  • the mixture was maintained at 20°C for 5 minutes. After this period of contact time, an aliquot was taken and was immediately neutralized by a validated method.
  • the number of bacteria in each sample were determined by plating in TSA agar and the reduction in viable count was calculated after incubating for 48 hours.
  • aeruginosa ATCC 15442 (at 10 7 cfu/ml concentration) ; the dilution was 1:60 of the product (a floor cleaner) in hard water.

Abstract

L'invention porte sur une composition liquide de nettoyage et désinfection de surfaces dures. Les présents inventeurs ont trouvé que l'incorporation de chlorure de benzalkonium et de sels choisis d'acide dicarboxylique ou tricarboxylique, lorsqu'ils sont combinés à du thymol ou du terpinéol, assure un effet antimicrobien synergétique d'une manière rapide et qu'une telle efficacité est obtenue à de très faibles concentrations en thymol et/ou en terpinéol.
