Description

A COOKER
The present invention relates to a cooker wherein a safe cooking process is provided.
In cookers, grills are used that are preferably produced from cast iron and that provide containers such as pot and pan to be placed onto the burner located on the cooktop. During cooking, while the food inside the container, placed on the grill, is stirred, the container should not move on the grill. Moving of the container while stirring the food causes risks such as overturning of the container and hence, harming of the user. Furthermore, it is required that the grill is also seated onto the cooktop in a robust manner and that it does not move on the cooktop while stirring the food. The problem of the grill sliding on the cooktop is mostly encountered in cookers that have a cooktop produced from glass or ceramic, hence having a slippery surface.
In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2011061685, a cooking hob is described that comprises projections located on the lower side of the grill and recesses which are located on the cooktop and wherein the projections are seated when the grill is placed onto the cooktop.
However, particularly in cookers that have a cooktop produced from glass or ceramic, shaping the cooktop is a difficult and cost-increasing method.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a cooker wherein the grill is prevented from moving on the cooktop during the cooking process.
The cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a burner connection member which is fixed onto the cooktop and carries the burner placed thereon, and at least one grill that has a frame which is seated onto the cooktop such that at least one burner remains within the frame and more than one arm which extends from the frame over the burner and whereon the container, wherein food is cooked, is placed. The grill comprises at least one support means which is connected to the frame and contacts the cooktop, and when the grill is placed onto the cooktop, prevents the grill from moving on the cooktop by at least partially bearing against each burner connection member remaining within the frame. The form of the support means matches the form of the burner connection member and when the grill is placed onto the cooktop, the support means at least partially surrounds the burner connection member. Since the support means bears against the burner connection member, the grill is prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop and is provided to remain stationary. The grill is prevented from moving particularly during the cooking process while stirring the food and thus, undesired situations such as overturning of the container are prevented.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the burners located on the cooktop are surrounded by a single grill. The area surrounded by the frame is almost equal to the surface area of the cooktop. There are more than one support means that bears against the periphery of each burner connection member remaining within the frame and that contacts the cooktop.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the burners located on the cooktop are surrounded by different grills. The total area occupied by the grills is almost equal to the surface area of the cooktop.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the support means is crescent-shaped. In this embodiment, the burner connection member is almost in circular form and when the grill is placed onto the cooktop, almost no space is left between the support means and the burner connection member. The grill is prevented from moving on the cooktop in the horizontal direction by the support means bearing against the burner connection member.
By means of the present invention, the grill is provided to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop. The grill is prevented from moving and sliding on the cooktop and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
A cooker realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the perspective view of a cooker.
Figure 2 – is the top view of a cooker.
Figure 3 – is the exploded perspective view of a cooktop and a grill.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Cooker
  2. Cooktop
  3. Burner
  4. Burner connection member
  5. Frame
  6. Arm
  7. Grill
  8. Support means
The cooker (1) comprises a cooktop (2) which is produced from glass or ceramic and which has a flat surface and more than one cooking area, more than one burner (3) which is located at each cooking area and which provides the flames to reach the container wherein the cooking process is performed, more than one burner connection member (4) which is fixed onto the cooktop (2) so as to remain between the cooktop (2) and each burner (3) and which carries the burner (3) placed thereon, and at least one grill (7) that has at least one frame (5) which is seated onto the cooktop (2) so as to surround at least one burner connection member (4) and more than one arm (6) which extends from the frame (5) over the burner (3) such that a burner (3) remains therebetween and thus, which forms a surface whereon the containers such as pot and pan, placed thereon, are seated.
The burner connection member (4) is preferably produced from sheet metal and fixed onto the cooktop (2). The burner connection member (4) prevents the heat of the burner (3), which is located thereon and which gets heated with the effect of the flame passing therethrough during cooking, from passing to the cooktop (2). The excessive heat generated on the burner (3) is absorbed by the burner connection member (4). Thus, the cooktop (2) is prevented from being adversely affected by the high temperature of the burner (3) and thermal deformations that can occur on the cooktop (2) are prevented.
The grill (7), furthermore, comprises at least one support means (8), which is connected to the frame (5) and located on the same plane as the frame (5) and which at least partially bears against the periphery of each burner connection member (4) surrounded by the frame (5) when the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2), and which matches in configuration to the outer form of the burner connection member (4). When the grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2), the support means (8) partially surrounds the burner connection member (4). The support means (8) contacts the upper surface of the cooktop (2). The support means (8) matches in configuration to the form of the burner connection member (4). Thus, no space remains between the support means (8) and the burner connection member (4). Since the burner connection member (4) serves as a barrier in front of the support means (8), the grill (7) is prevented from moving on the cooktop (2) in the horizontal direction. Thus, the grill (7) is provided to remain stationary on the cooktop (2). Particularly during the cooking process, the grill (7) is prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop (2) due to stirring of the food inside the container on the grill (7) and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
Only by means of the support means (8) that is formed by shaping the grill (7), the need of shaping the cooktop (2) to prevent the grill (7) from sliding and moving on the cooktop (2) is eliminated. Thus, cost advantage is provided during the production of the cooker (1).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the area surrounded by the frame (5) is almost equal to the surface area of the cooktop (2). The grill (7) is placed onto the cooktop (2) so as to cover almost all of the upper surface of the cooktop (2). All of the burners (3) located on the cooktop (2) remain within the frame (5). The frame (5) is preferably shaped as a hollow rectangle matching the configuration of the cooktop (2). A support means (8) extends from the frame (5) and at least partially surrounds the burner connection member (4) whereon each burner (3) remaining in the inner area of the frame (5) is seated. The support means (8) bears against the side wall of the burner connection member (4). If there is more than one burner (3) in the same horizontal direction, each support means (8) bearing against each burner connection member (4) faces opposite directions. Thus, the movements of the grill (7) in the horizontal direction are prevented.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the frame (5) at least partially covers the surface area of the cooktop (2) such that at least one burner (3) is located therewithin. In this embodiment, there is more than one grill (7) that surrounds the burners (3) located on the cooktop (2). In case that only one burner (3) is located within the frame (5), the burner connection member (4) is supported by one support means (8) from each opposite side. Both support means (8) prevent the grill (7) from moving on the cooktop (2) by bearing against the burner connection member (4) remaining between the support means (8) from two opposite sides and thus, the grill (7) remains in a fixed position on the cooktop (2). In case that two different burners (3) are located within a frame (5), the support means (8) bearing against each burner connection member (4) surround the burner connection members (4) in the opposite directions to each other. Thus, the horizontal movements that can occur on the grill (7) are absorbed by the support means (8) facing opposite directions. Thus, the grill (7) is prevented from moving and sliding on the cooktop (2).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the support means (8) is spring-shaped. In this embodiment, the burner connection member (4) is almost in circular form and the support means (8) matches in configuration to the form of the burner connection member (4). The support means (8) at least partially surrounds the burner connection member (4). Since the support means (8) bears against the burner connection member (4), almost no space remains between the support means (8) and the burner connection member (4).
By means of the present invention, the grill (7) is prevented from sliding and moving on the cooktop (2). The grill (7) is provided to remain in a fixed position on the cooktop (2) and thus, safe use conditions in terms of the user are provided.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
