Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein optisch variables Element sowie ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellung. Das optisch variable Element weist in einem ersten Bereich mindestens ein erstes Farbgebiet auf, das bei Beleuchtung eine vom Betrachtungswinkel und/oder Beleuchtungswinkel abhängige Farbe generiert. Das erste Farbgebiet weist zwei oder mehrere nebeneinander angeordnete Zonen (41 bis 47) auf. Die zwei oder mehreren nebeneinander angeordneten Zonen besitzen jeweils eine Breiten- und/oder Längenabmessung von weniger als 300 µm. In zumindest einer ersten Zonen (41) der Zonen (41 bis 47) des ersten Farbgebietes ist ein Dünnschichtinterferenzfilter (15) mit zumindest einer Interferenzschicht (17) vorgesehen. Die Interferenzschicht (17) des Dünnschichtinterferenzfilters (15) weist in der ersten Zone (41) eine erste mittlere Dicke (d1) auf. Die erste mittlere Dicke ist so gewählt, dass der Dünnschichtinterferenzfilter (15) bei Beleuchtung unter zumindest einem bestimmten Betrachtungswinkel und/oder Beleuchtungswinkel eine Farbe mittels Interferenz generiert, die sich von mindestens einer Farbe unterscheidet, die bei Beleuchtung unter diesem Betrachtungswinkel und/oder Beleuchtungswinkel in zumindest einer der anderen Zonen (42 bis 47) des ersten Farbgebiets generiert wird.
