebetween.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the depth of the housing is almost equal to the length of the protrusion. Consequently, the grill is provided to be placed onto the cooktop in a balanced manner.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the housing is configured as a cylinder. In this embodiment, the protrusion is also in cylindrical form, matching the form of the housing. When the grill is placed onto the cooktop, the housing almost entirely surrounds the protrusion.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion is produced as a single piece together with the burner connection member.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion is produced separately from the burner connection member and mounted onto the burner connection member.
In a version of this embodiment, the protrusion is screw-shaped and is fixed by being inserted into the screw hole bored on the burner connection member. Thus, the protrusion is provided to be fixed onto the burner connection member in a simple way.
By means of the present invention, the grill is provided to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop. The grill is prevented from moving and sliding on the cooktop and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
A cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:

The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Cooker
  2. Cooktop
  3. Burner
  4. Burner connection member
  5. Frame
  6. Arm
  7. Grill
  8. Protrusion
  9. Housing
The cooker (1) comprises a cooktop (2) which is produced from glass or ceramic, more than one burner (3) that provides the flames to reach the container wherein the cooking process is performed, more than one burner connection member (4) that is fixed onto the cooktop (2) so as to remain between the cooktop (2) and the burner (3) and that carries the burner (3) placed thereon, and more than one grill (7) that has a frame (5) that is seated onto the cooktop (2) so as to surround the burner connection member (4) and more than one arm (6) that extends from the frame (5) over the burner (3) such that the burner (3) remains therebetween and thus, that forms a surface whereon the containers such as pot and pan, placed thereon, are seated.
The burner connection member (4) is preferably produced from sheet metal and fixed onto the cooktop (2). The burner connection member (4) prevents the heat of the burner (3), that is located thereon and that gets heated with the effect of the flame passing therethrough during cooking, from passing to the cooktop (2). The excessive heat generated on the burner (3) is absorbed by the burner connection member (4). Thus, the cooktop (2) is prevented from being adversely affected by the high temperature of the burner (3) and thermal deformations that can occur on the cooktop (2) are prevented.
The cooker (1) furthermore comprises a protrusion (8) located on the burner connection member (4) and extending almost in the vertical direction and a housing (9) located on the frame (5), wherein the protrusion (8) is seated when the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2). When the housing (9) is seated onto the protrusion (8), the frame (5) is prevented from moving in the horizontal direction. The form of the housing (9) matches with the form of the protrusion (8) and the protrusion (8) is seated into the housing (9) when the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2). The inner walls of the housing (9) bear against the outer surface of the protrusion (8). Thus, the grill (7) is provided to remain stationary on the cooktop (2). Especially during the cooking process, shakings, vibrations affecting the grill (7) due to the stirring of the food in the container on the grill (7) are prevented. By preventing the grill (7) from sliding on the cooktop (2), safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
Moreover, the housing (9) almost entirely covers the protrusion (8). Thus, by preventing the protrusion (8) from being seen, a more esthetic outer appearance is obtained.
The protrusion (8) is located on the upper surface of the burner connection member (4) and extends in the vertical direction with respect to the burner connection member (4). Thus, the grill (7) is provided to be easily positioned by the user while the grill (7) is being placed onto the cooktop (2).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the housing (9) extends from the frame (5) to the arm (6). The frame (5) is almost in circular form, and the depth of the housing (9) is larger than the diameter of the frame (5). The production of the housing (9) is facilitated by extending the housing (9) from the frame (5) to the arm (6).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the width of the protrusion (8) is almost equal to the width of the housing (9). When the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2), the housing (9) tightly surrounds the protrusion (8) from outside. Thus, the grill (7) is provided to be durably seated onto the cooktop (2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the depth of the housing (9) is almost equal to the height of the protrusion (8). Thus, the grill (7) is provided to be placed onto the cooktop (2) in a balanced manner by providing the housing (9) to be entirely seated onto the protrusion (8).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the housing (9) has a cylindrical form. In this embodiment, the protrusion (8) has also a cylindrical form. When the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2), the housing (9) is seated onto the protrusion (8).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion (8) is produced as a single piece together with the burner connection member (4). Thus, the production of the protrusion (8) is facilitated.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the protrusion (8) is produced separately from the burner connection member (4) and mounted onto the burner connection member (4). The protrusion (8) can be fixed to the burner connection member (4) with methods such as welding, adhesion, etc.
In a version of this embodiment, the protrusion (8) is in screw form. In this embodiment, a screw hole wherein the protrusion (8) is to be mounted is arranged on the burner connection member (4). Thus, the protrusion (8) is provided to be fixed onto the burner connection member (4) in a simple method such screwing.
By means of the present invention, the grill (7) is prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop (2). The grill (7) is provided to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop (2) and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
