Abstract

La présente invention concerne une cellule optique d'électro-mouillage comportant des première (19) et seconde (12) couches d'électrode, un espace de confinement, et des parois de pixels (6, 7). La première couche d'électrode comporte une interface hydrophobe et l'espace de confinement comporte un liquide polaire et non polaire ayant des conductivités différentes, et étant immiscibles. Les couches d'électrode peuvent être alimentées au moyen de lignes de réception d'énergie, qui réaligne le liquide polaire et non polaire, commutant la cellule entre différents états de transmittance optique. La première couche d'électrode présente une limite (19) et une partie centrale d'électrode (20) séparées l'une de l'autre électriquement. La partie limite d'électrode est adjacente aux dites parois de pixels, entourant la partie centrale d'électrode. Les lignes de réception d'énergie connectent les deux parties d'électrode de sorte que celles-ci puissent être alimentées indépendamment l'une de l'autre. L'électrode de limite est une couche réfléchissante spéculaire ou elle est transmissive et disposée sur une couche réfléchissante spéculaire (23).
